Get your fight stick ready for Xbox One

By: vicko Jan 10, 2014 | 2 Comments

If you have a current fight stick that you want to add Xbox One capability to, Vicko is your man!

With the release of the xbox one came limited options for playing your favorite fighting games on the new console. You could A) Play on pad or B) play on Madcatz' newest fight stick. If you've already got a nice stick that's well broken in and don't want additional hardware, look no further than vickomods.com

This service will run $120 and is completely tournament legal by disabling the on board wireless functionality of the pad inside. If you're behind on the times on mod technology and compete in several fighting games across different consoles, I also provide mods for PS3/PC as well as legacy consoles.

Blinging out the EVO fightstick

By: BatRastered Aug 9, 2012 | 4 Comments

I recently purchased a limited edition EVO fightstick from MadCatz and decided to get it dual modded and blinged out with some LED buttons. Check out the results here!

Check out my new fightstick. I bought the limited EVO edition of the MadCatz PRO fightstick for the XBox 360. I'm a fan of the Pro model for it's shape and lack of screws on the top plate, but I didn't want a SFxT stick, so I jumped on that EVO stick when it went up for sale on line! Here it is before it was modded:

Fightstick Before Modding

Not a bad looking stick, I dig the clear case and clean artwork. The PS3 version looks better though with its all white buttons on the face. I can't believe MS forces the rainbow colors on the manufacturers. I wanted my new fightstick to work with both the XBox and PS3, so I had the stick modded by local Vegas pro Vicko, check out his site at VickoMods.com. He also talked me into getting a fancy LED board. Well, at the very least I wanted to get rid of those rainbow buttons and have them all the same color, so might as well replace them with the clear buttons. But, yeah let's do the LED too! The stick works great on both systems now, no switches either, it auto-detects and just works!

Here's some of the circuitry under construction:

After the stick was finished (unpowered) note the new wiring:
After modding, unlit

And finally all lit up:

As an extra bonus, check out this video of the stick in action:

Yeah, it's pretty badass, there are dozens of effects you can program into it, I've only played with half of them.

I highly recommend getting your stick dual modded... at $80 done by a professional, you can't go wrong. Way cheaper than buying a second stick and tons more convenient too! The LED mod is totally unnecessary, but if you can swing it, it will certainly make your fightstick stand out. Of course, you could accomplish that with some custom artwork too for a lot cheaper if that's your thing.

If you grew up in American arcades you know fight sticks nowadays just aren't the same. That's because back then they were different. Watch this installation video & transformation into an old school American style stick.

Installation:

  • Sanwa Octagonal Restrictor Gate
  • Sanwa Bat top

Both the items were purchased from FoucsAttack.com. Total price including shipping $17.20 USD.

Here's the video recorded during the installation. I've never done anything like this. Listen closely for some pro-tips.
