Ryu is perhaps the most famous character in the Street Fighter series. His humble beginnings to his uprising in ability to topple the giant champions of the world made him the fighter we all wished to be. The Satsui No Hado has taken full form. Ryu's life was spared in the battle with Akuma and as a result, has fully engulfed Ryu with it's dark influence. Now all thirsts for is blood and a fight to the death worthy of his new found power.
Reader's Note: The following story can be played with Evil Ryu's Theme video and Gouken vs Ryu Theme video when prompted to.
After the battle with Oni, Gouken has taken some peace in the immediate area and has decided to go into the closest town to observe fighters of today's generation. As we he walks through, he notices the town is mostly empty at first glance. He see's posters plastered everywhere of a wanted man. Upon closer inspection, Gouken is surprised to see Ryu on the posters! Taken over by the dark hado, Gouken decides to stop Ryu from ravaging the town and re-seal the Satsui No Hado. He hears some yelling and screaming in the distance as he approaches the middle of the town. Behind him, he hears a voice, "Master?? Hey! Wait up!" (Gouken) "Ken? What brings you to this town?". Ken catches his breath and explains. (Ken) "Master, it's Ryu! He's in trouble! He fought against Akuma and was struck with the Shun Goku Satsu[Raging Demon]! The finishing blow nearly killed Ryu but in that moment the Satsui No Hado was released and Ryu embraced it's power!" (Gouken) "Hmm...I see." Gouken took a few seconds for thought. Akuma had already given him too much trouble as it was for him to have turned Ryu into a killer, it must have been before his battle with the villian Gouken thought, for Ken seemed to possess no knowledge that Akuma had become Oni. For now however, Gouken needed to focus on bringing Ryu's humanity back. (Gouken) "Ken, listen closely, go to Ryu and tell him a powerful warrior awaits him for a fight to the death." (Ken) "Master?". (Gouken) "He will not be able to resist....now GO!" (Ken) I'm on it!!" Ken takes off to find Ryu, a look of determination is left on Gouken's face. What if he had killed Akuma all those years ago, would he have thwarted all this chaos.....but now was not the time, Gouken took off for the forest.
[Activate Evil Ryu's Theme]
Ken finds Ryu with a civilian being choked and risen off the ground. (Ken) "PUT HIM DOWN RYU!!" The dark warrior slowly looks upon Ken, a devious smile on his face. (Ken) "You a real fight?? There's a more powerful warrior than you waiting in the forest for a fight to the death!!" Evil Ryu looks upon Ken, he's caught his attention. He drops the man, discarding him like common trash. (Evil Ryu) "More powerful you say......heh heh heh ah ha ha ha! I HIGHLY DOUBT THAT! I will kill him as well as you!!!" Evil Ryu fires a dark Hadouken at Ken, but Ken dodges out of the way. Ken takes off through the town, Evil Ryu following closely behind. As Ken is running through the town, destruction is left behind in Evil Ryu's wake as he fires dark fireballs towards Ken. The chase brings them to the entrance edge of the forest. Ken quickly hides in the tress. (Evil Ryu) "WHERE ARE YOU!!?". Ken waits for his master in anticipation. Gouken prepares to step forward. A voice speaks to Evil Ryu, "You disappoint me Ryu." The dark warrior looks towards the shadowy trees, a tall fighter steps from the shadows. (Sagat) "I expected more integrity from you". To Gouken's and Ken's surprise, Sagat has surfaced and is apparently challenging Evil Ryu!!!
(Evil Ryu) "HA HA HA! THIS IS THE POWERFUL WARRIOR!? Tell me Sagat....does it still hurt? DOES THE SCAR I GAVE YOU STILL THRIVE WITH AGONY??". (Sagat) "My scar only reminds me of how far I've come as a warrior. I would think of all people.....you would be the one to understand a fighter's spirit is greater than any pain a punch can inflict. You've given in to the Satsui No Hado, your integrity is lost, your fists will have no honor......BUT I, RYU, WILL HELP YOU TO RECOVER THAT HONOR!" (Evil Ryu) "I CRAVE TO YOU SEE YOU TRY!!". Sagat runs forward to Evil Ryu and attacks with a Tiger Knee! Evil Ryu blocks it and counters with a Hurricane Kick! Sagat blocks the barrages of kicks then grabs the dark warrior to throw him but Evil Ryu counters by headbutting Sagat in the face! Sagat staggers but quickly regains composure! Evil Ryu dashes in and attacks with a right and left hook, Sagat blocks left to right then counters with a thrusting kick to Evil Ryu's chest! Evil Ryu blocks with both arms and the two warriors disband.
(Sagat) "Your fighting prowess has increased, Ryu. But you communicate with anger and hatred. Such lust for power will only be your ultimate downfall." (Evil Ryu) "I COULD NOT EXPECT A WEAKLING LIKE YOU TO UNDERSTAND OR BEGIN TO EVEN COMPREHEND THE POWER I NOW WEILD!.....BUT I WILL KILL YOU AND SHOW YOU FIRST HAND WHAT I CAN DO!" Evil Ryu begins to rush in. Sagat stays focused. He stands and closes his eye. Sagat thinks to himself "Ryu, were it not for you, I would have found myself an immature and selfish fighter, fueled by only the will to win. Now, I see the greatness of becoming a a true fighter, one not only with the goal to surpass his limitations, but with the goal to find an inner peace and joy through the art of communicating with one's fist. Ryu.....I WILL BRING YOU BACK FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME!" Sagat opens his eye right as Evil Ryu descends upon him and Sagat then unleashes his Tiget Cannon! A powerfully focused energy blast!! He fires it point blank on Evil Ryu and a huge explosion erupts from the impact! Clouds of dust and debree cover the area, Sagat seperates himslef from the area and observes the cloud of smoke. Gouken and Ken watch from a distance. An serious look on both of their faces. Ken's eyes show concern for his friend Ryu. The clouds of smoke and debree begin to disappear and a shadowy figure is positioned at it's center. Immense energy begins to be drawn into it's center, dark energy accumilating into sphere begins to glow brightly. Evil Ryu has survived and is ready to counter with his Metsu Hadouken!!! (Sagat) "Damn, not even a scratch..." (Evil Ryu) "AH HA HA HA HA! YOU ARE NOTHING! NOW, HAAA DIEEEE!!!" The powerful energy sphere speeds over to Sagat , Sagat stands as if to face his fate, closes his eye.
[Activate Gouken vs Ryu Theme]
Out from the distance and blinding speed, Gouken appears before Sagat! (Gouken) "Not today!" Gouken uses the Power Of Nothingness to manipulate and transfer it's power to his own, a technique he discoverd in the fight with Oni. (Evil Ryu) "What?" (Gouken) "Ryu."...(Evil Ryu) "Old man....errrr.....ugh.....YOU WILL NOT STAND IN MY WAY!" (Gouken) Ryu, it is not too late to turn your back on this madness. I know you are still in there and I will help you see it." (Evil Ryu) "NO! This hadou......IT GRANTS ME POWER, INCREDIBLE POWER! AND I WILL KILL ANY AND ALL WHO STAND IN MY WAY!!!" Gouken's face displays intent determination to silence the dark hado from his former student. (Gouken) "Sagat, allow me to fight in your stead, I must teach my student one final lesson" Sagat looks at Gouken with a sudden stare of awe....(Sagat) ".....I understand". Gouken knods as Sagat joins Ken on the battlefield's side. (Evil Ryu) " I AM TIRED OF WAITING!" Evil Ryu fires a dark hadouken at Gouken, but Gouken uses his Dashing Palm to bypass and dodge the fireball, striking Evil Ryu in his stomach with great speed! (Evil Ryu) "Ugh! OLD MAN YOU WILL NOT LEAVE THIS FIGHT ALIVE!" Evil Ryu rushes in and begins barrage Gouken with punches and kicks. Gouken blocks and dodges the blows hit per hit. Evil Ryu fakes a right kick and 360's into a lunging right punch! Gouken blocks the blow but the fist spirals throught his arms barely touching his chest! The light touch feels like a bee sting to Gouken. Evil Ryu has developed a fighting style that incorporates a burining sensation upon each hit to maximize pain inflicted on his opponents! Gouken looks at Evil Ryu. A malicious grin on his face. (Evil Ryu) "WHAT'S THE MATTER OLD MAN!!?" Evil Ryu lunges forward again with his left fist but Gouken catches his wrist and directs Evil Ryu's body to his Gouken's left elbow, landing a blow to Evil Ryu's side! (Evil Ryu) "RRRRGGHH I WILL KILL YOU!" Evil Ryu's red aura blazes and the Satsui No Hado begins pouring out of the hole in his chest! Gouken see's the source of it's power and sees the opening to end the fight!
Evil Ryu rushes towards Gouken at blinding speed and Gouken readies himself. Evil Ryu undleashes his Messatsu Goshoryu!!! But Gouken applies an EX Kongoshin, a counter to disable and attack Evil Ryu, stopping his attack full force! Evil Ryu is knocked away spinning in the air. Gouken, with inhuman speed, rushes in to the spinning Evil Ryu. While in Evil Ryu is spinning in mid air, Gouken quickly uses The Power Of Nothingness to seal in the Satsui No Hado, applying multiple key points to act as seals. The act displays almost a dance in magnificence. In the next moment, Evil Ryu crashes to the ground. The red aura disappears. Ken and Sagat walk over to Gouken. (Ken) "Is he...going to be okay?" (Gouken) "Attend to him, he will be fine" Ken rushes over to Ryu, his appearance now back to normal. A scar on his chest of the former gaping whole is visible. Gouken begins to take leave. (Sagat) "Gouken!". Gouken stops but doesn't turn around. (Sagat) "Thank You." Gouken then begins to move forward disappears into distance, a setting sun obscuring his figure. Sagat turns to Ken. (Sagat) "Ken, I will take my leave, but Ryu wakes up, tell him I wish to challenge him when he's at full stregnth." Ken pauses, and then smiles. (Ken) "You got it!" Sagat then leaves. Ryu's eyes begin to open. (Ken) "Ryu!" (Ryu) "What happened..." (Ken) "Ryu.....hahaha! You've been given a second chance man, you've been given a second chance..."

Axton has quickly moved up my list of favorite characters in BL2, his turret action skill is quite good on its own, but with the right skills and weapons you can do the work of two players by yourself.
First the Survival Tree, I'm not a big fan of this.
You can see the relative offensive weakness of this build at about 4:45 in the video I throw a turret on each side of a basic loader, and I still have to kill it myself. I don't recommend the turret without the rocket pods. :) If you had 3 more points you could get the Scorched Earth rocket pods too. So with the 11 levels coming April 2, that's what I'd suggest first. If I did this over, I'd probably go with the rockets over the longbow just for the damage boost, but mag-lock without longbow is not very useful and Battlefront (extra damage when the turret is out for all your guns and grenades) is just so damn useful that I can't really recommend either version of this build unless you get the level cap DLC and get all 3 this build falls apart.
Now the Guerilla tree, the fun starts to pick up.
This is a good damage build with decent survivability. It allows the turret to slag, which is useful and will be even better in the upcoming third play through. The turret also has rocket pods and a shield. As far as Axton himself, he gets to carry 5 extra grenades and his shield will be recharging quickly most of the time. This is a good build that will only get better with the 11 new levels, allowing you to either add longbow and battlefront or get the twin Gemini turrets. Very versatile.
Finally we get to Gunpowder. NUKE!
This build is a great all around build as well, you still get the rocket pods from Guerilla and a good amount of defense, but you get a ton of DPS both from your nuke turret (basically an awesome, rechargeable grenade) and the use of the Battlefront skill. You'll note the Kerblaster assault rifle in the video shoots a projectile that explodes, drops a grenade and explodes again. This works with all the grenade damage boost skills too so this is my current favorite high DPS build. With 11 more skill points you can reach the slag turret too (double up, at the bottom of Guerilla tree) which will make this build very useful for the third play through. Also, nuking things is fun. :)

Raychul Moore, long time friend of Gouki.com recently visited San Diego Comic-Con. She has a few great stories to tell from the event. From random Jimmys hating on the Booker DeWitt gender swap & of course the 12 year nuabs I mentioned.
Me? I don't know how I feel about the gender swap stuff, but that's 1 of her gimmicks & that's fine. She's easily the most popular girl I know who is doing that. A little weird yeah, but she makes it work. My only thing is like the Drake, she did Drake from Uncharted a few years back. She had on the same thing he did, long sleeve shirt & jeans. That's definitely more of a personal thing, she wasn't trying to appeal to any sex there. What am I talking about at this point? The Booker DeWitt was definitely sexier, but she explains why in the video below. Plus there's the whole story about the 12 year olds & Cammy's butt.

With the right cross class abilities you can manipulate HQ items 3-4 levels ahead of you. You can make a ton of money while leveling up. Read my biggest crafting secrets right now. Watch exclusive video of my techniques in always get HQ items.
I'm buying HQ raw materials & HQing them into more HQ materials. Any material that stacks to 99 is my favorite to level up on. For example. I'll make HQ Dew Thread from HQ Diremite Web I purchased at the market place. There's always some random Jimmy that post a couple real cheap. I buy those until I have a stack of like 60+ & I'm ready to craft.
Here's a look at what I think our the most important crafting cross class abilities in FFXIV.
#1 Tricks of the Trade (Alchemy)
It randomly gives you 20CP back. You get this to pop 5 times, that's 100 CP back. Spend that extra CP on another Master's Mend & get 3 more chances.
#2 Careful Synthesis (Weaver)
Guaranteed. This ability guarantees progress. It'll get yuu slightly less progress than Basic Synthesis, but you can figure out what that number is going to be right away & decide where & how to use this ability. Plan you entire synth around Careful Synthesis being the last thing you do.
#3 Rumination (Carpenter)
This ability also gives you CP back & does not cost any durability.
"Removes Inner Quiet effect and restores CP proportional to the number of times control was increased."
Turn on Inner Quiet immediately. Wait for a chance to use Tricks of the Trade & move on. Watch any of my crafting videos for this technique.
#4 Hasty Touch (Culinarian)
This move will improve quality with no CP. BUT it's 50/50. I'm not sure if Steady Hand effects this ability. Either way, it is the 4th best ability to choose from. Imagine you're down to 17CP & 20 Durability. Use Hasty Touch for the hell of it. It's a free chance to increase quality.
#5 Rapid Synthesis (Armorer)
Just like Hasty Touch, this ability is 50/50. I really don't know what to say about this ability. It might get you out of a jam if you ever miscalculate a synth or make a mistake. It rushes down progress at 250%.
#6 Waste Not (Leatherworker)
This cost 56CP. I don't like anything that costs CP because I only want to use that for Basic Touch.
#7 Manipulation (Goldsmith)
This cost 88CP! Can't use this, Master's Mend & get 3 or more Basic Touchs off. It just doesn't work. I can't afford that CP.
#8 Ingenuity (Blacksmith)
"Lowers recipe level to current level for the next five steps."
I'm already HQing stuff 4-5 levels ahead of me. You can't do stuff 10 levels ahead of you, so why would you ever need this?

Goukijones, Batrasterd, and I take on Pete the Invincible using a glitch to our advantage.
On Wednesday, January 16, Goukijones, Batrasterd, and I went and took on the raid boss of Mr. Tourge's Campaign of Carnage, Pete the Invincible. Does this updated version of The King of Fighters 98 keep up with its predecessors? Find out in this review.
I've been a fan of The King of Fighters Series for a long time now. 98 was one of my favorite in the series. The first time I had a chance to try this game was at Metrocon 2008, in which I was able to play it on the PS2, through an imported copy. I was hooked to the updated ver., I ended up going on a huge winning streak. when the convention was over. I did alot of searching, seeing if this port would arrive to the US. it wasn't until 1 year later when the game was released onto Xbox live. right away, I picked it up and played it for a very, very long time, mastering my characters, and beating people senselessly online, and meeting plenty of friends. several years later, I'm ready to give my review for this game.
As you can see from the main menu for this game, the game offers various game modes. ARCADE PLAY is the standard 3-on-3 team battle mode. SINGLE PLAY is the 1-on-1, best two out of three battle mode. ENDLESS is pretty much a survival mode, testing how much you can knock out until you are knocked out yourself. with every game, there is a PRACTICE mode so that you can try out new techniques. the CHALLENGE mode offers 30 different missions which tests your very skill at the game, which can vary anywhere between doing a simple command, performing complicated combos, and even beating a set of enemies (I'm looking at you, challenge #21). NEOGEO MODE actually switches over to the classic KoF 98, which was one of my favorite game in the series. Xbox LIVE is the last one I'll mention, as it is your online mode.
The standard battle format in The King of Fighters series is a 3-on-3 team battle, in which the objective is to knock out all of your opponent's characters. Befor selecting your characters, though, you'll need to select a style. In 98UM, you could choose between ADVANCED, EXTRA, or ULTIMATE. ADVANCED allows players to dash, use a roll evasion, and have a three stock meter, in which it gains and extra stock whenever you lose a character, for up to a total of 5 stocks. EXTRA allows players to quick step, dodge in place, and a meter that they can charge. As for ULTIMATE, this will allow players to mix and match between both the ADVANCED and EXTRA, allowing for a unique setup, such as having the stock meter and dash, but having the dodge instead of the roll evasion, etc...
The game's roster consists of up to 42 characters, with some of them spanning from various SNK games (Fatal Fury, Art of Fighting, Ikari Warriors, Psycho Soldier). Some of these characters also has an extra version that can be selected by holding a certain button before selecting the character. Personally, My main character, and personal favorite of mine, is Athena Asamiya, the female member of the Psycho Soldiers team.
in terms of the controls, there are four main buttons: Light punch, Light kick, Hard Punch, and Hard kick. when both light buttons are pressed, depending on your choice of style, will allow you to do the roll evasion, or dodge. when you have at least have one stock in your meter (ADVANCED), or a fully charged meter (EXTRA), by pressing light punch, light kick, and hard punch at the same time, you will go into what's called MAX mode for a limited time. In Max mode, your attacks are stronger, and when you perform your SDM (Super Desperation Move, aka Super move), it'll be more powerful, visual changes will appear, and after the attack, you'll be out of max mode. Using a SDM will cost one stock out of the meter, and if you're not in MAX mode, and have three stocks, you could do the MAX mode verion of the SDM at the cost of three stocks. the last thing I'm going to mention is the assist attack, in order to do an assist attack, you have to be dizzied on your side of the field. if you still have people on your team that hasn't fought yet, when you are dizzied on your side, you can press light punch, light kick, and hard punch at the same time, and one of your partners will jump from the background and attack your opponent.
As you can tell from the screenshot (sorry, I couldn't find a better one at the moment), it still retains that classic KoF artstyle. Each of the stages were greatly improved from their original appearance, with some stages being new. This is what I grew up with when I play SNK games, and I'm glad for this type of style.
Just like with the graphics, the sound quailty retains its vales for the series just as well. For those who have the PS2 ver. players can switch between the original tracks and an arranged ver. of the soundtrack for the game. In my opinion, I like both versions of the music used in the game. All in all, this particular KoF game is one of my most favorite ones to play, in which I still do against some friends from time to time. nowadays, the game is pretty much dead online, so it'll be hard to find someone online unless you made an arrangement with a friend to meet up online for some battles. If you ever get this game, let me know if you want to have a couple of battles.

If I could describe the X-men Arcade game in one word it would be Disappointment.
Why you ask? Well I'll tell you why. I fondly remember going to the Arcade in San Diego California as a kid. Playing all sorts of games, blowing my hard earned money on good games, bad games, broken games (still pissed about those) and the best arcade games around. Back in the early '90s the top arcade games for me where the Beat 'Em Ups. The Simpsons Game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and who could forget the X-men Arcade game. Many of us had the 4-player cabinets in our local arcades, but some of us where lucky enough to have 6-player action at our fingertips... and just for a quarter (I miss those days).
I would spend hours beyond hours every week playing the X-men Arcade game. Meeting new people every time and having a blast. So I was stoked to find out that Konami was bringing this childhood classic back. At 800 MSP or $10 PSN I was sold. I bought this baby yesterday and to my surprise I was severely disappointed.
The game is exactly as I remember it, which is the problem. After 18 years I was expecting Konami to release an updated version, not just a smoothing filter. I wanted to have a remade X-men Arcade with updated sounds, graphics, and gameplay. Now I am not the person who hates the classics, or thinks they aren’t fun. My problem is that they could have had two games in one. X-men Arcade Classic, and a revamped version as well.
You have the choice between two version of X-men Arcade, USA and Japan. The Japanese version is better than the USA version solely because when you use a Mutant Power in the USA version it drains your life meter before using your energy orb. The Japanese version is the other way around. The USA version is much more difficult which would be a great challenge had the game had some sort of continue system. Instead you have unlimited lives, and can basically just spam Mutant Powers the entire time. Sure they take away your life energy, but who cares you can’t lose. Even online play has infinite continues. There is no way to change it either. So basically unless you’re like me and really want to try and relive the classic, you’ll try not to spam Mutant Powers.
My first play through was solo, and I beat it in 30 minutes. I spent $10 only to be jerked around for 30 minutes. This game welcomed me to die alright; I wanted to end my life and the game after playing it. The character selection is how you remember it, you can choose from; Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Colossus, Night Crawler, and The Dazzler (yes she is a real X-men) each character has his/her own Mutant Power. Cyclops shoots laser beams from his eyes, Storm strikes her enemies with lightning, Wolverine slashes his claws at his enemies (lamest Mutant Power), Colossus goes into rage and destroys enemies surrounding him, Night Crawler teleports across the screen and destroys anyone in his path, and The Dazzler who uses sound frequencies to destroy her enemies.
For the most part of the game you are fighting your way through sentinel after sentinel with a few other enemies here and there. There are also eight boss characters, Pyro, Blob, Wendigo, Nimrod, The White Queen, Juggernaut, Mystique and of course Magneto. Each boss is basically a push over save Magneto. As one falls after another you move onto a new level. The story of this game is basically Magneto threatens the city with his army of sentinels and Kidnaps Professor X and Kitty Pryde. It’s up to the X-men to Go and Save the City as well as rescue X and Kitty.
It’s a pretty simple game, only using 3 buttons; Attack, Jump, and Mutant Power, which makes for an easy to pick up and play game. Online play is done well, with the option of playing 6-player drop in drop out co-op with relatively no lag. The only issue here is even on expert difficulty, 6 players can run through the game in under 15 minutes. It’s really hard to suggest spending $10 for such a short time of play.
While the X-men Arcade game is still a great classic in my heart, this new version is just plagued with not adding anything new to the game in 18 years. I had fun playing it, but I think it’s a waste of $10 Jimmys. Buy it if you’re a huge fan and have to get your hands on it, but for the rest of you out there just Demo it

My 2nd FFXIV boss guide, Titan: Lord of crags Lv34
So we've all been having fun in the last couple of weeks and apart from the odd tough dungeon nothing really poised as a real threat.. Until now!
This has easily been my favourite fight so far as its enabled me to play a real support role and oversee the battle.
I struggled with Titan for a good few hours until I found a decent party through Duty Finder. Most players will be under equipped for the battle so make sure you have all up to date gear for Lv32-34
