SSF4:AE My Yun and Yang Analysis (UPDATE)

So, Bl34tm4n on youtube has uploaded tons of decent quality yun and yang videos (link here http://www.youtube.com/user/Bl34tm4n) After watching all his yun and yang vids i put together my own analysis and comparisons on the chars. What do you guys think? Leave a Comment below :D

(btw I dont know much about fei,gen or rufus, which basically make up alot of yun and yangs movelist, so please make your own comparions and stuff too )

UPDATE: even though yun has a better super, yangs slashes hit multiple times(even if its just one) during his super, applying more chip. also yangs teleport recovery is similiar to juri's? YANG CAN PUNISH BLANKA BALLS WITH U2. he can also punish blanka balls with ex slashes and ex teleport is decent on wakeup. Yun can EX AA into rush. palm atacks can be cancelled. Yang has sweet shoes. Even though Yangs U1 has like no reach (pretty much kara grab range?) it goes through fireballs :D

Starting with Yun, holy shit I can see how Daigo got 16,000BP and an 89% win rate in one day. (who the fuck knows what he has now....btw he has YET to make a ryu play card, it's been 100% yun)

-Yun's Dive Kicks are extremely good, annoying,and applying tons of pressure( they are noticibly slower than rufus's). Also yun can follow the dive kicks up with pretty good pokes and some specials. Also to make it even more Rufus like, yun can dive kick into target combo into FULL ULTRA 1. It's a easy combo thats going to destroy people. yet, since it is such a ridiculous combo, their is scaling to it, so it isnt too ridiculous, but pretty ridiculous. Divekick,lp lp, lk rush non counterhit took off 25% of chuns health.

-Yun's shoulder attack(similiar to Guy's) is much better. Damage is similiar but Guy's is incredibly slow when it is not EX, while Yun's comes out at pretty good speeds. And it is SAFE on block. Low LK(or maybe just LK) to LK shoulder is a sneaky little combo.

-genei-jin and palm attack. People tried to make the excuse that an overpowered genei-jin would be ok because it is hard to build meter, epsecially with how important ex moves and fadc are in this game. Well not when Yun's palm attack builds hefty meter like no other. It not only builds meter fast but it is safe from a distance and has major priority concerning people trying to stop you AND cancels out projectiles. The super only lasts about 10 seconds though.

The Genei-Jin is pretty much like the 3s version. Honestly it is much better than Juri's FSE for easily noticable reasons. First genei-jin has super freeze and comes out rather fast. You will see many yuns dive kick into normal combos and do the super even while the opponent is blocking, simply because you can continue to rush them down right afterwards and ultimately score an overhead or low hit into massive combo. Yun's pokes are also way more effective than Juri's in this state. Also juri cannot do atack combos into her fse and conintue a combo or apply pressure. Also, the lk -> lk shoulder combo i mentioned above, can sucessfully link into super and a continued combo (fucking balls)

Dashing punch even when its not ex(possible FP version) travels incredibly fast and almost full screen, can be a great suprise atack. On block the atack seems like juri's dive kick. only thing you can safely do is block if your opponent blocks it, most likely your poke will loose, BUT, after a blocked one you can super freeze with your super and apply the pressure.

Yun's anti air goes retarted high.

overhead is fucking smooth, just like in 3s.

YANG!  (BEST LOOKING FOCUS ATACK EVER! mantis style bitches)

divekicks on both characters do not break armor. and are not overheads.

Well, the backdash and palm atack are seemingly the same. But his jumping seems to travel further.

divekick not as safe as Yuns on block, OR it could be that yun has better folow-up normals.

comand grab. gotta be in that ASS for the command grab, like, super close for that shit to work. (same for yun)

Rolling attack into anti air.  But it travels very fast across the screen rolling(likes Gens roll) but into a AA, seems extremely sucessful vs fireballs. but the most unsafe thing ever. Also the rolling atack can be linked into slashes or just nothing, not sure if you can grab after, could be a nice mixup.

Slashes. Yangs LP slashes work great in little combos and are safe. really similiar to fei's punch combos and hit confirming from 1,2,3.

Seiei Enbu.  Hm...seems like yun's normals work alot better than yangs. Yang doesn't seem to have the same gaurenteed combo's as his broha.

Big disadvantage after U2 is blocked, yang kinda stands their for like 2 seconds.

sweep seems just like ken's

teleportdash- flashy and fast, travels alot further than ibuki's and is more confusing, looks fun.

 

 

I like Yang better but, Yun seems to have more pressure and alot of pro's are preferring him, blah (even in 3S)

PlayStation PLUS, is it worth it?

PlayStation Plus is $50 a year, but what exactly do you get? Iorilamia explores PS+ DLC, specials and the value that it carries.

PlayStation Plus is 3 months for $17.99 or  one year for $49.99. Doesn't seem too bad, you can imagine you're paying for something like XBL. Here are the cool perks you get. Or don't get ...

Each Month/Week- Free PSN games, minis and PS One Classics from the PSN Store. Dynamic Themes, avatars and add-ons (basically dlc)

Sucks because, Usually the PS1 games are crap games you most likely didn't play or want to play. Mini's are short-term games you would play on your cell phone usually . Free PSN games are basically games that are about $2-$15 for regular users and suck most of the time. The add-ons are mainly for random games you most likely don't have, and it's not always free. Avatars and themes...cool. Also the games are not their forever. One decent discount/free game can be up for a week, and the next few months will be complete trash games. And wtf, ps1 games are cool but they are backward compatible, the latest version of ps3 can only play like 10% of ps2 games, those should be what they are giving you.

You do get to try demos before regular users do and you get discounts on psn games.

Here is why I hate PS+ the most. Once you stop paying for it, you loose everything except avatars and themes (the lamest part of PS+...) I don't get it. You get "free" games you just paid 50 bucks for and they are all complete ASS, since you think your getting a good deal you go download and discount buying happy over thins you normally would never buy and if you don't keep paying, you loose the few games you actually did enjoy. Heres the thing, if you re-start your subscription, you get all your stuff back. I want you to keep your eye on PS+ deals (because they can be nice sometimes) Along with the PSN weekly Tuesday update, IGN covers all the deals for you.

What do you guys think about PS+? Have you tried it? Do the games sound appealing to you?

The reason I did not buy it: because I was following IGN's updates for a while to see if it was for me...most of the "free" games your getting are only worth a few bucks and aren't something I would spend time playing. Most not all. So in the end it would be a waste of money for me, especially since I don't care about themes,avatars or demos for games I'd never buy. Not being able to keep games is stupid. Also I have a few friends with it, after I saw a lot of the junk they downloaded I was further convinced into not caring about PS+. Flush it!

And now  Cinderkin, the internet explodes.

Killzone 3 In-Depth Class Overview: The Engineer

Member iorilamia has been addicted to the killzone 3 open multiplayer beta. The class iorilamia has been using most of the time is The Engineer. He took time to write a book about the Engineer class. Weapons, skills, gameplay and matchups vs others.

 

Basically the Engineer is one of the more underpowered classes in K3, but one team having one and the other not makes a huge difference. If you don't want to read all the details (because most of you don't own PS3 or just don't want to read), I have the basic information written up at the end ^_^

WEAPONS- Primary 

M224-1A LMG- Your basic machinegun. Tons of amo, long range, medium fire-speeds but extremely innacurate in far distance.
STA11 SMG- Way more acurate than the first gun and much faster firing speeds, but smaller clip and sucks even worse at far range, a definate medium range weapon.
STA3 LMG- The lord of all spraying and praying. EXTREMELY CLOSE range weapon that has shitty acurracy, but spills bullets out with an INSANE rate of fire. Run into a room with it and take out a group of jimmy's without even trying.

Secondary

STA18 Pistol -  Run of the mile pistol that works at close range with a decent rate of fire. Should kill within 4-5 well placed shots.
VC8 Shotgun Pistol - Definately nowhere near as good as the shotty, far less range and damage, but it is still a one shot kill when your directly infront of someone.
STA2 Battle Pistol - Grenade Launcher aka "noob tube" for u CoD fans. Well its not nooby in this game, grenades bounch like a mofo but the weapon does shoot the nades extremely far and accurate ; very good vs campers.

 

PRIMARY ABILITIES

Repair Tool – Repair damaged or destroyed ammunition dispensers, mounted guns, and automated turrets.
Repair Tool+  - Increases repair speed. (This is a MUST, the increased repair speed is insane and this is a fast-paced game, your gonna need it)
Repair Tool++  - Hack enemy placed turrets, transferring ownership until the engineer is killed or the turret is re-hacked. Stacks with previous abilities. (IMO this sucks ass. 9/10 your gonna die before you can just RUN UP to another engineers turret and hack it like your rambo, I haven't had much luck with this ability, but when I did, it allowed me to set up my own turret next to it.)

SECONDARY

 Sentry Turret  – Deploy a machine gun turret that will automatically target and fire at enemies in range.
 Sentry Turret +  - Turret's firing rate is increase and can be deployed twice as fast as before.
 Sentry Turret ++  - Deployed turrets can now track targets faster and are augmented with auto-fire rockets that fire every few seconds. ( LVL THIS SHIT UP AS FAST AS POSSIBLE! The Engineer felt like a struggle until the turret is fully lvled up, the turret dies too easily and its a sitting duck you the fire power is a must)

ENGINEERS ROLES IN THE TEAM / GAMEPLAY

Amo Deposites

The Engineer is your bro. Both teams have several amo crates that give you more grenades/mines than you spawn with and ofcourse more amo when you need it. You cannot use these unless a Engineer repeairs it (they are broken when the round starts) also if one team has a Engineer and the other doesn't, the one Engineer can destroy and take over the other teams amo deposits (or just capture them all in the start of the round). Before you go killing, Engineers need to repair the nearest Amo Depos.

Where and Why to use Turrets

The engineer ha several gameplay styles. To break it down we got the Camper, Aggresive and Security.

The Camper is self explanatory. Get your Turret in a corner while you wait in the other or next to it, firing at people coming near bye or outside. What makes it so effective is proximity mines. If you camp near a amo depo, you can have 3 mines constantly covering your blindspots and staircases, as soon as someone hits one you can constantly get more and more.

When your Aggresive (like me) you go out into the open, get your squishy turret (they do die easily) near a wall or crate giving you backup fire as you battle. It is effective because you can easily run back to heal him when injured. Also theirs MANY situations where I don't even notice a enemy but my Turret does, and I end up supporting him.

Security is great for your team. In almost any game-mode or objective while you go do your own thing, carefully place your Turret and proximity mines around the base/area.               

Heres the fun part (not too much in-game) MATCHUPS! How us Engineer deal with other classes/ get railed.

Vs Engineer- Longe range, the engineer using the first primary weapon wins, its more inacurate than the second range weapon but the range usually wins overall, and the damage. Close range is a toughy. The last Primary weapon is best at close ranges, but the second one almost being as good and better acurracy, all comes down to the player. but even if its a small hallway, the second primary wins, the third is just TOO innacurate. Whoever have the better turret obviously have a much bigger hand.

Vs Infiltrator- This sucks. Infiltrators maxed out Hide ability allows them to appear as a teamate to you and yor turret. Ontop of that if they kill you with brutal melee, they stay hidden. Basically they seak up on you, brutal melee and your turret still doesnt see them, then they kill it. If they use a gun and are close enoguh, HOPEFULLY your turret turns around and fire a rocket first thing. The weapons matchup sucks aswell. Their primary eapon, an actual shotgun is way better than your pistol shotgun, and rapes you close range easily. They share the same secondary weapon as you but their last weapon makes the long range difference. A 5-burst red dot sight rifle, is way more superior than the engineers slow inacurate long range machine gun. Best thing you can do is be medium range while your turret is being a bro and helping you out, try to target them before they get close (it appears as red)

Vs Marksman - Marksman and Infiltrator are "top of the tier list" in a way. The marksman can be invisible while shooting at you, only appearing when killing or mortally wounding. So ofcourse when invisible, their turret can't see them, and if they do, the turrets slow ass moving rockets should be easy for a long range camper to dodge along with the turrets regular bullets. All of the marksmans weapons pwn you and the turret far/medium range. Your true only hope is close range or hopefully the machine gun pressure along with a turret causes their aim to fuck up. I'm pretty sure their final primary weapon kills turrets in one shot...a long with players.

Vs Tactition - Feels pretty equal. Tactition has a balanced weapon base with shotgun and rifles. The big upside tactition has is the ability to see players behind walls, BUT I don't beleive he can see Turrets. He will turn the corner ready to rape you, not knowing your buddy is ready to rape him. 

Vs Tactitions Droid- It flies around and when it gets hurt sometimes flies away. This ofcourse makes it hard for your own turret to hit. But the droid ONLY shoots bullets, while your turret has bullets and rockets. One rocket should kill it, fire power is on your side. Also your machine gun takes down flying driods like cake.

Vs Medic- Medic is kinda lower on the list a long with Engineer. Your only real problem is the medic reviving and killing you from behind, but your turret may catch him before you even notice = win. The medic also has a shotgun, but without the abilities of infiltrator or tactition, it doens't always work out so well.

Vs Medics Droid- It follows the medic around shooting regular bullets like Taction droid, but its weak as balls. You or your turret can easily kill it. The only upside it has is staying alive and annoyinngly buzzing around when you kill medic.

Overal Summary-

The Engineer can play support with a strong Turret you can place in tactical areas and good weapons. The downside is fighting long range and cloaked classes. But if you want to camp with spamming mines and hiding in a corner with your turret in the other, that works too. The Engineer is also ideal for protecting assination Targets. On the forums this class has been protrayed as the "weakest" but the problem most people said is that the turret just needs a buff, its a sitting duck that dies easily(unlike the other 2 mobile droids), yet its the main part of playing engineer. Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, I might do a write-up on Infiltrator and Markmans and how to be a cheap douchebag, but most of you probably don't care about Killzone3. Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Announced *UPDATE preorder costumes*

The rumors were true...

Ultimate Mvc3 (UMVC3) will have 12 new characters, new modes and 8 new stages. It will be coming this November for $39.99 ( a bit much in my opinion). So far Strider, Firebrand, Ghost Rider, and Hawkeye have been announced , check out their videos below and the UMVC3 trailer (which shows some new moves added/altered to the old cast!)

So what do you guys think of the UMVC3 idea? Anyone seen it coming, with the usual Capcom releasing 2-3 versions of a game? I don't like the $40 pricetag, hopefully those who purchased MVC3 will have some sort of bonus...like costumes or a character or two? Atleast we will have a spectator mode, giving people more incentive for online play. X-factor in the air is a bit...much. But they were speaking of nerfing it and making the game more skill based, so we will see in time.

Anyways, the biggest deal are the new characters. None are really appealing to me. So far looks like I'll still be sticking with x-23, Wesker, Morrigan, Ryu and Magneto. Strider looks overpowered and has 2(?) lvl 3's? Firebrand's OTG capatabilites do look fun though. Still, I wish they add Son-son and Gambit to the game. Anyone on your wishlist? Duke Nukem captures Babes, not Flags

Lots of news on Duke Nukem Forever's Muliplayer Game Modes and Weapons/Abilities! !

In Duke Nukem Forever you don't play boring Capture the Flag, you play CAPTURE THE BABE! No screenshots of this babe capturing yet, but in this multiplayer game mode you run around carrying ladies. But from being carried, the "babe" apparently freaks out a bit, so you have to give her a slap on the butt to calm...her down? Not much details on it, so feel free to speculate! Maybe if you go too long without these reasurring slaps, she wiggles away or something, I'm interested to see what other twists will come a long in Duke Nuken Forever.

Game Modes- . Dukematch and TeamDukeMatch are both deathmatch oriented games. Hail to the King is King of the Hill type of gameplay. All game modes are 8 players, 4v4. And the "Capture the Babe" stated above.

Weapons- will be pistol, shotgun, ripper chaingun, pipebomb, rpg, shrinker, railgun, freezer, devastator and tripbomb. Also you can only carry two primary weapons at once in addition to having  pipebombs and tripbombs. Also JETPACKS SON! only in multiplayer, not single...O_O

Customization - characters can get points by getting kills and achivements, also bonus points for "funny kills" (like pipe-bomb suicide) As expected, every shooter has a lvling system now a days, going to be interesting finding out what unlcocks Duke will have.

Awesome powerups- Steroids let Duke do 1 hit kill punches, run faster but cant use guns, leaves him immune to shrinker. Shrinker turns people into Mini-Duke, only do 10% of dmg. And HoloDuke allows him to be cloaked and do cool melee kills.

Did L.A Noire do a good enough job with facial features?

L.A Noire' big whoop are the faces. I've been playing the game and the incredibly realistic facial expressions really do enhance the experience. A few of the characters might have seemed familiar from TV shows or movies. Check out the facial comparison between the game characters and the actual actors.

Personal top 5 Characters of MvC3

An opinion on who are in the top 5 and why.

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 has been out for a good enough time to see who are the extremely powerful and well-rounded characters. I've been thinking, if there was a tier list, who would be in the top 5? I came up with a list, but it is in no particular order. I feel that these 5 characters are all pretty close to each other in some way, being able to tear each other apart X-Factor or not. I'll be going over the strengths that lead me to believe they are the best and the few weaknesses. Keep in mind it is an opinion and I'd love to hear what you have to think about it.

1. PHOENIX

Strengths-

  • Best Teleport in the game. Basically instant, can use in 3 directions on ground and air.
  • Amazing fireball game. Can be used as offensive, mix-ups with teleport and extremely annoying keep-away with her H fireball in flight mode.
  • Her Trap is powerful and annoying. It moves fast, can have more than one out and it can set up for combos and mix-ups with the teleport.
  • Great physical combos including her own in air re-launch combo and a overhead you can combo in and out of!
  • Has flight mode
  • Amazing Supers. Phoenix Rage has great priority, travels full screen at a fast speed and causes wall bounce for DHC combos or Trap combos. Healing Sphere helps desperately with regaining the load of damage she takes from chip. (Red Life)
  • Dark Phoenix (Dying with 5 meters) increases her speed and offense. Regular Phoenix is already an extremely tough character to deal with. Dark form makes all of her normals and fireballs hyper-active and extremely hard to dodge. More chip damage as well.
  • Dark Phoenix mode also effects her assist, making her Tk Shot one of the best projectile assists.

Weaknesses-

  • Lowest health in the game. Healing Sphere is nice but that only works when opponent is inside. Many Phoenix players die to chip damage when opponent has enough meter. Also people are so focused on Dark Phoenix, that they don't use their meter, handicapping them from finishing combos.

2. WOLVERINE

Strengths-

  • One of the best rush down characters and with the right assist, it is inevitable for him to get in and open you up
  • Beserker Barage, Drill claw , dive kick and Beserker slash are extremely strong, fast and great priority moves. Being able to drill claw in multi directions, cross up with Beserker slash and dive kick into combos makes wolverine extremely versatile in his offense, leaving him with few bad positions during the tides of battle.
  • His hyper Fatal Claw can be done in air or ground. Wolverines BnB re-launch combo into this super EASILY does over 40% on most characters. Also his Beserker Barage X and lvl 3 Weapon X are very easy to hit-confirm into.
  • Wolverine has fast normals and a very fast dash.
  • Already being a in-your-face type, it is ridiculous that he has a speed-up super; Beserker Charge. It only lasts 5 seconds but helps extend combos and make him more figity and faster than before (In movement and attacks)
  • Has a OTG slide, with the right assist this extends his already simple yet damaging combos even more.
  • Has a wall-jump when cornered

Weaknesses-

  • Wolverine has good health and some of the best offense and supers in the game. The only disadvantage he has is no projectiles. But Wolverine has so many angles and quick ways to get in, that it doesn't matter. In the end it is up to the player, but for the most part Wolverine is unstoppable.

3. WESKER

Strengths-

  • Has one of the best damage outputs during X-factor (And very strong without it)
  • Can teleport in directions on ground and air. While in air can teleport 3 times before hitting ground.
  • Has single-shot gun that does great damage and has good hit stun.
  • Can create amazing mix-ups with gunshots followed by teleports and assists
  • Can combo after Counter super
  • OTG gunshot creates huge team combos whether he is on point or assist
  • Has 3 different command grabs, 1 leads into air combo, the other OTG combo
  • Great keep away game and really good normals ; can fight either way
  • Has 3 counter moves that can be comboed after
  • Rhino Charge into low gunshot combo is ridiculously damaging for DHC glitch
  • Extremely well rounded character who has almost everything

Weaknesses-

  • Similar to Wolverine, it i hard to say. He can utilize 4 different counters and 3 command grabs vs rush-down types, and can play keep away and do mix ups on projectile spammers. Where Wesker leaves himself open is the air teleports. Air Teleport L and M have slow recovery and are punishable (if your opponent can reach you)

4. TASKMASTER

 

  • Aim Master is an amazing projectile. He can shoot forward, diagonal or upwards while on the ground. And in the air can shoot down (OTG leading into super), forward and diagonal. These arrows are multi-hit and very fast, also leading into hit confirm super. This makes Taskmasters keep away extremely annoying.
  • Has good reach with his sword and un-bloackable combos that don't need an assist!!!
  • Charging star is fast and can go through some projectiles
  • Web Swing is simply insane. Taskmasters solo combos are extremely dragged out with this, and can still end in Super.
  • Has a counter super and counter move (not combo-able)
  • Task is another very well rounded character. Great offense, great keep away and has counters to boot. 
  • Arrow super is awesome for DHC due to its changed directions

Weaknesses-

  • None really. The web swing is very throw-able, but people don't usually try because if you screw up, you get hit with a easy 50%+ combo. Taskmaster is one of the most solid characters.

5. TRON or ZERO?

I could have easily made a top 6, but top 5 sounds cooler, and makes me think even harder. But in the end I couldn't come to a decsision to pick Zero or Tron. Here is a look at the two, I will let the Gouki members decide. Or maybe you rather have both of them and take someone else out?

TRON's Strengths-

  • One of the highest HP
  • Ridiculous combo-ability. High damage and awesome meter building for a tank character
  • Jumping S is extremely annoying and effective. Does great damage, has active frames the ENTIRE time and causes ground bounce.
  • Bone Strike is a great get-in move , can be used in air and combos very well
  • Has a command grab
  • lvl 3 is a command grab
  • Both lvl 1 supers are great for DHC and combos well into them by herself
  • A long with her already godlike combos, can be extended with the right assist to nearly kill everyone in the game
  • Gustaff Fire is one of the best assist in the game. Crazy invinciblity and comes out very fast.

Weaknesses-

  • Her projectile is poor and her only real means of getting in are jumping S and Bone Strike. Once you get around those her mobility to decent, but she has a bigger hit box than most, so she gets bullied a bit. Smart keep away can keep her at bay.

ZERO's Strengths

  • Zero has some of the best normals in the game. A long with great reach and priority, the Shipugga makes it so much better. Great vs super-armor characters as well.
  • Charged Buster is amazing. Zero can instantly let it go at any moment, when it is lvl 3 and he is airborne, it leads into a combo.
  • Has a decent SRK
  • Hadangeki is a great projectile as well
  • Sentsuizan is an amazing air strike that is combo-able and lightning fast. He also has a fake version, confusing opponents.
  • Raikousen is another fast air combo-able move.
  • His teleport makes things very tricky. It is fast and has great recovery. with the right assist you can make effective cross-ups, and in the air he can attack afterwards.
  • The clone super makes his already beastly offense even more fearsome, allowing him to do extremely damaging combos. Can also 100% kill everyone(?) when used in DHC glitch with the right combos.
  • One of the few lvl 3's in the game that isnt a full cinamatic, giving it better combo-ability.
  • Amazing back dash  and very long forward dash. Mixed in with his teleports and high prioritized multi-hit normals, his footsies are great.
  • Has a OTG super.

Weaknesses-

  • Like most of the people on this list. None. The only downside to playing Zero is his low HP (not as bad as Phoenix though :p)

 

And that is my top "5". Please add your insight to who you think should be or not be on the list, how would you alter it?  I till can't decide on Tron or Zero, both of them are so beast. Check out who Katherine will be voiced by in the upcoming Atlus game "Catherine"

Katherine is the sophisticated intellectual girlfriend of Vincent. Her voice actress has finally been revealed , Michelle Ruff. You may know her as Rukia from Bleach, Kaori of Akira, or C.Viper from sf4 to name a few. I'm not familiar with all of her work, but for Katherine it seems like her voice should be a bit deeper and mature. Strangely enough I think Vipers Japanese voice is perfect for Katherine cheeky Leave your commnets below about Atlus's pick on Michelle Ruff, or who do you think would be better. Feelings on GuiltyGear and BlazBlue

Played GuiltyGear since i was young. Wrote on how I feel about the two series, any other fans have some input on how they feel? Decided to write this because as the months pass their is WAY less and less GuiltyGear play and so much BlazBlue expansion.

Well first off, I am originally a GuiltyGear fan before anything else, and it was hard for me to accept BlazBlue's takeover. But I am not completely bias, I tried. Our last versions of GuiltyGear here the two AccentCore games that pretty much fixed and balanced everyhting out nicely (Well, Eddie is still...Eddie).But even with that, the BB Community has been much larger. Upon the release of BB, many people jumped on the bangwagon and loved it, including many old GG players, but with the game being so different, I wouldn't have guessed it taking over the way it did. Since then we have had patches to BB, more games, arcade releases AND DLC. The last year BB has been featured along with ssf4, HDR, and Tekken6 at many of tournaments. With no GuiltyGear in sight (except for the few tournaments that have GG on the side, but it is nothing major and not nearly as many competitors). The only place I see these games still equal is at Evo, where a decent amount of people enter on the side playing BB/GG tournies on small televisions for funzies. What do you guys think about the two games, which is better, why, like them the same, why does it appeal to you and why do you think it appeals to others more? Leave a comment below, and here are my thoughts.

So what makes Blaz B such a popular game so fast?

-Graphics. several of my friends first comments where " dude, the game looks so awesome!" the 3d backgrounds and smooth characters look great.

-Online play. you NEED this now a days.

-Noob friendly easy input mode

- growing game (DLC and new, GG has had many revisions over the years with usually the same roster, and piss people off when they create games like " ISUKA" and "GuiltyGear2")

But in my opinion, the Guilty G upsides are a lot better (besides the online part )

-The game is MUCH faster,has a much better combo system with Fautless romans, cancels and so on leading to crazyness.

- more singe player game modes , to challenge yourself under certain conditions and goals

-graphics. those are some of the best sprites around, they look great and go with the game well. dont need no HD shit.

-characters in GG seem to have a better variety because the BB cast is basically remixed versions of 1-2 characters+ new stuff. Also the ridiculous peronalities of the GG cast are just so lovable.

the music. the bestly metal soundtrack Daisuke Ishiwatari helped create went perfect with the game. I am not against the anime pop music of BB, but personally what GG had fit better, and BB's rock songs just dont have as much "UMPHHH" to them.

 

overall Blazblue has easier inputs, slower gameplay and not as many ridiculous combos, so it is much more noob friendly and not getting your ass rocked by people who mastered combos. Also the graphics and beauty draw people in aswell, along with the online play keeping people to play more often because online.

In the end I just couldn't do it, i sold my copy of BB, dont play it (even though all my friends do), and find someone to play GG with once in a blue moon. Without online play GG will continue to suffer HARD.

 

On a side note: thank god Daisuke Ishiwatari didn't want to do a BlazBlue vs GuiltyGear game, to sum it up he felt the same way I did, and did not want that series to cross and mess with guiltygear. My hopes for the future is that they will release one more in my beloved series, and it would be GG:3. Basically the same as Accent-Core Plus, but add in the characters from GG2 Overture( that game sucked, give those characters a rightful place in the 2d realm) with a much enlarged story-line,online play and possible dlc.

What characters would you like to see return to a series?

What characters do you wish would come back to a game series? Did one of your favorites get killed off, did the story change completely, or did they just stop putting that character in games?

First I'd like to start off with Geese" DOUBLE REPPUKEN" Howard. He hasn't been in a new snk game for years.

 

The mans a badass to say the least. He is from FatalFury and his attitude and fighting style are what makes me miss him the most. The version of Geese that I want returning, is one similiar to the CvS2 style. If you are not familiar with Geese, basically he had Gouken counters, air fireballs that push him backwards, and ground fireballs. He had incredibly strong normals and his super "RAGING STORM!!!!" is the best anti air ever. Besides his yelling, what made him so cool was he taunted you when he throws you and basically tells you your going to die before the round starts; "you cannot escape long death...." I would have loved to see him in kof12 (a long with 30 other characters,lol) and he wasn't included in 13 (doubt they will have DLC). Here to hoping SNKP use him in something. Second Character is Karas! The armored swordsman of Tatsunoko.

Karas was a popular anime and manga before his appearance in Tatsunoko vs Capcom. He is on my wishlist because even though TvC was an AMAZING game (and will always be one of my favorite vs games), it did not get really big, mainly because it was wii only and Americans don't know wtf Tatsunoko is. With MvC3 coming I don't think we wil see a tvc2 anytime soon...or ever. Karas was one of the lowest hp characters (next to Zero and roll) but his playstyle was beast. He has great offensive slashes with nice reach and quick jabs that allow him to combo into huge setups. His reflect projectile move and assist also could be used as an attack into his super combo. He had a counter super, one that rushes, and one that turns him into a flying disc, all of these perfectly transported from the anime to the game. What made karas unique was his chain attack, his srk and a dash atack that could lead into combos. His uppercut attack was not only extremely fast, but it could be done twice and went straight up very high. His chain could be used long range to hold enemies for assist mixups and supers, or to pull them towards him leaving them helpless. Despite him being "bottom tier"  because he got super nerfed in American version,I felt that if you used him right, he was unstoppable! Finally is the Zora people, from Legend of Zelda.

They where Fish people that played guitars made out of fish bones ; epic. You first encounter them in Ocarina of time, but Majoras Mask is where the real fun starts. Once you get the Zora mask, you become one of them and get to explore their world. It was just good fun. The outside world was big and interesting enough, but being able to swim to  new places was even more exciting. Obviously the new Zelda game coming out for Wii ins't having some sort of transforming link (that we know of), but as long as we get to interact with the Zora and travel to their world, I'm happy.Video of Zora link doing quests and stuff, uplaoded by http://www.youtube.com/user/SonicBlueSky
