Microsoft's Director of Xbox Live Programming Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb, has announced via his blog that U.S. Xbox Live subscribers can participate in a service testing program called Xbox Live Labs beginning today.
Here is what Major Neslon had to say in his blog:
As a part of our ongoing commitment to improve Xbox LIVE, we are rolling out an optional testing program called Xbox LIVE Labs. Xbox LIVE Labs performs a number of network tests from your console to Xbox LIVE. These results are recorded solely for the purpose of testing and improving the service. Although we want your support, participating in Xbox LIVE Labs is entirely optional and voluntary. These results are recorded solely for the purpose of testing and improving the service and will not be used to identify you.
If you choose to participate, each completed test rewards you with a cool Avatar item and a zero point achievement as a thank you for your contribution.
There are a total of three Avatar items and three zero point achievements that you can earn for each completed test, including a lab coat, brain helmet, and crazy mad scientist hair!
Xbox LIVE Labs runs from March 10-27 and is open to all Xbox LIVE members living in the United States.
You will not be able to participate in other Xbox LIVE activities, such as gaming, watching movies or downloading music, while running Xbox LIVE Labs, and your Internet connectivity may be slower than usual. Sound good? Sign into Xbox LIVE and head over to the community channel where you’ll see the Xbox LIVE Labs panel. Click on it to download the testing app and the rest is pretty much self-explanatory.
The Xbox LIVE Labs testing application is currently available in the US only. After this round of testing, we’ll evaluate when and how we’ll roll this out to other Xbox LIVE regions.
Thanks for your help
So Jimmys be sure to jump on this for some free crap for your avatar. I plan to leave my box on while I sleep as it turns off automatically after 6 hours of inactivity.

It's a free downloadable game for your computer about the speeder bike part of Tron
Find downloads on the side bar and choose which version to download depending on your computer.
It's got online multiplayer, it's customizable, and you can host your own server, all for free. It's a simple game so it has a very quick download and small file size too.
The premise is everyone has a speeder bike. The game is a few years old and was based on the first Tron movie so the bikes move on 90 degree turns (except not on all servers). In the most basic mode, everyone is just trying to kill each other by outmanuevering opponents and forcing opponents to run into a wall. There are other modes such as fortress where you try to capture the enemies base by occupying it while you or your teammates defend your own base. There are a variety of other modes such as capture the flag or races because all the content is user created.
There you have it. It's free downloadable game so try it out if you want.

Like the music in portal 2? Like free stuff? Come on in.
According to Valve the portal 2 soundtrack is going to be released in three installments. The first one is here, and they're letting you download if for free. It's
six twenty two amazing songs you'll recognize from the game. That's right 22! That's more than I was expecting on the whole soundtrack. I can't wait for the rest. If you like the sciencey feel of the portal 2 music, and want to re-create the atmosphere of aperture science labs wherever you go, now's your chance.
I'll be sure to keep an eye out for when volume 2 shows up and let you guys know.

I think this one is pretty self explanatory.
A while ago I posted a story up on here that said the first Volume of the portal 2 soundtrack was out, and that it was free. Well It still is, but now you can pick up part 2 as well. Part 1 contained 22 songs, and part 2 contains 18. I think that valve is really cool for giving away such an awesome soundtrack for free, and that it's the whole thing. They've already given us 40 songs, and part 3 has yet to arrive. This soundtrack is supremely great too. If you liked the music while you were playing the game it feels just as good driving down the road.
I know we all like free stuff, and I'll keep my eye out for part 3. But for now, download and enjoy part 2.
EDIT: Here's the link. Derp http://www.thinkwithportals.com/music.php?2
Did you like Portal 2? Do you want more? Do you want it for free?
Good news everybody!
Valve has some DLC in the works for Portal 2; it will release this summer and be free!
Portal 2 DLC #1 will offer new test chambers for players, leaderboards, challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, and more.
Targeted for release this summer, Portal 2 DLC #1 will be offered free of charge for the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PS3.
I'm super excied for the leaderboards and challenge modes, hopefully there will be a similar style to the advanced mode in the original where you can be ranked on how quickly you solve the room, fewest portals, fewest steps, etc.
Oh, and did I mention it's free?

The maps and modes will be-

Nekoti Rock – Gold Rush, Shootout, Gang Shootout
El Presidio – Gold Rush, Shootout, Gang Shootout
Plainview – Gold Rush, Shootout, Gang Shootout
Gaptooth Mine – Shootout, Gang Shootout
Pike’s Basin – Shootout, Gang Shootout

Benedict Point – Hold Your Own, Grab the Bag
Beecher’s Hope - Stronghold
Torquemada - Stronghold
Armadillo - Stronghold
Chuparosa - Stronghold
Rio Bravo - Shootout, Gang Shootout
Tumbleweed - Stronghold
New Characters will be-
Anyone else stoked for this? I rarely play RDR now , but it's still one of my favorites and the DLC sounds great. Personally Nekoti Rock, Cochinay and Pike's Basin sound like a blast for a structured MP game (would usually just be people shooting each other during Gang Hideouts). As far as characters go, it's nice that some of these guys are getting justice. Landon Ricketts and Nastas are favorites for sure. How do you guys feel about the upcoming DLC, is it enough for you? Any other maps you would like to see added?
Also Rockstar recently added some sweet screenshots of the upcoming pack, enjoy.
