BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Reveal Trailer

By: Arthvader Aug 17, 2012 | 4 Comments

Arc System Works reveals the next chapter in the BlazBlue saga.

I'm glad to see that they're making another Blazblue game.

I like the new characters that are going to be added. Azrel looks like a total badass. Bullet looks as if she can kick ass. As for Amane, I don't know what to say about him, other than his fighting style looks interesting.

I also like how some of the returning cast is going to have some changes in moves, as well as appearance (Noel, in Particular).

Currently slated for Arcades in Winter 2012, and for PS3. No word yet on the 360 ver.

Could this be good news for Guilty Gear fans?

By: DragonKiss83 May 24, 2011 | 2 Comments

It has been a while since we've seen a new Guilty Gear, but the name seems to be coming up more often.

This was were I got hooked on the Guilty Gear series and also one of the first of many Atlus games I would play for years.  I still have an original copy of the game close by.

But it has been a while since we've had a new game.  And that Accent Core crap doesn't count.

Recently though there was a comment by Daisuke Ishiwatari saying that Guilty Gear fans will see another game eventually.  Not much to go from, but it was better than nothing.  We also find out Dizzy will be making an appearance in Queens Gate http://gouki.com/Story/Details/queens-gate-spiral-chaos-will-feature-noel-vermillion-of-blazb .  And today we get this http://www.siliconera.com/2011/05/24/arc-system-works-now-owns-the-rights-to-guilty-gear/ .

The short version is that when Sega and Sammy joined Sammy still had the rights to the IP.  While Sega Sammy Holdings had Guilty Gear Arc System Works put out BlazBlue.  A game I was fortunate enough to get from here http://gouki.com/Story/Details/thanks-for-blazblue-calamity-trigger-limited-edition .  But it just isn't the same.  And recently Arc System Works has filed a trademark for Guilty Gear in Japan and it was published today in the database.

We still don't have anything official to go on, but this enough to give hope.

BlazBlue character set to get dirty?

Noel Vermillion may be getting ready to show some skin.

Mai Shiranui will be there also.

It's a special kind of strategy RPG being brought to Japan by Namco Bandai, for some reason I don't see it making it to the US.  If you notice that the game has a panic button you might understand why we won't get it over here.

This is another game adaptation of the anime Queen's Blade. http://fierceanime.com/Story/Details/queens-blade--swords--ta

And here is a video for the game.

What? No Guilty Gear?

By: LegendaryLonewolf Apr 7, 2011 | 3 Comments

On the latest interview with Daisuki Ishiwatari and Toshimichi Mori of Arc System Works, they speak about Guilty Gear and what the future holds for the company.

In a fairly large interview with Eurogamer, Daisuki Ishiwatari and Toshimichi Mori of Arc System Works spoke of their company's recent efforts and what we can expect from the m and their IPs in the near future. Sadly, that future is very bleak for fans of Guilty Gear, as they said point-blank that seeing another entry in the series anytime soon is unlikely. When asked the question "What ever happened to Guilty Gear? Why did you stop making it?", Ishiwatari responded "Guilty Gear got too hardcore for some people, so we wanted to reset the level of entrance. BlazBlue was the answer to it. Also, the generation of Guilty Gear players has become a certain age – maybe a little bit too old for playing games. So making that reset brings in a new generation of fighting game players. Then they will be with us for the next few years." The interview itself holds a lot more information that doesn't necessarily pertain to Guilty Gear, and is a pretty good read.

Arcana Heart 3 on April 19th

By: DragonKiss83 Apr 4, 2011 | 9 Comments

23 characters, 23 arcana styles, lots of possible combinations

I missed out on the first two games, but now that I have this one in my sights I have to try it.  With 23 playable characters and 23 ways to play each one you have hundreds of choices.

Can anyone fill me in on the story for the first 2?  This one is supposed to have story for each character, an ending, and some art.

Here are the character introductions

And some combos

It's only a few weeks away now, and I'm being told it's downloadable and about 30.00, I'ld rather have a physical copy, but we'll see.

Don't be a Jimmy! You want to play this?  Know anything about the series?  Let's hear what you got.
