Battleborn delayed until May

By: BatRastered Nov 9, 2015 | 1 Comments

Prev Feb 9, now May 3

Battleborn just wrapped up its closed technical test. It seems Gearbox wants more time to polish the game up based on what they've learned.

"We at Gearbox are feeling energized by the data of our Closed Technical Test, and the additional time will allow us to better act on the feedback for Battleborn competitive and cooperative play when it releases.  We sincerely appreciate your patience as we work tirelessly on Battleborn. We look forward to sharing the Open Beta with everyone next year."

Previously scheduled for Feb 9, 2016, Battleborn will now ship out May 3, 2016.

Battleborn May 3 2016

Coming Feb 9, 2016

From the creators of Borderlands comes Battleborn, a new first-person shooter for every kind of badass available on February 9, 2016 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Command 25 unique heroes and save the universe from the brink of extinction! Fight alone or alongside friends, play story missions or mow down foes in competitive multiplayer matches.
Four new badasses enter the fray in this trailer: Ambra, Reyna, Mellka, and Benedict

Oh boy, more stuff to gather.

Did you like Borderlands? I did. It's one of my favorites.

Did you like Borderlands 2? I did for a while. It was fun leveling up and through the first two playthroughs. The later added third playthough was a chore though and lessened the fun for me. The only DLC I enjoyed was the D&D inspired Tiny Tina one and that was mostly for the story as the guns were crap. BL2 had some serious issues with loot, as in not giving it out, and not having the same variety and overpowered fun feel of the first. Also many of the guns used 2, 4, or even 6 bullets per shot which really hurt ammo management, forcing you to scour every box and other lootable item in the game just to keep firing. But it's still a worthwhile game if you can get it cheap with all DLC included.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel takes place chronologically in between the two games (hence the odd title), but make no mistake, this is BL2's engine.

Join Sir Hammerlock and TORGUE on an EXPLOSIVE tour of Pandora’s moon, Elpis, in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. MOON MONSTERS, deadly new foes, LASER WEAPONS, cryogenic elementals, LOW GRAVITY, erm, butt slams, AND MORE AWAIT YOU ON ELPIS!

The game is not intresting me right now since it's basically Borderlands 2 engine with different story/characters, amounting to a giant DLC and I didn't like the endgame of BL2 very much. I felt they went backwards from the first game a bit and now this game is made by a third party. Outscourcing! However, The humor of Borderlands has always been spot on and this trailer is no different. If you enjoyed Mr Torgue shouting at you in the DLC before, you'll enjoy this video at least.

Now here's some ACTUAL gameplay: Watch the full PAX East 2014 Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel demo, narrated by developers from Gearbox Software and 2K Australia.

This is a game using the previous games engine to put out a quick one-off this year while Gearbox focuses on next-gen full-on sequel. I'm not sure how I feel about the seeming cash-in nature of this, especially in light of how BL2 fizzled at end-game, but I'll probably play this at some point on PC. BL2 was still fun leveling up.
