Hitman: Absolution is the upcoming fifth title in the Hitman series by producer, IO Interactive. Hitman: Absolution will be the first game in the series to be published by Square Enix, after their 2009 acquisition of Eidos Interactive. The game will be available for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Notably, it is the series' debut on the PlayStation 3 console. Hitman: Absolution will run on IO Interactive's proprietary Glacier 2 game engine, combining classic Hitman game mechanics with brand new mechanics. The game's story will further delve into the mysterious life of Agent 47, the series' protagonist. Hitman: Absolution was properly unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 in Los Angeles.
