Cars 2 for the wii... sucks.

By: Aragrist Jul 21, 2011 | 5 Comments

My son got this game for his birthday and I feel like he got ripped off.

First off why are all the game modes locked? Second why can't you race other people right out of the box?

Mario Kart doesn't make it a pain in the ass just to play multiplayer. With Cars 2 it seemed to me that the design of this game was overly complicated considering it's a kids game. When a seven year old can't get through the start screen and start a race on his own you know there's a problem. Once we messed with it for a while he was able to get to a type of multiplayer but it wasn't fun and it wasn't racing. It was training. They force you to do training courses to learn how to jump turn and do just about everything that should be natural to anyone that's ever played a game like this before. I was at target the other day and saw Mario kart for the wii and just picked it up and started playing,. The controls are way different than on the Game Cube but they are intuitive and natural and I was able to just play and have fun. Not so with Cars 2 which makes everything a chore and doesn't even have the play machanics to rival low end kart racers. At least the graphics were nice and crisp.

Definitely Flush this pile.

Graphics get a 4 out of 5

I looks like the cars movie which is all I can say is good about this game.

Audio gets a 4 out of 5

Sure the sound works nice and the voices are cool and I think may even be done by the real actors but they get repeatitive.

Controls get a 2 out of 5

Super sluggish and overly complexe for a kids game.

Story gets a 3 out of 5

It's just the Cars 2 story line from what I saw and that movie kind of sucked anyway.

My opinion-- This game was a waste of time and effort. Go get Mario Kart instead.

Monster Hunter Tri(3) First Love?

By: reipuerto Apr 20, 2010 | 4 Comments

CAPCOM moved this in to what?! (First impression)

Capcom, you sexy, lying, penny pinching, re-releasing games and putting out you. You sure out did yourself on this one! Monster Hunter Tri for the Nintendo Wii is a great addition to the series and it delivers!

While the story isn’t in par with those of Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, Megaman, and Dead Rising, but it’s all about questing. You start the game as a traveler from a far land that arrivals when an earthquake strikes and it’s up the “the lone hero” to investigate and make the villagers happy at the same time. While the story might not catch your attention, the quest style with friends will!

The premise of the game is to hunt monster, use their parts, to hunt bigger and badder beast! It’s a vicious cycle since each piece of amour and weapon increase quality, slots and attributes. The game supports Wii Speak , Wi-Fi, friend code/ with or without actual friends, and two player offline area style split screen. CAPCOM has even bundled the game with Nintendo’s new Classic Pro Controller.

So far, my experience has been pleasant. The controls are great with the Pro and the learning curve isn’t hard, just be patient and you’ll feel great taking down a massive monster.

Buy it Jimmy! A game that’s FREE online, weekly quests that are added, and a soon to be growing online community. It’s a steal. BUY IT!

The Conduit 2 Review

By: reipuerto Jun 30, 2011 | 10 Comments

Will Michael Ford stop the alien invasion or be destroyed?

The sequel to one of the Wii's under-appreciated games gets a great update, story and gameplay. Published by SEGA and developed by High Voltage Software, if you own a Wii, check this out!

Story- You play as Michael Ford, who's voiced by the talented Jon St. John(Duke Nukem Jimmy!!), and it's your duty to save the world and stop John Adams from an alien invasion. This story continues right after the first one. You followed Adams through the conduit and the story unfolds with amusing and interesting twists! You land inside Atlantis and use it's conduit to travel and stop Adams, with the help of Andromeda and the new The Destroyer suit. It's a fun experience that changes the way you look at Prometheus and his “good” intentions. I won't spoil anything here but it's a fun experience that'll take you to different location form China and their Jade Warriors to the arctic tundra of Siberia! You'll travel from place to place all over the world.

Gameplay- “BOOM!! Head shot!!” Tight, fluid and fast, with it's own special sauce from High Voltage Games. It's a first person shooter that you point to the screen and destroy baddy for lunch and dinner. Each weapon has a secondary fire and can really make you feel like a super agent from the future. What I love about this series is their choices of weapons and how they implement their special fire. The regular human weapons have iron site, which works well with the tight controls. The alien's weapons have such a diverse use of fire, it makes you appreciate High Voltage Games choice of weapons and experimentation of them. One gun doesn't use ammo, so your shoots are unlimited and you can charge it to become invisible for a short while, but it'll freeze up your gun if you say in that mode. How do you fix that? Start shooting. The gun heats up when shot but cools when charged. Great balance and it's just one of the many weapons that you'll encounter, like a gun that shoots through walls. Grenades are still there and they can really help you in pressuring fights. The use of WiiMotin Plus is only used for on screen cursor if moved TOO far, which I didn't have a problem to begin with. You can even upgrade your armor suit and use those power ups to make the fight more enjoyable as the game progresses. Now, online!

Online- The game supports a whooping 14 game modes across 12 different maps and nice ranking, WITH the support of the new microphone headset, and 12 players going wild, you're truly missing out on one of the Wii's most enjoyable online experience! They even include an online mode called “Invasion Mode” which is fight to survive ways of enemies. With the addition of individual perks and team perks, you'll be surprised on how divers each match could be.

Sound- Great audio work from Jon St. John giving Ford's character more personality. It makes me feel like I'm playing as Duke Nukem at some points! But sound effects from the weapon sound great. Head shots are crunchy, and voice work from everyone else is not bad. The sound track does give some heart pounding music and tension in every boss fight, and the levels themselves are not too shabby! Bright and detailed design and color make is easy on the eyes.

Graphics- High Voltage Software know how to use the Wii. With more color pallet and distinctive level design, each stage is a new experience and sight. Granted, this is not a PS3 or Xbox360 game, so the game does look good in it's own merits. Minor graphical detail in some places but that's just nitpicking.

Overall- BUT IT! With an exciting single player experience and online one of the best, you'll be playing this with friends for hours! I'm now stroked what SEGA and High Voltage Software will have in store for the next game~

Personal opinion here, so skip to the Jimmy notes for a gist of my review.

Reviewers have stated that there is a bug in the save feature and that's NOT true. What turns me away from other editors is the lack of gameplay skills and knowledge they have. The glitch are save points that save when you die. Nope. Only if you run PAST the enemies or jump off a cliff into the next area, the game is programed to autosave in new areas, but you're suppose to defeat the enemies which contradicts the nature of the game, and go down the given path. Seriously! These reviewers, in my opinion, are lazy and just want to get their review out “FIRST”, like every comment on every page, to get more hits! Rather than enjoy a game and what it has to offer in their years of development process and be late on a review, to give a full detail on what they're trying to accomplish and deliver.

Jimmy Notes

Pros

  • Great online
  • Great design and art work
  • Tight controls
  • Awesome guns
  • Good replayability

Cons

  • Cliff hanger ending

Nyko has an amazing controller for the Wii and yes it's real. Optimal for only 3 games.

Type Pad Pro for Wii

Wii Nyko Type pad pro

I just had to do some research to make sure this was a real apparatus. It's true. Optimal for games like and Animal Crossing and Monster Hunter Tri. It would probably work well with your Wii browsers when you want to check Gouki.com on your Wii. Who is doing that? Is that a privilege 5 year olds get now? BTW 5 years old should not be reading this site.

If you MUST HAVE this item, Amazon got you for $28.67 right now with free shipping.

MadWorld Review

By: reipuerto Feb 20, 2011 | 9 Comments

A blood bath of skills. Get kills with skills… Wait a minute..

What up Jimmies?! Rei here with another  review for the Wii. People still play that? YES! And this game is seriously under-rated and underappreciated.

Developed by Platinum Games and Published by SEGA, MadWorld is a classic beat’em  with a violent twist.  Let’s get to the details…

Story- The story is rather nice. You play a man named Jack Clayman, voice by Steve Blum. It takes place in fiction city similar to New York. One day, someone released a virus that was killing everyone slowly. The antidote? Kill everyone and be the only one alive to receive it. On the out start of the game, you’re thrown into a story of violence and disperse. You get hired from a TV show to participate in a brutal game. Kill your way to the top. Kill your way to get famous. As the story progresses, you’ll find out that Jack is on his own personal mission and intends to finish it. The ones that saw Jack’s skills in the beginning want you to simply entertain them, the rich, spoiled and corrupted. With that being said, the unfortunate side is, the story is rather short, five to six hours.  It’s honestly a good story with a style like no other!

Graphics- Hot damn! Talk about a walking canvas. While the Wii can’t compare to the current gen’s graphics, the developers at Platinum Games did an amazing job in telling story and gameplay like this. With three colors, white, black and red, it’s enough to keep you hypnotized in the style of this game. It’s just stylish! They show the conversation with comic-book style story and graphics. Such a game could be played in any other system and no one would know the difference in them. The art design is a MUST to see. You start of in the slums and then… Little Asian Town. The level designs are fantastic! Little Asian Town and a Hollow ‘eve style castle will make you want to explore all the areas! With sure creative areas, you’ll want to have a second play through, because of missed kill and location opportunities.

Gameplay- This is the highlight of the game. The main focus in this game is to kill your opponents with the most creative and brutal way possible. Calling out a Wii game for its “jerk-off” controls is like calling a dwarf for being small. It’s not fair but you get used to it. And the motion controls are saved for the insane finishers. It’s a brawer, you punch, kick, grab, jump and fist pound. In each stage, you have a total of 30 minutes to complete, which is more than enough to do so. But Jack just isn’t just some big Jimmy. This Jimmy has a mechanical right arm that spawns a chainsaw! You get points for killing enemies. Punch them until you see a finisher move and see what happens. But that’s BORING!! The game is about getting kills with skills and you will see plenty of street signs to pull out from the ground, and RAM IT INTO THEIR HEAD, once stunned, pick them up and throw them to the nearest trash can on fire for combo bonus. Once you scored enough points, Blood Bath challenges open up. Here, you’ll die laughing and be stunned on what you’re killing! You’ll rack up points in no time. You get to impale them to hooks lying around and use more weapons that’ll bring on the pain. The boss battles are the greatest part in the game. You WILL remember these fights! Some more that others but you’ll be left with your jaw dropped. Some of the boss battles can seem a little repetitive once you know how to jerk the mote off. Also, the camera tends to molest you in the stiffest way. And the lock-on takes its time to lock-on. The game also has a multiplayer mode which involves the Blood Bath challenges to see who gets the most points. Two players only. A nice add-on to share the pain.

Sound- You’ll laugh at the announcers. They provide with one of the most clever and amusing commentary ever! Think of them as the announcers from the Japanese show, MXC Elimination. It’s one of the most craziest, vulgar and amusing thing you’ll ever hear. Much better than dicktits that’s for sure. Jack’s chainsaw arm sounds exactly like a chainsaw. And Steven Blum does a great voice performance in his voice for the character Jack. The music has some great rock and beats that will want you to get more points!

Overall- Buy it! Don’t be a Jimmy! It’s one of the rare gems that don’t get the credit for what that they deserve. It’s mad cheap and will keep you creative on your skills to kill!

Jimmy’s notes

Pro-

  • Fun gameplay
  • Great art work
  • Stylish
  • Awesome soundtrack

No Homo! Cho Aniki Zero and Muscle March

By: reipuerto May 9, 2010 | 0 Comments

Calling THIS, makes any situation straight!

Games that are different by their style. What would you consider them? Well, depends on the game right? Well, what about games like Muscle March and Cho Aniki 0: Muscle Brothers?

Muscle March
was released on the Wii Ware on January 18th, 2010 in North America. One or the first game of the year and it involves men in Speedo chasing after someone who stole their “protein” shake. It’s an over the top Japanese game from Namco Bandi Games, known for the Ridge Racer, Tekken, and Soul Calibur series. The player must use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk in tangent with the holes in the wall. It’s like play “Whack a Mole” but increasing speed until you catch the thief at the end of each stage. There are only three stages and each stage’s difficulty increase as the player progresses. There are seven character to choose from, one girl, but in all honestly it’s just a different palate switch one them.

In all honestly, I enjoyed Muscle March for the premise than Cho Aniki Zero. I can see that MOST gamers would be turned off but it’s and insane change of pace from shooting dudes in the face online. I mean, some people call this gay? This coming from the same dudes that are shouting to suck their d*ck online… Right, these games are gay(Sacrarium). These games are a distinct style that will make them a cult classic!

Both Muscle March and Cho Aniki Zero are in there respective platform Wii Ware and PSN for 1000 Wii Points and $19.99 respectively.

Buy Muscle March to laugh your face off!
FUCK IT! on Cho Aniki Zero because there are better side-scrolling shooters out there.

P.S. don’t get caught playing these games… You won’t live it down…

I also thought this was funny!!

A top seven list for most anticipated of E3 2011!

What up Jimmies? No one likes to read, so here's my top seven most anticipated games of E3!

Other games that didn't make the cut;

Asura's Wrath

Dmc

Alan Wake 2(?)

Bioshock Infinate

Dragon's Dogma

Soul Calibur 5

Ghost Recon: Furture Soldier

Ninja Gaiden 3

Devil's Third

and more!!! The best year to be a gamer!!!

Police Play Wii During Raid?

By: jalexbrown Sep 22, 2009 | 2 Comments

I wish I were making this up...

So every now and then you see something online and think somebody has to be making that up.  This, friends, is really one such fine example.  During a drug raid in March in Florida, detectives were caught playing bowling on Wii Sports during the nine-hour raid.

Image 1

The Polk County sheriff, Grady Judd, announced that an investigation would be launched to look into the matter.  Further, he cites this as a "mistake".  Um...yeah; a mistake?  Did they accidently turn on the Wii, accidently pick up the Wiimote, and accidently start bowling?  This could, perhaps, be the most ignorant thing I've heard in a long, long while.  To make matters worse, did these detectives not know that they were being recorded by security cameras?  What level of competence is that?  Shouldn't detectives trained to do drug raids be able to recognize a security camera?   This is just another case of tax dollars at their finest.

Nerf N-Strike Elite review exclusive video

By: goukijones Apr 21, 2010 | 5 Comments

Over in Papabear's cave, the cubs review Nerf N-Strike for the Wii.

Angel(7) had told me in one day that the Nerf game with the gun was Bad ass and he wanted to pwn that shit! I came across the game on sale for $20. Deals Jimmy! I bought the Nerf N-Strike Elite bundle and an extra gun for a total of $40. I saved $20 and now both Angel and Gio(4) can play together.

These guns also have a secondary function as an actual Nerf gun with three rounds of foam darts. Pumped activated and at close range could very well pwn you. I didn't think about this when I was buying it for two young kids. I got shot in the face a few times that night and I'm sure the other adults in the room were wondering why I brought over a toy like that.

Then we finally got to the actually game on the Wii and the kids were sucked in immediately. You can see the intense look on their faces in the video. For a beginners shooter it was pretty cool. Player one has a pistol and player two has a shotgun. The game has puzzle sequnces where you need to use the inferad sensor on the gun. I also some cool variations on the bad guys and how to kill them. You are also given the oppertunity to upgrade your guns inbetween levels. Though I think it was just cosmetic, the kids didn't know the difference and it is a good basis to explain how to upgrade their when they're playing Modern Warfare next year. Watch the video now!

Tatsunoko VS Capcom preview

By: goukijones Jan 20, 2010 | 6 Comments

How the fuck do you play this with a Wii-mote?!

I played this Tatsunoko VS Capcom once with a Wii-mote holding it sideways. I didn't have a clue what to do. Dash in smash buttons, attack opponent it seemed to be similar to MvC2. Just because it's on the Wii I'm not excited for it all. I think I would have to buy the Nintendo Wii fight stick just to enjoy it. I have no idea how/why Nintendo got the rights for this game to be exclusive. If the game was coming out exclusively for either the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3 I would be buying it next week. Hell, I bought the Limited edition of Blaz Blue! Check out a few cool videos I pull from the tube.

E3 Nintendo Press Conference Review

By: reipuerto Jun 7, 2011 | 5 Comments

My take on Nintendo's Press Conference. With pictures! ;)

Press conference starts off with link's history through out time, done by full orchestral.

Shigiro Miyamoto gets on stage and gets a translator. eShop channel for the 3DS will have the Gameboy Color; The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awaking DX and not the DX version, shame. The DS will also including a Legend of Zelda Four Sword for free! There's also a Zelda concert that'll be preforming in each region! Free sound track from Club Nintendo if you register your Zelda 3DS. Zelda will also receive a gold controller for Skyward Sword. Bundle? Then Miyamoto-san gives thanks for all these years of gaming!

Satouro Iwata comes and talks about Wii2. The crowd gets blue balls! It's schedule for coming next year, 2012. Titles shown are;

Mario Kart 3D, Star Fox 3D, New Super Mario Bros, Kid Icarus, Luigi's Mansion 2, and some more.

Reggie comes on stage. Shows off Mario Kart 3DS. You can now drive underwater and is schedule to be released this holiday season.

Star Fox 3DS. Uses till controls(as shown above) and 3D. Has a great feature of real face time and will be available this September and well as Mario before this year.

Kid Icarus shows of multiplayer and a Kid Icarus battle card game!

Lugi's is back in Luigi's Mansion 2! Looks funny and fun! Several new mansions!

Then some trailers are show with games to come, like: Ace combat 3D, Tetris 3D, Tekken 3D, MGS Snake Eater 3D. The eShop will also have demo's via in gamestore, and trailers, later this year. Pokemon 3D is not what we though. It's pokemon and it has spot pass so you can collect them all.

The he talks about the new name system, called WiiU, which is about you and me! The controller was only shown but it has a 6.2 screen on the controller, microphone, gyros, accelerometers, speakers, rumble, inward and outward facing cameras, and all Wii accessories work with it. Not a portable machine but an extension of the system. Has crazy possibilities. Smash Brothers was annoucced for both 3DS and WiiU!!

Official game, Lego City Story is an open ended city for both WiiU and 3DS.

EA parnership for WiiU. Reggie showing video of developers praising the Wii U, like; Peter Moore, Yves Guillemot, Danny Bilson, Ken Levine, and more.

Darksiders 2 will be at launch! Batman Arkham City! Assassin's Creed! Ghost Recon! Aliens: Colonial Marines was just shown running on Wii U at the Nintendo E3 press conference! Nintendo has Ninja Gaiden 3!

It's AMAZING! Think about it. The controller is the CONNECTION to the WiiU. The system is still separate! But this bring more questions than answers. How much will the controller be and the System be?

It's coming holiday 2012, so we still have much more to see! Let us know, down below!

Don't be a Jimmy! Lol!
