We know the little Jimmys out there like their Call of Duty, but OMG people... try something else.
The top two spots are Call of Duty. Four CoD games are in the top 20... one of them (CoD4, aka the first Modern Warfare) was released in 2007. Play. Something. Else.
Team Gouki's favorite shooter, Battlefield 3 reached the top 5 and the exclusives, Halo: Reach and Gears 3 hold numbers 6 and 7. Skyrim's still in the top 3? You're not bored with the game yet?

My experience at my local Modern Warfare 3 midnight launch tournament.
It was Aaron's. It was 8:45. Over 150 people crammed into the back of the store huddled around four flat panel TVs. Cheers of victory, laughter, and the grunts of humiliation and defeat carried through the place. A woman - practically the only woman - in a Gamestop t-shirt occasionally called out a raffle ticket number. It was late in the evening on November the 7th, and anyone that drove by and saw the crowded parking lot would know why we were all there.
Modern Warfare 3.
Okay, so that's probably enough with the fancy theatrical sentences. I have to say: Modern Warfare 3 was a great first midnight launch tournament. The energy in the place was insane. It was an embodiment of why these developers love making video games. Playing online just can't compete with the experience of over 100 eyes watching your performance while you listen to their reactions. My performance in the tournament was far from impressive; I got 11 kills and 13 deaths in the first round. Oh well...I've honestly played a fraction of the amount of Modern Warfare that most of these people played. It was fun, and that's really what's important.
Oh yeah, and I did get some raffle prizes, so that was pretty cool. I got my Gamestop's (only!) MW3 standee plus a bumper sticker and refridgerator magnet. All-in-all, not too bad.
Refridgerator magnet and bumper sticker...
I bought Modern Warfare 3 on Steam, so I'll be getting on tomorrow morning and getting it on.
See ya later,

You heard it right. Tournament to be held on the 7th of November.
Normally I'm not a Call of Duty person. but for those of you interested, Wal-Mart is going to host a tournament for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on November 7th, starting at 8PM. Based on my sources (both internet and personal sources withing the store), the tournament is going to be consisting of Solo SpecOps Survival rounds, in which it pretty much makes the tournament be determined by time.
Follow the link to see if your wal-mart is hosting the tournament:
So, what are you waiting for? go to your local wal-mart (if it's listed here), and sign-up. I already signed up myself at my store.
Leave your comments on the bottom, and don't be a Jimmy!!!
Check out these other stories by me:
This looks very impressive. All in-game footage from what I can see. BUT, everything is from a third person view. It's very cinematic. This video is really cool, but COD17 here will still probably look like COD when you actually play it. Thumbs down Jimmy.

Don't get killed by the moving booth walls...
So there's a long countdown nearing completion in the Activision booth as FnJimmy and myself are walking by. The crowd seems excited so we stop to check it out as there's only a minute and a half left. Once the timer hits zero, the lights dim and a screen that wraps around the inside of the booth starts to lower.
This is where the idiots show themselves, as they think they are going to be trapped out of the booth and not see the super awesome MW3 trailer. Look, a lot of stupid shit happens at E3, but Activision isn't about to drop a wall on your heads if you're not looking. The screens lowered to about 8 feet off the floor. And then, speaking of stupid shit, another countdown starts. Five minutes this time. As it counts down, you can see the timeline of events from previous MW games on the wrap around screen. This is all bullshit, and I don't even start recording until the timer is at a minute.
Now the trailer starts being shown, different shit is happening all around you, I tried to get as much of it as I could, but I don't have a 360 degree camera. Most of the footage had already been seen in previous trailers anyway. In the end, nothing earth shattering. MW3 = World War 3... yup.

These videos look good, but I'm just getting another DLC pack for Black Ops, why the rush?
I guess they showed this on the Microsoft press confrence since they get the DLC first. As you see the gameplay you can see that these systems aren't dead yet. The graphics for in came look better than some of the CG in other games.
But with these games being put out so ofter I hesitate to buy another one. The DLC is still a week away from bieng released on the PS3, but they have another game coming this soon. I can understand that they want to cash in. But are they just putting these games out to close together? They don't really change very much from game to game, so you are mostly paying for new levels. Right now Just the base game and two DLC packs have people out $90 and now they want to see another $60. And there will be another one, and another one. When will gamers get tired of having their wallets get hit constantly? You add some underwater play, that's cool but what else will really be new?
I enjoy the games offline, but the multi-player is what keeps these games popular and if you release them this close together you will kill off that fan base. Hell I probably wouldn't have COD Black Ops on my shelf if it was for being able to play online with friends and family.
