Blinging out the EVO fightstick

By: BatRastered Aug 9, 2012 | 4 Comments

I recently purchased a limited edition EVO fightstick from MadCatz and decided to get it dual modded and blinged out with some LED buttons. Check out the results here!

Check out my new fightstick. I bought the limited EVO edition of the MadCatz PRO fightstick for the XBox 360. I'm a fan of the Pro model for it's shape and lack of screws on the top plate, but I didn't want a SFxT stick, so I jumped on that EVO stick when it went up for sale on line! Here it is before it was modded:

Fightstick Before Modding

Not a bad looking stick, I dig the clear case and clean artwork. The PS3 version looks better though with its all white buttons on the face. I can't believe MS forces the rainbow colors on the manufacturers. I wanted my new fightstick to work with both the XBox and PS3, so I had the stick modded by local Vegas pro Vicko, check out his site at VickoMods.com. He also talked me into getting a fancy LED board. Well, at the very least I wanted to get rid of those rainbow buttons and have them all the same color, so might as well replace them with the clear buttons. But, yeah let's do the LED too! The stick works great on both systems now, no switches either, it auto-detects and just works!

Here's some of the circuitry under construction:

After the stick was finished (unpowered) note the new wiring:
After modding, unlit

And finally all lit up:

As an extra bonus, check out this video of the stick in action:

Yeah, it's pretty badass, there are dozens of effects you can program into it, I've only played with half of them.

I highly recommend getting your stick dual modded... at $80 done by a professional, you can't go wrong. Way cheaper than buying a second stick and tons more convenient too! The LED mod is totally unnecessary, but if you can swing it, it will certainly make your fightstick stand out. Of course, you could accomplish that with some custom artwork too for a lot cheaper if that's your thing.

Borderlands 2 gets final box art, details of limited editions

By: BatRastered May 17, 2012 | 8 Comments | Updated: May 25, 2012

Gearbox today revealed the final artwork for the Borderlands 2 box plus the details of the contents of the limited edition and the loot chest edition. Pics inside.

You can see the new box art here, it's a call back to the original game where the bandit was blowing his brains out with his fingers made to look like a gun. Now there are two "finger guns" so you know it Borderlands 2. Clever.

More importantly, Gearbox announced what we'll be getting if we order one of the two limited edtions. First up is the Deluxe Vault Hunter's Collectors Edition ($99) which includes an authentic Marcus Kincaid bobble head, hardbound art book, map of Pandora, comic book download and a four sticker set.

Next up we have the Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition ($149) which includes  packs an exclusive SteelBook case, numbered certificate of authenticity, creatures of Pandora wide format ID chart and four lithograph postcards with a Marcus Kincaid bobble head, hardbound art book, cloth map of Pandora, comic book download and four sticker set - all packed in a replica loot chest!

That's a lot of stuff. Don't tell @Choke that  the Ultimate edition is numbered or it'll be on his flip list!

Cloth Map FTW!
