Nintendo just announced that their press conference will be streamed online this year. This can't have anything to do with G4TV absolutely falling apart does it?

Nintendo to Offer Live Coverage of E3 Expo 2011 Presentation

Video game fans around the globe are invited to bookmark http://e3.nintendo.com in their browsers as Nintendo prepares to offer a virtual front-row seat at this year’s E3 Expo in Los Angeles. A live webcast of Nintendo’s E3 Expo 2011 media presentation will begin at 9 a.m. Pacific time on Tuesday, June 7. Immediately following the presentation, fans can enjoy additional Nintendo Network coverage on the site, including interviews, game trailers and special video segments. A variety of exclusive content will also be available on the Nintendo® Channel, which is accessible to anyone with a Wii™ console that is connected to the Internet.

The E3 Expo, scheduled to take place June 7-9 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, is among the year’s biggest events for the global video game industry. Exclusive Nintendo Network programming will be viewable at http://e3.nintendo.com and on the Nintendo Channel throughout the week, offering the latest information and updates on Nintendo’s announcements.

This is especially exciting for those of us who have DirectTV, because we lost G4TV errrrrrr CopsTV earlier this year. Rumor has it Microsoft is going to stream their press conference on Xbox LIVE or Hulu or something. We'll see how that works. And our boy Geoff Keighley is going to have the Sony press conference on Spike TV. Looks like gamers won't miss anything this year.

I will be sitting in the Nintendo press conference and tweeting live so follow me @goukijones on twitter for some serious on location reactions.

Microsoft details here.

In short:

Microsoft and Spike TV have teamed up to bring the company's entire briefing in HD (via video on-demand) to the console. It will air live on Spike TV June 6th at 12:30 p.m. ET, with streams also available on GameTrailers.com (in high definition), Facebook, MTV.com, Spike.com and Xbox.com as well as being broadcast in Times Square.

I'm not sure if it's live on the console or available at some later date, but xbox.com has it live.

G4TV? That's that website that takes forever to load on my iPhone, right? Didn't they have a TV channel a while back? :)

I used to watch a few shows, but once they started Attack of the Show and X-Play lost Morgan Webb, I said fuck this channel. Not to mention they completely changed the channel to Cops 21/7.

I guess we should be glad that you can still get coverage from E3 without actually going, but why don't they just hook up their own site? If each major company is going to stream their own stuff some people will just watch that and miss what the other developers have to offer.
