This is a game that was on a lot of radars, then it got some bad reviews. For those of you who are undecided read before buying.
I have been a fan of the series since way back on the original NES. When Team Ninja decided to bring the franchise back I had high hopes. They pulled Ryu Hayabusa straight from their Dead or Alive series and made him shine. They even threw in a few other characters to tie things together. You got a game that hardcore gamers had been hoping for. When they followed it up with a sequel they delivered again. But for part three they lost Tomonobu Itagaki and Tecmo Koei joined in making the game. Reviews go from praising the game to saying it was reduced to a Dynasty Warriors hack and slash game. I've had fun with the Dynasty Warriors games but I hoped that Ninja Gaiden 3 hadn't been changed that much.
When my copy showed up in the mail it was open before I made it back into the house. It went immediately into my PS3 (I can feel the dirty looks) and I had a few hours to play before I had to cook dinner. Opening the game with a quick time event did not fill me with confidence. When the game actually gets started the let you glide down to the stage (guess someone liked Rocksteady's Batman) and you fight your way through a group of soldiers. Pure numbers, but that's is the case with low levels on most games. Seconds later a big ass mech pops up and I have already been given like 4 trophies. The game is feeling watered down, but it's to soon to believe the bad reviews. You scale a wall, L1, R1, L1, R1, ..... yeah that's not going to get old. And another trophy. Yeah they are trying to make the jimmys feel like they really did something instead of letting us get that feeling from actually playing. I guess that is how they made it more mainstream friendly.
When a soldier decides they are in over their head they beg for mercy, don't worry you don't have to show any. I did start to feel guilty eventually though. But not all enemies go so easy.
The first save point comes in the form of a falcon that makes noise and has a golden glow. No more looking for those damn statues. But it takes making it to the guy in red from the special edition statue before you get to a real fight. The learning curve felt like a major spike. But compared to the hack and slash pace that is a great thing. And the game finally feel normal. You also finally see the curse from the Dragon Blade show up. Some red smoke and you move slow, not what I expected.
Once you hit day two in the story you finally see some enemies that can put up a fight. My hopes for the game picked back up, for a while. You still see piles of enemies, but nothing like Dynasty Warriors. And you do get some battles to show you Hayabusa is a badass. Sadly unlike the other games you learn no new attacks or ninpo the one you have looks pretty nice though.
There is also only the sword and the bow, unlike the option we had last time around. That felt like a major step back. I almost forgot to mention that you no longer have items to bring your health back, it just happens after you clear the combat area. More watering down.
The game is also fairly short. Two days and I was done. The story wasn't bad, but I was far from being blown away. There is a multiplayer option, but I decided not to use the online pass and sell my game to try and get back part of my money.
As much as I hate to say it I give the game just a rent it. If it wasn't Ninja Gainden I'ld probably say flush it.

It's almost here!!!
Maya is looking BADASS! And have to love the fist bump.
What did you think of that beast at the end?
With Silicon Knights keeping the game very close those of us looking foe details have little to go on.
Acording to Denis Dyack from Silicon Knights that's just how he wants it. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/05/09/silicon-knights-denis-dyack-still-wary-of-game-previews-hints/
But there are still some bits that make their way out.
This little teaser shot hints at three playable characters. Aimi Yoshida http://gouki.com/Catalog/Details/x-men-destiny has got the most attention.
But while looking around online I found this.
Showing a male character in action.
We also see Quicksilver
And there has been talk about Woverine, Cyclops, and Emma Frost, Pyro, Nightcrawler, and Magneto in part because of the GameTrailers.com and other sites had a decent trailer.
And an official site http://www.herohq.com/xmendestiny that when you follow it to face books mentions that there is more comming at E3.
So far this is all I've found, but it's enough to start people off on all different topics. Making decisions that team you up or put you against the X-Men was confirmed. And Late 2011 for a date. Hopefully there will be some worthwile info from E3 to hold us over.
What do you want to see? Do you want more characters? Some footage of the combat system? More info about the other 2 characters you can play as? Let's here it.
Everyone with a smart phone, tablet, of kinect has played Angry Birds at least once, now you can do it as your favorite Star Wars characters.
The app actually came out yesterday, but I forgot. So this morning when I saw it I rushed to download it before I started my day. Normally I play with the sound off but I had to hear the sound affects. And they are good enough I will leave them on as I play later.
You get a few short little Star Wars vidoes then you are off on your first adventure to Tatooine, as Luke.
Then comes a real Jedi Obi Wan using a little force push.
Play a little and you get your first bonus mission, as R2D2 using his little shock and C3PO blowing apart.
And the last level I played before shutting it off has you facing Stormtrooper pigs, one even fires a blaster.
There is a lot more to do and my inner geek is screaming to play more, but unfortunately I have stuff to do.
There is an ad free version that only costs .99 on Amazon or a free version. I played 6 levels and a bonus mission and have only seen 2 ads so far. So what are you waiting for?
With Wet 2 possibly being canceled it got me thinking..
If the rumors are true Wet 2 has been canceled, adding it to a long list of games that never made it out. I wasn't impressed with the first one, and actually traded it in before I finished it. It was fun for a little while but it got old fast.
But it did get me thinking a lot about the other games that were dropped. Does anyone remember Thrill Kill? It got bought out by EA and later turned into Wu Tang's fighting game. A four player free-for-all fighter that was set to be twisted as hell and it got axed. There were demo copies sent out and if you try you can find a bootleg copy everynow and then.
At one point there was a Hellraiser game in the works for NES but it disappeared. That would have been one more classic horror game for the NES. It was also rumored to be in the works for the Xbox at one point.
Fans of the Anime/ Manga Trigun may have heard about the game Trigun Planet Gunsmoke that was headed to the PS2 by Red Entertainment getting canceled. Sega revealed it then it disappeared.
What about Demonik? I'm sure there are a few of you who saw it played in the movie Grandma's Boy. It was a real game from Majestic, but it got scrapped because of money trouble.
The list goes on and on. Ghost Rider, Legacy of Kain the Dark Prophesy, Snake Plisken Chronicles, Resident Evil for the Gameboy Color, Robocop vs Terminator, Aliens RPG, Elder Scrolls Travels for the PSP, and Road Rash for the PS3 and 360. Some of these could have been incredible, others would have been total crap. But they are just a fraction of the games that never were. If you want to see more check out http://www.unseen64.net/beta-and-cancelled-videogames/ . And that doesn't include all the Japanese games we never get.
Are there any games you were looking forward to that got canceled? Maybe some you never knew were getting worked on? Or maybe a few that you wish would have been? *cough*Brink*cough*
It's been 5 years since the last one, anyone still interested in the series?
The glove, silencer, tie, and 47 on the barcode could mean we have a new Hitman game comming. The series was always fun for me, the movie not so much. Do any of you want to sneak around and wear disguises or have games like Bulletstorm got you in the mood for heavy action? I assume I'm not the only one who wants to get hyped for this, but how many of you have never even tried the series?
Don't be a Jimmy, speak your mind.
I may have just found the best building sim yet.
Arvadecraft is being developed by Firebase Industries an indie company I've never heard of. The idea that drives the game is the chance to build your own arcade. You'll be dealing with machines breaking and your customers getting tired of games.
I couldn't find any release date for it, just that it is being made for the PC and XBLA download.
Will any of you be interested in this?
23 characters, 23 arcana styles, lots of possible combinations
I missed out on the first two games, but now that I have this one in my sights I have to try it. With 23 playable characters and 23 ways to play each one you have hundreds of choices.
Can anyone fill me in on the story for the first 2? This one is supposed to have story for each character, an ending, and some art.
Here are the character introductions
And some combos
It's only a few weeks away now, and I'm being told it's downloadable and about 30.00, I'ld rather have a physical copy, but we'll see.
Don't be a Jimmy! You want to play this? Know anything about the series? Let's hear what you got.

As a fan of most things zombie I had high hopes for the game, but was nervous. But now that I've played it I want more.
Welcome to DragonKiss83's review for Dead Island.
Thanks to Redbox I was able to pick this up for the PS3 and give it a try on the cheap. Maybe you guys here at gouki.com can get hooked up with them. Okay onto the game.
The opening video starts with what must be GoukiJones having a beer and stumbling around the island. It ends with a shot of Jack straight from the bottle. Just incase you have never played a zombie game before be warned there will be tons of violence, blood, and foul language. I do not suggest playing this one around the little ones.
When you start the game you get to choose between four different characters. Logan the throwing expert, Purna the firearms expert, Xian the sharp weapon expert, and Sam B the blunt weapon expert. I went with Xian. When you select your character they tell you their story. For her the short version sound a lot like Chun Li, dad was a cop, dad dies, she becomes a cop.Read full story...

Hawken is a Mech shooter made by Adhesive Games, and is planned to be reasonably priced and downloadable.
Have you heard of Hawken? Do you like Mechs? Here's a chance to check it out.
This First video gives you a view from inside the cockpit.
The second one opens with a taste of the environment you will be playing in. And then it moves on to team based combat.
I've always enjoyed mech fighting, as Armored Core or Gundam I was hooked.
Hawken is going to offer Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch but they also mention two unique modes.
Will you be buying this? Don't be a Jimmy.
Bye Bye Sniper ...
Just another reason to watch Battlefield 3. Destructible environments = dead sniper. I swear this looks better every time I see it.
As far as realistic shooters go this is going to be hard to beat. Battlefield 2 was one hell of a game and this looks to leave it behind. What do you think? Don't be a Jimmy.
And here's the first one just incase you missed it.
if you are a total jimmy
At first it looked like a joke, but they have a price of $13 for it on Amazon. First of all I'm sure your mom will think you look very cool sitting on her couch with this. Second it's fot the Kinect, an add on that was designed to keep you from having to use a controller. WTF? The saddest part is you know they are going to sell a ton of these stupid things.
And just incase you can't live with out it Amazon.com.
