Kojima Talks: Solid Snake Was Supposed to Die?!

By: jalexbrown Nov 20, 2011 | 75 Views | 3 Comments

Official Playstation Magazine UK will be printing an interview with Hideo Kojima in its next issue where he will discuss Metal Gear Solid 5 and Project Ogre.

It's coming right out of the man's mouth; Solid Snake was supposed to die.  What does that mean for the future of the franchise?  Is Solid Snake's death inevitable?  I have a feeling Hideo Kojima won't be spoiling the story - most likely the very, very verbose story - of Metal Gear Solid: Rising or Metal Gear Solid 5, but it'll still be interesting to see what he has to say on the matter.

The interview will run in Official Playstation magazine UK in its 65th issue, which will be released November 29th.  I've contacted the publisher to try and find out if the interview will be printed in the next US issue, but I've received no response thus far.  I'll keep you Jimmys informed.

Z.O.E.: Zone of the Enders to return on the 3DS?

By: neiogeo Aug 16, 2011 | 265 Views | 4 Comments

Hideo Kojima's at it again! An image posted on his Twitter page recently has fans buzzing with excitement...is there another Z.O.E. on the way?

From the Twitter...Sneaky, Sneaky Kojima-san...

Translation: "Omori what you like to sit. What's this?"

Titled "Z.O.E.: 3DZ" behind the series' protagonist orbital frame "Jehuty" , the picture was posted on Hideo Kojima's twitter page, citing that this was sitting on Takahiro Omori's desk at Konami Headquarters.

Takahiro Omori's work can be seen throughout the "Metal Gear Solid" franchise and the first "Zone of the Enders".

Speculation has run rampant throughout the Konami Community that Mr. Omori's on-board for some kind of adaptation of the original ZOE, or an entirely new outing, exclusively for the 3DS.

The last time ZOE entered the handheld arena was with 2002's "Zone of the Enders: The Fist of Mars", a neo-strategy/RPG set years after the events of the first two games. The title received mixed reviews for its' story and visuals, and its' unique FPS-esque battle interface. The franchise has been on hiatus since then, only appearing in anime form as "Zone of the Enders:IDOLO" and the OVA "Zone of the Enders: Dolores".

Hideo Kojima, did however, announce that "Zone of the Enders 3" would happen in the near future...

What do you guys think? Zone of the Enders' art style would work perfectly on the 3DS, with its' neon TRON-like visuals already employing that "3D" feel.

Also, we have to figure the 3DS could heavily benefit from more AAA titles from companies like Konami to bring in fan interest and spur up sales. The question is, if true, could a ZOE game reel in new fans willing to shell out the cash for the 3DS and the game?

Only time, and Kojima-san, will tell.

Comparison video of MGS3 on the ps2 and the 3DS. And a trailer.

By: grey walrus Jun 5, 2011 | 258 Views | 6 Comments

It's not a finished build of the 3DS version, but it's looking pretty good so far. There's also a trailer in here showing off some of the new 3DS exclusive features.

This video shows part of the opening sequence to Snake Eater on the 3DS and the ps2 side by side. It's pretty neat to see how the 3DS version is coming along. A lot of stuff looks better on it, but certain things still look better on the ps2. This isn't  a finished version so that might end up changing, but it'll give you an idea of what the finished product will be.

And here's the new 3DS trailer showing off some of the new features for snake eater. The camouflage system seems neat, but I'm really hoping the gyro scope can be turned off.

What do you think? Is this version going to live up to your expectations, or will you just get the remade version on 360? Or maybe even both.
