Got my hands the new DLC for Dishonored last week. I beat it. I found some weird glitches happening. You can check out my thots here & take a look at this weird screen glitching. Prolly just the XBOX being from the nubfarm.

It’s no secret at this point. This Jimmy right here -this Jimmy trying to write out this story- is a BIG FAN of Dishonored. I got the Witches of Brigmore last week from Bethesda, shout out Bethesda. They love the FnJimmy Golden Video Review, they tell me. Sure. I had know idea what this DLC was about, I don’t have any of the other DLC & I can’t tell you too many DLC’s that I’ve liked in the past.

Swerve! This 1 is tight. You play a completely different character, one you -as the main character- actually killed in the Main Story. He was a boss. Daud. So you start out as Daud & you have to fight off the attack from the Main Story. Really sweet stuff. I think it’s a great idea & this DLC was off to a good start.

Daud has a bunch of different moves. He can summon assassin’s to fight alongside of him. (That was the first 1 I upgraded fully.) You can also improve his running, jumping, stealth just like the main character, Corvo. Daud seemed to move WAY faster than Corvo when I maxed him out. He was at least twice as fast as any guard running after him & I had him crouched! But he is the assassin class in the game. The DLC definitely gives you a nice feeling of something different & new with the differences in this playable character.

I got 2 days of gameplay out of this. Prolly a total of 8 hours. That was only playing thru once & not on the maximum difficult. So there is definitely some replay value. And I am almost fairly certain that there are multiple endings.

There are tons of new enemies as well & the DLC takes you to a new Location. BUUUUUUUUUUT the graphics aren’t that great already in Dishonored, but these weird glitches don’t help. Sometimes I would stop to look around the room cuz I thot hidden shit was flashing at me. Check out this clip.

Regardless that little glitching -like I said, it’s prolly just the Xbox- this DLC is worth it & it’s fun! Dishonored is fun! Check out my full review with Bullet Points.

Buy it!

Thanks for reading.

Yesterday Gouki checked out the new Hi Scores Bar-Arcade in Las Vegas, Nevada. Super friendly & polite staff. Craft beers & great food. 1 Street Fighter 2 Machine in a Street Fighter The Movie case. Big sad face there. No worries tho, plenty else to PWN!

Yeah I wanted to play Street Fighter The Movie the arcade. lol. BatRastered first tipped me off that that game would be available there. He must have just seen the cabinet. I had a ton of fun with SFTMta back in the day at Mary K's. Blowing up the helicopter in the background while fighting was an innovative milestone.

PrettyMiwa & I hung out for a while. I tried Paulener craft beer. It was okay, it was $6 bucks. Later on I had a bottled Virgi'ls Root Beer & that was really good. If you're a root beer fan, check it out. It was $3.25. For Lunch, PrettyMiwa got the Fish & Chips. Looked pretty standard to me. Some potato chips on the side. She said it was good & it was gone in the matter of moments. That was $12 bucks. I got the Flying Hawaiian & I had no idea what I was getting into. A spicy chicken sandwich with tons of Hawaiian sauce, some weird lettuce that Miwa said was Japanese. Of course it was. & Pineapple. It was really good. $10.00. All that with Miwa's ice tea was $36.48. Not bad, if I were in a drinking mood, it could have been over $50. I didn't try any of the special drinks. Not looking to get too railed in the middle of the afternoon anymore.

Gamers should go & check this place out. It's very welcoming. There wasn't super loud music playing constantly to where you wouldn't be able to enjoy the games. The GM Leif is also very friendly with local game clubs & is encouraging toward you having an event at Hi Scores Bar-Arcade.

I took some pictures as well. I'll include some ramblings with each 1.

There's girls there. I didn't get to talk to these 2 too much about video games, but they were very nice. Thanks for the picture girls. Our waitress however, I did get to grill about video games. She plays Sonic games on her PS3 & plays a lot of Wii. I don't know anybody still playing the bowling on Wii, but if you are. Rock on! You gotta be good as hell at that now.

More of me just rambling about EVO from day 2. Hope you enjoy my nonsense.

I'm sitting down to write this a day later, I was there until almost 1am last night. Yesterday was another epic day at EVO.

We arrived around 11:30am and met up with Vicko, who was doing his mods in the Mad Catz booth. This Jimmy is pro status in the modding community. I'd let him touch my stick anytime. He was chillin' with Fanatiq back there probably fixing his paid, rumor is Fanatiq pounds one of the bumpers and is always wrecking the sensor. Shout out to pad players, I love it!

Vicko's pool play was at 12 Noon and he was going to represent for Gouki.com and wear our shirt while he played. Much love for that, I really appreciate that kind of support. We filmed all of his matches and I will post them on Gouki later this week. Unfortunately he didn't make it out of his pool, but he put up a helluva a fight and was very exciting to watch. I want to scream and cheer for him, but I was extremely focused on capturing his matches. I shot it off-screen and I tried my best to keep the screen in frame.

Just as Vicko finished his match, another Las Vegas local Ruin was on the main stage fighting Mame Spider. I captured this on film as well, but I'm not sure if Ruin would like me to share it. Probably not. Ruin was defeated by Mame spider in a great match. I was really proud to see Las Vegas on the main stage.

Lunch time. Trying to stand perfectly still and capture these matches was taking a toll on my frail white ass. We trekked over the Imperial Palace and ate a place called Quesadilla. They served Mexican food, if you couldn't figure that out. They also had $3 Coronas, which was way better than the $7 we were paying for beers the the day before. I had 3 chicken tacos for lunch, they were excellent. I wish I remembered the name of the hot sauce, that was the best part.

When we got back to EVO I had to pee like 3 times. Fuck me. At least my ass was dripping or even worse, bleeding. Speaking of a bleeding ass, I got to finally see My Little Pony - Fighting is Magic. For the longest time I didn't even this think this game was real. Well I finally saw it yesterday and I got some off-screen footage which I'll be posting later this week. The game was running in a 4x3 screen on a PC. It looked a little dated graphically, but from what I can tell the fighting seem to have combos and wall bounces like fighting games. I didn't get a change to play it because the Bronies playing would not share the stick. The most disgusting one of the bunch was explaining to me how the game worked. He had long dirty fingernails. That is an instant classification of disgusting. Unacceptable don't be a Jimmy! Anyway, the buttons are l, m, h, and Magic. That's about all the info I got out of it, since I couldn't play and there was nobody there to talk to about the game.

Right now live in the Gouki.com offices we're watching the Mortal Kombat top 8. I'm going to have a shot in accompany to my beer.

Fuck yeah! Feeling good now, back to my half assed memory of yesterday. So we split with BatRastered and I stayed at EVO with PrettyMiwa and Guano. I had no idea where Guano was so I was just snapping shot of the venue. I spoke to Keits for a moment, introduced myself, asked for any advice for getting a mjor tournament organized here in Las Vegas and we spoke briefly about DiveKick. Keits was super awesome. Ran over and talked to Markman realy quick. Markman is the guy in charge of getting the EVO fightsticks lost in customs. lol. Shout out to Markman.

EVO was really packed at this point and Ultmiate was coming down the quarterfinals and a lot of people were already packing into the fron to watch. Not long before it was standing room only. I got to see a match on SFxT with Mike Ross and Combofiend. Mike Ross looked awesome with his Marduk, but the girl in front of us couldn't stand still and I was bobbing and weeving just trying to watch the match.

Then I hear Guano shouting from a distance to come and sit down to watch the Marvel quarter finals. Yo we sat there for like 5 hours watching the best players in the country in some of the most exciting matches and unique teams I've ever seen. Filipino Champ is on a tear right now and I'd loved to see that Modok in the finals against his Phoenix. We got out of there around 12:30. Another great day at EVO. Now I'm gonna chill and watch the finals from home. Watching Mortal Kombat now, this game is really good, watching high level play.

Vote, Comment and Share. Don't be a Jimmy!

I haven't read over anything above. :) That's why this is a blither blathering blog. Thanks for reading.

Tron is my favorite character in Marvel VS Capcom 3. While playing UMvC3 I noticed that the chains just weren't there anymore. Jimmy don't like that!

FnJimmy and I had the pleasure to square off against one another in UMv3 a few times over the weekend. We have our first match on tape and you can watch that below. But before you do, I would like to clarify that I do not like anything about UMvC3 except that it has more characters that I might want to use.

Tron is definitely not the same, the simple drill into medium attack, repeat and carry on combo is gone. You can clearly see in the video me attempting to do it. Maybe the timing is different in UMvC3, maybe not, I was struggling for sure. I don't like the health bars. I'm totally confused which is which, it's dark and hard to see, especially when everything in UMvC3 is already moving fast enough and is all over the screen.

I used Dr. Strange and Nemesis and you can see my PWNn with Strange in the video below, but not so much with the Nemesis. I don't like him too much. Another time we played I used Ghost Rider again(I used him at EVO.) Ghost Rider is cool, Hulk don't like that chain reaching across the map and neither does FnJimmy. So if my Tron truly is nerfed, it be Ghost Rider stepping in as of now. Don't be a Jimmy! Watch the video and leave some comments below. And don't forget to hype the UMvC3 up on the catalog page.

EVO 2012 Day 1 BLOG Full On Nonsense. Just Paragraphs. :(

By: goukijones Jul 6, 2012 | 5 Comments | Updated: Jul 19, 2012

I basically try to recap the day while slowly drinking four beers and mixing in a few shots of whiskey. Well done vintage blithering blathering. Don't be a Jimmy. EVO 2012 Day 1 was spectacular and I enjoyed every second of it.

BatRastered and myself departed the house around 10am. We both for forgot our business cards. So we had to turn back and get them. Don't be a Jimmy! We were finally on the way. Traffic was nice, we drove past all of the metal donkeys on the side of the freeway. Parking was ridiculous. The Ceaser's Palace parking garage was packed and it seemed like we were never going to get a space. We continued drive to around in circles for unrelenting 20 minutes. There were 2 cars in front us, at this point we figured we were not getting a space, ever! I saw somebody pull out in the row next to us. Now was our chance, we just needed these to Jimmys in front of to keep on driving straight. They did, we parked, lets talk about EVO.

Having EVO at Ceaser's Palace is the best, it's a perfect fight for the fighting game championship of the world. Shout out to Mr. Wizard for again inviting Gouki.com and putting on a hell of a production with EVO 2012. This truly is one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. I'm proud that EVO takes place in Las Vegas.

BatRastered and I ventured inside the Emperor's room into the world of EVO. The musty scent almost knocked us out the second we passed the threshold of PWN. We bumped around for a short while, checking out the lay out, looking for anyone we know. DiveKick! Heard. I've been wanting to play DiveKick since I first saw that sweet trailer 6 months ago. Well a lot has changed since that trailer, like there isn't just 2 CHARACTERS -in a loud booming voice- in the game any more. There are 6 now and 2 more possibly if some Jimmy buys them with the KickStarter program. Now I've heard some shit that Keits has been getting for asking for 30k to get DiveKick shipped, but I don't care. He was charging a dollar to play DiveKick on the big screen at EVO. Apparently it was the same deal at UFGT & CEO. That's cool. People want to play this game and they will pay a dollar to play it. Not me. We got in the free line. There's a free line that is on a smaller TV.

BatRastered played first and he won his match. I played second. The guy playing me was talking on the side of me to other people about DiveKick. He sounded like he knew what was up. I asked him how do I select my character. He explained the different ways of selecting 1 of the 5 or 6 fighters. I figure, I'm done at this point, I'm about to be exposed as a DiveKick fraud. I beat the him 5 to 3. PWNN! He was in shock. That's what happens when you fight GoukiJones. I'm the number 1 DiveKick player in Las Vegas.

Next BatRastered and I played Nidhog. Nidhog is another indie game appearing at EVO, it's very very retro in style. The graphics look like old school Atari.2 characters, both have swords. You can crouch low and kick, you can throw the sword, but then it's drop on the ground and you have to pick it back up. Also just a straight lunge forward with the sword is available. On the first screen you face off against your opponet. The goal is to get past your opponent and run to the end of the map. There's like 3 or 4 screens to run though. Whoever makes it to the end wins. Very simple, very cool. More maps would increase replay value. BTW I beat BatRastered. Number 1 in the World!

We check out the rest of the indie games, but didn't get a chance to play any. Saw Persona 4, I think. Justice League Injustice was there, but we didn't stand around to watch the demo. It was probably the demo we saw at E3, I'll try and get some of it on video tomorrow. We also saw Playstation All Stars Battle Royal. Meh. Sorry. I have 0 feelings for this game. I do appreciate that Sony is trying to sell it in the FGC. I mean they got Clockwork on the dev team. Gootecks this it's genius. I don't know if it's going to work. I think the FGC sees it as a Smash Clone and for that reason has already dismissed it. Will Justin Wong be playing Battle Royal on some stream or at tournaments after it comes out? I don't think so.

Okay, we had to get out of there and find out where the panels were being held. The EVO app on the iPhone was buried in another program called Guidebooks. Shout out to Guano for tipping us off that the APP info was on the back of our badge. Fuckin' Jimmys! We split up with Guano at that point, he had to lube his stick and lighten his load. While we were talking to Guano in the hallway we bumped into Delriach. Delriach is reppin' the nationwide Mortal Kombat and will be doing commentary on the stream tomorrow. Shot out ot Delraich, keep pwnn bro!

At some point we bumped into Vicko. Also known as VivoVicko is a Las Vegas local. Cool guy, does stick mods and travels the country playing in different tournaments. He got his new business cards today and he was excited about that. If you live in the Las Vegas area and need your stick modded, call this Jimmy today! He can also get you custom painted balltops. Anything you can imagine. Sweet stuff, definitely take a look.

I'm really having a hard time of remember what happened next. I'm tired now. We're watching the stream of the semi finals. Where is Marn? We had lunch with Guano, his match wasn't until 4pm. No beer for Guano. He leaned into the waitress and asked the waitress to split his check off. I saw that has a private conversation and expected the waitress to bring back to checks. 1 for Guano and 1 for Team Gouki. She brings back 3. Jimmy. Either way we all handled it.

2PM Capcom Panel. Panel opens up with SFxT. It didn't surprise me with the amount of people that still are passionate about SFxT. 1 guy said that he was the player left in his community. :) This will be the last year this game is at EVO and possibly ever discussed. The we got some Derek Neal and Ryota Niitsuma action. Derek Neal is making the HD and updated version of Marvel VS Capcom & Marvel Super Heroes and everything he said sounded great. I loved all of the ideas they were implementing and a lot was based on user feedback. Derek's got it easy, he's got a great game already made and just has to make the online experience something memorial. There's tons of achievements and I saw in-game achievements like using correct spacing and such. That's cool. At this point I'm thinking this game is going to be teaching Jimmys how to play. That all looks great. [BatRastered Capcom's Panel Story]

Now it was time to talk about Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. -excuse me, I may lose it ahead- First they accidently show a slide to the room of something called "Clash Idea" and the picture shows Wolverine's Berserker Barrage clashing with Ryu's Super Fireball. Then the screen goes blank again and they start the panel. Shout out to Cinderkin for translating for Niitsuma. The first thing out of Niitsuma's grill is "We're not going to patch UMvC3." Okay. Fine. We're [Capcom] just want to talk to about stuff we wanted to do with Ultimate, but cut out in the final product. What do you think?

What do I think? I think this is complete bullshit and I'm extremely bored. This talk about old shit we ain't gonna do nothing with was a complete waste of time. At this point, the SFxT stuff was more interesting, because at least we were getting new information about a game still being updated and taken care of. Why has Capcom given up on Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3? They hint at it being Marvel's fault. 1 of the questions asked was about if Marvel being acquired by Disney has hindered them working together. No. Was the answer. I belive Marvel wants to move on. I don't think we'll see a Marvel VS Capcom 4 anytime soon. If this genre ever went the way of COD or Maddens, the fall of the fighting games would be worse than the 90's. There are already too many games competing in the fighting game genre. They should just add more characters, but it was also confirmed during this panel that there will be no more new characters for UMvC3.

Basically Capcom is done with the game. They are working on something, but can't say. Darkstalkers Jimmy! All the signs point to it. I even got an inside tip that Capcom will be unveiling something big next week at SDCC. Darkstalkers Jimmy! I've been calling this for months. Vampy is going to be there, contract by Capcom to appear in cosplay as Felicia. Ono-san will be there and it was in Comic-Con 2012 where he showed us SFxT for the first time. All signs point to something new. Darkstalkers Jimmy! I'm over this. I'll be there and I'll let you know first hand.

4PM Guano Pool. Well it was actually like 3:42PM and we were just standing in front of the SFxT vita display. The display was completely empty. That's what's up with the Vita and the SFxT. As we chatted Ruin appeared out of the corner of my eye. Early in the week Ruin and I had a conversation about leveling up earlier this week. Some didn't approve of my comments, but I think Ruin understood what I was trying to say after we twated each other on the tweeter. So I said to him what's up and who I was. We hugged it out. That's right, we hugged it out in the middle of EVO 2012. Keeping it gangsta. I want to help Las Vegas get stronger in the FGC. Vegas Tech is what I've been saying! Ruin gets it, I want to help improve the seen. We had a quick chat, he doesn't want me to film is Marvel play tomorrow, but is cool with me filming the KOF. I want to see Ruin play KOF, but I want to cheer on Vicko on as well and capture his play. We'll have to see what happens tomorrow and get as much footage as possible.

Bumped into Cujo Kate while still waiting for Guano. I think that's how it spells. She was dressed as Vega. She remembered us as soon as she saw BatRastered towering over her. She started to tell me about her matches in the morning. She had an AM pool. Welcome to EVO. Tomorrow she has an 8AM Street Fighter X Tekken pool. SFxT lol. Anyway back to her matches in the morning. She was telling me about frame traps and wake up super and Vega moves I'd never heard of. I'm praying to god I wouldn't have to open my moth and react in anyway like I knew what she was talking about. I'm really bad with SF4. BatRastered was asking what are Cammy's moves and I told him I didn't know. So I hope I didn't embarrass myself with Kate too much. She said she'd be back tomorrow as Spider Woman. I'll try to get a picture. Here's a pic of her as Vega.

Guano finally got into his pool and played DLimit. DLimit used Guile. Guile VS Ken. Guano gave a few too many free uppercuts that allowed DLimit to get the upper hand. Well that's how I remember it right now. I'll upload some videos in a few days and we can all decide.

The day was done at this point. I came home and started to write all this nonsense. I have no idea what was written above really. I've had a few beers and some chicken. Now it's time to do the podcast. Thanks to everyone we ran into today. Had a great day at EVO Day 1. Gonna finish watching these quarterfinals and record the podcast. Vote, Comment and Share. Don't be a Jimmy!

It seems always that Nintendo may sacrifice graphics for what is actually happening in the game. I don't even know if that makes any sense. Check out this trailer for Tank! Tank! Tank! and tell me what you think.

Gran Turismo 5 VS Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

By: goukijones Nov 26, 2010 | 18 Comments

So for the thanksgiving I visited with family and friends. I also brought along Gran Turismo 5 and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit. Of course my friend grabbed the Gran Turismo 5 first, but what happened next is unbelievable.

I guess you can say this was an intended experiment to see what my friend thought of these two brand new racing games. Gran Turismo 5 was still in the shrink wrap when I brought it over. I had already played the crap out of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit and it's no secret that I love it. They writin' stories about my record times on the internet.

My friend immediately grabbed for the Gran Turismo 5, unwrapped it and put it in his Playstation 3. Of course we had to do a system update and an install. It's the Playstation what did you expect I told him. Reports on the internet was that there is a 45+ minute install time for GT5. Luckily we were distracted by family, football, alcohol and turkey. After the install I grabbed the remote and started to look through the menus. I just wanted a quick race so I can see it. I've been waiting for such a long time for this game and the internet has been an unstoppable buzz machine about everything GT5. Well I couldn't just race, I had to do a license test first. First license braking challenge. Ok seems simple enough. The countdown begins and then I'm off down the straight away. There is a giant checkered board at the end of the track, I guess gotta stop there. No problem. Perfect. Wait what? Failed? Aw fuck. I was called for the official turkey dinner start and left the game running right where I failed to brake. I was in shock that I failed the braking test.

After the meal I headed back into the game room and found my friend all up in the Gran Turismo 5. He was still trying to get a license so we could get into a real race. After each attempt at a challenge he handed me the remote and asked if I'd like to play. I respectfully declined. Watching was more than enough for me. 30 minutes later we had a license and entered a race. I still haven't seen anything really special, the game appears to be extremely in-depth and that kind of interests me. I watched my friend do one race and then it was my turn. After playing so much Need for Speed Hot Pursuit there was nothing special about driving a shit car in GT5 at 55 MPH. I was extremely bored with that type of racing. I imagine it would get better with more gameplay and more cars unlocked, but we didn't have time for that and I really wanted him to see the other game I brought at this point.

Finally we put in the Need for Speed Hot Pursuit into his Xbox 360. Within 3 minutes he was already racing. Then as the map began to open up and he unlocked more cop and racer events, it was clear to me we had a winner. He dropped subtle hints to his wife that he needed this game asap or a divorce was imminent. The funny thing about all of this to me is that my friend never asked me once if I wanted to play the Need for Speed, like he did in-between every GT5 load screen.

Gran Turismo 5 is a simulation. A serious simulation of a race car driver who must buy his own car collection, earn his own licenses and level up like an RPG. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is a straight up arcade racer that puts you into high speed racing action right away. I don't have an official opinion on Gran Turismo 5, but I'm sure I'll play it eventually ... if I can ever get off of Need for Speed and trying to beat all of my friends times on the speed wall. Thanks for reading.

Jimmy Gem Video Game Awards 2017

By: goukijones Dec 31, 2017 | 2 Comments

GoukiJones' top 9 favorite games from 2017. Old and new.

#9 Halo Wars 2: was the first major release for me this year that I was really into.  The original came out in 2009 or something and I was still playing it up to the release of this new version.  I played the new version for a little while, but as I sit here and try to recollect my experiences… There isn’t much.  I don’t have much desire to play this game, it just seems to have way too much going on.  I’d try to play the original Halo Wars again before I booted part 2 up.

#8 Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age: This is my favorite Final Fantasy game of all time.  I was so thrilled to hear Square was planning to re-release this game in 2017.  I got it and beat it again.  Easily the FF game I’ve beaten the most.  I plan to go back in, one more time, to max out every character.  One of these days...
Check out my REVIEW

It should work the same right? PS Vita is a strong machine ... so it should look good too. Right? I don't know, I haven't been able to get hands on anywhere I've actually played a PS Vita.

I have said this in the past though. Uncharted Vita (or whatever it's called) and Ultimate Marvel on the Vita are the only two games I'm interested in. I was just out of town for a week (it felt like a month) and I wish had a handheld version of Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 with me. I'm addicted to it at home.

Oh god, here's where I completely contradict myself. I haven't even beaten Uncharted 3 yet. Honestly it's not that good, ask around. And I don't really play Ultimate that much, maybe like twice a week with very few practice sessions mixed in. I played the PS Vita again last week in Miami. I played it two weeks ago at CES. I played it at E3 and at PAX last year. It is a nice machine. $250 is a lot to ask from me right now. I got hosting and cell phones and other bad habits I NEED to have.

Forget about the price. I would use it. I say that now and then maybe after a week I would forget about it. Because I'm not on the road a lot and I have the console versions in the other room. I would definitely want it for traveling. Remember I don't ever go out of the house.

Can you imagine EVO this year for a second. Everyone is going to have a PS Vita with UMvC3. They gonna be blowing up the WiFi. There are some really cool features in this mobile version. With that said, UMvC3 should work just the same as the console version right. Unless you just can't play the game with out a fight stick. I still think that you can get a lot of practice and help stay fresh with the game, again if you can't play on a console or without a stick. Plus everyone else you're fighting against will also be using a PS Vita. Until some crazy white dude in his parents basement someday figures out how to hack in a fight stick into a PS Vita. Until then, well then you're fucked.

Check out the features in this video below and then let me know your takes in the comments below. Don't be a Jimmy!

When people ask me what is my favorite Final Fantasy, I tell them it’s Final Fantasy XII. And most people look at me like I’m crazy. When I ask if they’ve even played the game, and they say no. So… I’m telling you guys, you have to give it a shot.

This IS my favorite Final Fantasy.  The world is huge and connected all throughout, you can walk from one end to the to other.  Fully animated cut scenes and great voice acting bring the characters to life.  I love them all.  The story includes Final Fantasy Judges, Viera, magic, mystery, two brothers in conflict, betrayal, a lost boy, a thief and his co-pilot, a dead husband and powerful enemy.  I love this story. (Yes, I have actually watched the story cut scenes in this game.)  Most conclusively, the main reason I love FF12 is the combat has been my favorite design in any Final Fantasy.  The gambit system and programming your team to react in battle is a blast.  It’s the main element why I’ve played through it 3 times.  *3 times is a lot for me in my world of gaming.

CBS Films announces a Director for a ‘Deus Ex’ feature film based on the well known video game franchise.

That video has nothing to do with the release from CBS films, I just Googled for something to see what was out there & that came up. I think it's cool.

From CBS Films:

Set in the near future, when dramatic advances in science, specifically human augmentation, have triggered a technological renaissance, Deus Ex: Human Revolution follows Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT security specialist who must embrace mechanical augments in order to unravel a global conspiracy.

"Deus Ex is a phenomenal cyberpunk game with soul and intelligence,” said Derrickson, who continued, “By combining amazing action and tension with big, philosophical ideas, Deus Ex is smart, ballsy, and will make one hell of a movie. Cargill and I can't wait to bring it to the big screen."

Is the SMART engine in Brink the future of FPS

By: goukijones Aug 25, 2010 | 9 Comments

Is Splash Damage going to change everything with Brink and their new engine called "SMART" ???

I first heard of Brink about a year ago. I saw the teaser for it and thought the concept of the island and the to factions feuding sounded cool. The teaser said it was coming out in Spring 2010. LOL. It's cool, good games take time. I always say delay it until it's perfect. Unless you're Gran Turismo 5, which I don't even know what the fuck they are doing anymore. Now there are karts ... wait getting off target.

Brink has had me juiced ever since I saw this video late last year. I told BatRastered that this is "the video that has me totally into this game." At this point last year we were Borderlands fiends. BatRastered way more than me. It was kind of hard for me to talk about a game that was so similar to Borderlands at first glance. I didn't think that, at all. When I saw the SMART engine working, I thought that we could do some really cool stuff with that. Check it out, Paul Wedgwood the Game Director playing in this video.

Now the first time a lot of people saw Brink was the CG trailer they released. I knew what was behind that trailer and if they were trying to say that is what it's going to be like when it comes out. Cool. Of course people were like "Yeah right, there's no way it'll be anything like that." Well I hope after watching the first video you understand why I think it will play like that. It's Hardcore Parkour FPS = HPFPS. WOW!

Finally it was time for E3 and I knew Brink was going to be there. It was one my E3 most wanted list top 10. Getting to play would really set my opinion straight. When E3 came around and I was on the floor talking with Ed Stern and actually playing Brink. I forgot about the Parkour stuff. I didn't get to see it all in the E3 Demo. I realzed this when I came home later that week. I didn't even see the jumping and sliding stuff. I thought. That was the gameplay element I was most interested about. Bongoboy had me going so fast through the demo; changin' classes, accepting missions, shooting Jimmys. It was cool though.

These next 3 videos are just straight forward gameplay and they are incredible. Warning God mode activated. First video = Zzzzz. The second video shows off some more slick jumping in combat and what some of the specific chracters classes do. The third video shows planting a bomb and defending an area the developer was trying to breach. To create a shortcut for his teammates.  Awesome stuff there. Looks very exciting.

By now you understand where I'm going with the combat and "Moving and shooting" concept that, Technical Game Designer, Aubrey Hesselgren speaks of in this next video. Brink is do out in January, right before my birthday. I hope it's going to be a good one. With videos like these coming out as we get closer, I am constantly walking around with a stiffy thinking about the SMART engine! C'mon! Sticky baum to ya garill!

Thrilled yet?
