Frequently Asked Questions about Gouki.com. You should read this before using the site. Ask questions below.
Q: How do I write a story on Gouki.com?
A: Rule number 1: Don't be a Jimmy - Don't write a story with a title people won't understand. Don't write a story that starts with a bullet point and ends with a comma. When you write a story on Gouki.com it must be about video games. Otherwise BatRastered is going to be quick to delete it. Video game stories can be about anything though. Your story must be tagged with one of the following:
Blog. Fuck it. Blog it, write about whatever you want, however you want. As long as it's video game related.
Review. Write a review that follows our rating system. It's real easy. Reviews can be for hardware or software, new releases or old ass games, including demos and beta tests.
Preview. You can post a video with a short description of a game. You could also write a story about a recent press release. These stories work best with a source attached. Remember BatRastered is watching.
News. We most certainly encourage our readers to post the news, but what we want to hear are your versions of it, your opinions. So don't just post a press release cut and paste job. Explain why you are interested in this game and why you want to share your interests with the Goukimunity.
Pictures. Want to share pictures, the best way to do that is to use any of the image sharing sites. I prefer photobucket.
Video. You only need to cut and paste the "watch url" from youtube into the body of your story. Do not paste the url into the source. After you save your story the video will appear. [See image below if nubfarm.] If you want to post a video - write a short explanation why you are posting this video and what it is about.

Modders on Halo Reach. I have not seen anything like this since Halo 2. The Jimmy is jumping super high and killing us with 1 shot, using the AR. Running super fast and jumping the length of the map. Edited for time.
Last week Bungie banned like 15,000 Jimmys. Hackers, boosters, modders, alleged cheaters. Whatever, Bungie is on top of the situation. I was just having a conversation with BatRastered this afternoon, that Bungie was doing an excellent job Banning the cheaters. The Banhammer has come down twice since launch and soon will become self aware, like Skynet.
"With each Banhammer swing the mass proclamations of profound innocence become more and more entertaining, and with each subsequent smack down the Banhammer becomes more and more addicted to the delectable taste of booster blood. Soon we will unleash it in its fully automated, self-aware form. You have been warned. " from Bungie.net
The video below shows some Jimmys that haven't been effected by the BanHammer yet. That shouldn't take long though, you'll understand after you see the video. All the guns on the map were one shot kills. For red and blue teams. One guy on the red team had a super high jump and could run really fast. I haven't seen stuff like this since Halo 2. So what's going on here? Something in Reach is like Halo 2 and the hacker and modders can mess with the settings like that. My take is Halo Reach looks like Halo 3 and shoots like Halo CE. I never had a comparison for Halo 2 really. I guess it mods like Halo 2. Yeah that's a good one. Watch the video below. It's edited for time and you can see the entire game if you download it from my file share on Halo Reach.
Bungie.net: Official game stats
Bungie.net: Forum post
This shouldn't be taken as a fanboy rant or a blame it all on Bungie type thing. I know, no matter what Bungie does, there are always gonna be some Jimmys ruining the game for us. Halo is my favorite shooter and I know that people want to see videos like this. For me, it was like seeing a UFO tonight. I had no idea this could even happen anymore on Halo, or even Xbox 360 at all. Thanks for reading.
** I used the Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR to capture the video.

Killzone 3 changes the industry. Here's a look at a few high profile gun peripherals for the Sony Playstation Move. The official Sony Sharpshooter and the CTA Assault rifle. Play an FPS like never before.
There's a few excellent options if you want to use your Playstation 3 Move controller and play an FPS like you have never played before. Killzone 3 has gun peripherals galore. We got to try one out recently at CES and FnJimmy really liked it. From what I observed, I like what I saw and would definitely give it a try. Sony has a quality product here with the Move FPS.
The peripheral we got hands-on with at CES was the official Sony PlayStation Move SharpShooter.
This gun requires both Move controllers for it work. You can see in the picture that the PlayStation Move Navigation Controller is in the front. There are different options with the guns below. The PlayStation Move Controller fits in the front and is right down the line of site. This is also different in the guns below. This is the Sony branded gun, so maybe Sony knows something about the line of site that they are not sharing. I always recommend the official product. PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter on Amazon for $39
The CTADigital models give you two more options on how you want to play the game.
First we have the Assault Rifle Controller for PlayStation Move. This is unique because the Move Navigation is already built in, so you don't need that part of the Move to play. But this controller also retails for $20 more. So you save $10. The thumbstick is also in the back of this gun. Can you walk and shoot at the same time? Here's a quick demo video from CTA.
The second model from CTADigital is a submachine gun.
This gun as you can see, requires both Move controllers for it work. The PlayStation Move Submachine Gun retails for around $20, but now you need a PlayStation Move Navigation Controller too, if you don't have one, that's an extra $30.
Personal play style is going be a huge factor. Each of these guns are different sizes and different weights. There are a few Jimmy Ass models online, like the PS3 Move Battle Rifle, which transforms into a pistol. But the individual has options; where do you want the thumbstick, how do you feel about the line of site for the Move, the price, the size, the style. Make your choice carefully.
I'm excited to see what happens in the future with peripherals. These are all pretty cool and seem very tangible. However, I still don't know how an FPS is going to work without buttons. Sony Move definitely has the advatange over Microsoft Kinect in the FPS market. Thanks for reading.

It's been 12 years since Gouki.com first stumbled drunkingly onto the internet. Check out our stats from the last year to the most recent 30 days. And thank you for visiting Gouki.com.
First off, Gouki.com would like to thank all of the users that have been visiting the site for the past 12 years. We would also like to welcome and thank all of the new users that have joined us since our massive relaunch in 2009. Yes, that even includes Kof2012.
Since Gouki.com was a birthday gift to me so many years ago from my excellent friend and co-founder of the new Gouki.com, BatRastered, The 27th of January will always be the anniversary. Over the years the site has been many things. At one point I wrote and uploaded all of the code myself, I didn't have a clue what I was doing. The site showed it too. lol. I tried to cover, movies, tv, video games, comics, local Las Vegas hot spots. None of that worked, I could never keep every section looking mint. At that time, I also had the wise idea to advertise on television. Boy did I have internet marketing all bass ackwards.
A few years later, I moved away from Las Vegas in search of my lost soul and the site drifted into oblivion. Not the game, the void of the internet. Then Xbox Live and Halo 2 came out and changed my world forever, yeah one of those moments. Online FPS with friends from all around the world? Sounds awesome right. The term Jimmy also came from this. Based on one of my best friends Jimmy Roman, you all know him as the incredible FnJimmy. When I played Halo 2, I was killing people that sucked or was being partied up with nuabs, I just started calling everybody Jimmy. It didn't matter, I might as well been playing with Jimmy at that point. Just nameless random pick-up Jimmys.
Then everybody I was playing with started to call me Jimmy and everybody else Jimmy. It quickly became a worldwide phenomenon. I know you saw that Scottish Jimmy running around in the oil commercials screaming "Think with your dipstick Jimmy!" Yeah, they had to ask for the rights to call those Jimmys a Jimmy.
Ok enough nonsense. Here's a look at our growth over the last month.
30,000 Visits. Thank you very much! That's up over 55% since December.

Dead Space 2 has been released. Is it worth your money? Find out in the Gouki.com Review.
Dead Space 2 developed by Visceral Games and published by EA is a survival horror with a lot going for it. The original Dead Space was a great game, with monsters, creepy corridors, dark rooms, and a true sense of fear. Well Dead Space 2 is all of that and more. How does this 2 disc sequel stack up to its predecessor? Find out in our review below.
With an option to watch previously on Dead Space and find out what happened in the first game, the story in Dead Space 2 starts off slightly confusing. I’m sure that was the point as it’s been 3 years since the first game, and Isaac Clarke is now in a mental hospital strapped down in a strait jacket. Isaac is suffering from hallucinations from some illness and it’s making him see some crazy things, including images of his dead girlfriend Nicole. The last thing he can remember is what happened on the USG Ishimura. Isaac then escapes this hospital once Necromorphs break in. So it’s up to Isaac to survive the outbreak, find out what happened to him, and why these monsters have returned.
The gameplay is very similar to Dead Space. It’s a survival horror so expect to find some general things you’d expect, like saving through save spots scattered throughout the game, low ammo and health items, an inventory system, a sense of fear from what could behind the next door. Like how Resident Evil used to be. Dead Space 2 has five difficulty settings (casual, normal, survivalist, zealot, and hardcore), which allows for pretty much anyone over the age to be able to jump in and enjoy the experience. Hardcore, however, is for the greatest challenge in the game. You only get 3 saves and no continues. All other difficulties are pretty generous with the continues, there is still a fear of dying, but luckily Dead Space 2 is nice enough to restart you fairly close to where you died. The game also has a great tutorial, which allows you to understand what each button does, as well as how everything works. Dead Space 2 isn’t all about just shooting whatever moves, the game rewards players for dismembering body parts such as arms and legs. On the easier settings you can kill an enemy by shooting off both legs in two shots; whereas shooting it in the chest can sometimes take up to 4 or 5 shots. In a survival horror game, ammo preservation is essential. Stomping enemies to death is another way to save ammo and it looks great too.
Dead Space 2 looks absolutely great. The level design is exactly what it needs to be, when the game isn’t pitch black and lit up its quite nice to look at. At most times the game is very dark, so dark to the point you’ll need a flashlight just to see straight ahead. The gore in Dead Space 2 is excellent. Severed heads, mangled bodies, monsters gushing blood and guts, and blood stains all across the walls, the blood and gore is some of the best and most disgusting in a game to date. Watching someone commit suicide in a game isn’t for everyone, but for those that don’t mind it will enjoy the visual blood splatter in Dead Space 2. Isaac Clarke also looks visual impressive, which is a good thing. No matter how nice a game looks, if the main character looks bad, well then you’ve just ruined a 3rd person shooter experience. Visceral Games did a nice job here. The lip synching is pretty spot on as well.
The audio department has its ups and downs in Dead Space 2. The music sets the tone for the environments very well. The voice work for the supporting cast is top notch. The only issue here is within Isaac Clarke. In the original Dead Space Isaac only spoke a few words. This is a good thing. In Dead Space 2 it’s like Isaac is on a talk show or something, he is a chatter box this time around. I assume it was to give him some character and help develop his personality more, which is understandable. The only problem with that is the voice work for Isaac isn’t very good. He always sounds like he’s whispering even when he’s supposed to be yelling, which makes Isaac very hard to hear, while every other spoken voice in the game shines. It’s too bad too, because it’s one of the only things I don’t like about the game.
New to Dead Space 2 is online multiplayer which in my opinion wasn’t needed. Once again EA has tacked on the online pass, which means that if you didn’t buy the game new, or rented it, or borrowed it then you need to pay $10 to play the multiplayer. This is a little ridiculous as the multiplayer in Dead Space 2 is boring and just tacked on. You play as either humans or the Necromorph and it’s basically death match. Which is fine, but after a while it gets old. Not to mention those with higher levels tend to outright dominate the new players. There is no real match making system to produce a fun experience for everyone. So do yourself a favor, if you happen to rent Dead Space 2, or borrow it don’t waste your money on the multiplayer.
Overall Dead Space 2 is exactly what it should have been save multiplayer. It’s fun, it’s scary, it’s bloody, and most importantly it’s a good game. I would recommend anyone who is a fan of the Survival horror genre to play this game. Those who aren’t should give it a try as well. This is a much better game than Dead Space was and that is a great improvement over a great game.
Bottom Line: BUY IT!

It's been 11 years and Marvel vs Capcom 3 is finally here... too bad it's terrible. After all these years this is what Capcom has to offer? An unpolished game, broken game play, and and uninspired storyline. MvC3 is a complete disappointment. Find out why!
Now that I’ve got your attention, I just wanted to say that everyone on the Gouki.com crew loves Marvel vs Capcom 3.
Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds is finally upon us. After 11 years of waiting since the release of the well-known and still played Marvel vs Capcom 2, Capcom and Marvel Comics unite once again. The 3 on 3 brawler is back and better than ever with 36+ characters, 100+ hyper combos, and dream match-ups galore. After spending well over 12 hours of straight Marvel vs Capcom 3 action the Gouki.com crew is still itching for more. Capcom and Marvel favorites such as Ryu, Chun Li, Captain America and Spider-Man return as well as adding some new faces to the games franchise like Dante, Arthur, M.O.D.O.K and Deadpool. Marvel vs Capcom 3 is something to be remembered.
Marvel vs Capcom 3 has an impressive storyline this time around. A great threat is upon the two worlds of Marvel and Capcom. Dr. Doom has gathered all the most evil villains of the Marvel universe, such as Super Skrull, Magneto, and Dormammu and joined forces with Albert Wesker in a plot to join their worlds in order to conquer them. That is until Galactus from the Fantastic 4 is awakened and threatens the entire earth. It is up to all of the heroes and villains to stop Galactus before he destroys both worlds and rules the galaxy.
Here is a video of a full Arcade run through, but check out Galalctus at 12:36!
The gameplay of MvC3 is unlike the other vs series where the button configurations are of 4 buttons instead of your classic 6 button set up. What has returned from MvC2 is the 3 vs 3 2D action. Choose up to 3 characters from Marvel, Capcom, or a mix between and battle it out against a team of 3. Character assists return as well as hyper combos. What is new in MvC3 is the X-Factor, which is what you would call your desperation or clutch card. Activating X-Factor not only heals your fighter during battle, but also makes them stronger and gives them better defense. X-Factor lasts longer and is more effective when only 1 fighter of a team remains, but using it earlier has its advantages as well. Also new to the series is tagging out fighters within combos. Launch your opponent into the air to continue a combo and you can tag out to your next fighter making the combo even greater. Capcom has made MvC3 more accessible than ever with the new Simple Mode. Simple Mode allows those new to the vs series to be able to jump in with a simplified control scheme and still pull off insane combos, making Marvel vs Capcom 3 fun and accessible for beginners, advanced or any skill level.
MvC3 has a good amount of modes this time around, and will suit everyone. There is your classic Arcade mode where you pick a team of 3 and fight through 6 stages before reaching the final boss fight. Arcade mode is your story mode for MvC3. Then you have Versus mode, which if you have friends over this will take up most of your time. 2 players each choose a team of 3 and battle it out for bragging rights among friends or each other. The Gouki.com crew played this mode the most and we still can’t get enough. New to the Marvel vs Capcom series is Mission mode. Mission mode is a list of moves and combos that must be completed for each character. There are 10 missions per character and they each get increasingly more difficult. Training mode has returned from MvC2, but is better than ever. Training mode is one of the best features in the game, because it allows you to not only mess around, but learn combos, tricks, and more.
Check out this video of me going through some of the trials with a few characters
MvC3 runs on the MT Framework in full 3D and is the most impressive vs game to date. It simply looks amazing. The colors, the lighting, the character models, even the stages are impressive. Capcom has really outdone themselves with MvC3. The game just looks too good. Each character is done is full 3D, with defining characteristics that truly sets them apart from anyone else in the cast. From The Hulk’s veins, to Wesker’s Jacket, every character has something that brings out their personalities; sprites are a thing of the past. The stages are wonderful with how each has things that make them stand out from the rest. Capcom and Marvel fans will notice little cameos and easter eggs in the backgrounds of the stages. MvC3 looks stunning.
The audio in MvC3 is wonderful. The voice work for each character is done exactly how you would expect them. When you hear Captain America say “Avengers Assemble” it will put a smile on your face. The characters each have close to 60+ sounds and quotes that completely define them. Deadpool breaks the fourth wall with some of his quotes, and Ryu says things that you would expect from him. MvC3 also has quotes just based on character match-ups or team choices; it adds a nice touch to the voice work. The music is fantastic in MvC3 with character specific themes, as well as great menu themes. They even brought back the famous “Take You for a Ride” with a few remixes as well.
MvC3 has an online component that will please a lot of people, but also disappoint others. While MvC3 has Ranked, Player, and Lobby Battles which you would expect they dropped the ball on the 8-player lobby system. In games like Super Street Fighter 4 and Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix, lobby play allows those not playing to be able to spectate the matches while they wait for their turn. MvC3 is missing this option as of right now, and hopefully will be rectified in a patch soon. Other than that the online is great. You can enjoy player matches to test your skills against others for fun, or you can jump in a ranked match and battle against the best for points. With online play MvC3 is going to give you a ton of replay value.
Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two worlds is one of the best fighting games ever made, and will give you a fun experience for years to come. With the possibility for DLC the roster could reach into the 50’s and we could see new modes, new stages, and plenty more. If you like fighting games, super heroes, or just having fun in general then Marvel vs Capcom 3 is the game for you. Don’t be a Jimmy and go out and get yourself a copy. Tell your friends to get it, you won’t be disappointed.
Bottom Line: BUY IT!

The characters I wanna play with so bad in Street Fighter x Tekken.
After watching all the character trailers again and again, it was really hard for me to choose. But at the end of the day, my choice was so easy for the simple reason that ps3 is my main system and has never wronged me (except for my fat one's laser dying on me). I'm going with Pac-man and Juri. Originally I was all for cody and guy after one trailer because I love 'Final Fight' so much (this game includes some return characters that I haven't seen since alpha and final fight), but then I saw the 5th cinematic trailer. I got real pumped up for juri and bison. In ssf4, when I first picked up juri, she was loads of fun to play with (originally my main was blanka, TO THIS DAY I STILL THINK THEY SHOULD'VE PUT HIS SMOOTHIE TAUNT BACK!) and her combos flowed so smoothly, at least for me. Plus, look at her...she is completely hot imho. It would've been nice if she had the same broken powers that she had in the OVA. Another thing I like about SFxT is that to do hypers, you only need to do the DP movement once (like in umvc3) which is a good thing since I can concentrate more on doing combos instead of having to stand still and do it or it not registering my input on the second DP movement before I press the last button to execute it. Mind you, this game doesn't seem as crazy as umvc3, but it sure does show the speed and flow of chaining combos left and right that I love about the 'vs series' in general.
Now about Pac-man, I only have one thing to say since sadly, there aren't any gameplay trailers of him that I'm aware of as of yet and that thing is this: "IT'S BLOODY PAC-MAN! IN A MOKUJIN MECH!!" Now I don't know about you, but when I saw that (along with me laughing at the NA art megaman's antics) I stopped laughing for a second and was getting excited thinking of beating the shit out of ryu or even kazuya with pac-man. I really do hope they allow the ps3 exclusive characters for tournaments.
Now I'm a bit curious to hear about everybody else's team.
