Battlefield 3 is now available for pre-order through Amazon. Also check out the new teaser trailer.
Amazon just unlocked the Pre-order for Battlefield 3. Battlefield is my preferred earth shooter. You can expect Team Gouki to be all over this when it is release sometime in the future.
That box art is probably unofficial. There is no confirmed release date. Amazon just appears to just have a filler date. Battlefield could come out this year. If there is no COD, it would be good for Battlefield to compete with Gears this holiday season.

Battlefield 3 was marketed well but EA are back to what they do best. Ruin the experience. This is about the whole "Exclusive DLC" promotion and why gamers are angry at EA and DICE.
Let's be honest, Battlefield 3 is one of our anticipated games this year. EA and DICE have done well to market the game and almost diminish the popularity of the new COD franchise. Battlefield 3 won the crowd at E3 with their playable demo last week, but it seems like the first real mistake from EA on BF3 has emerged and possible can hurt them badly.
Last week EA, in an attempt to encourage people in UK to pre-order the game included the "Physical Warfare Pack" as an exclusive pre-order bonus. It includes an exclusive LMG, a flash suppressor attachment and flechette ammo. Fans aren't happy about EA forcing people to buy the game before the release by offering exclusive items from 'specific' retail shops. They are basically force to get access to the full equipment arsenal. This angered the fans and the 'Boycott BF3' movement was formed by redditors. Last couple of days /r/gaming has been busy with both angry and funny posts on the whole DLC fiasco.
Even @notch, the developer of minecraft reacted to this via twitter.

EA responded to official "Battlefield 3" blog after the reddit thread started picking up steam. EA representative defended his position on Launch DLC for BF3 by saying that "Owning these items will give you a more varied arsenal, but it will not give you a significant advantage on the battlefield." Here's the point. Most people buy the damn game to play multiplayer. When they don't get the full package they get angry and that's understandable. EA is persistant with their stand and say "they were chosen not to be overpowered or imbalance or break the game in anyway" If EA wants to encourage people to buy it why not provide everyone the equal arsenal. As always EA doesn't change their mind unless someone proves them they are wrong and embarrass them in public forums like the old BFBC days.
Yes! EA attempted the same DLC practice with "Battlefield: Bad Company" but ended up pulling back after a boycott on SarcasticGamer.com complained about the balance issues associated with exclusive weapons and equipment in a multiplayer shooter. Both @EA and @Battliefield twitter handles have been receiving much hate every hour. Most of them saying they have cancelled the pre-order. Let's hope EA pulls back this crap too like the BFBC bs.
Still no update on when to expect this patch, but it's looking pretty massive right now. Here's a list of confirmed fixes so far, but this isn't even complete yet according to DICE. Let us know what you like and dislike about the changes in the comments!
GENERAL GAMEPLAY FIXES:
-Players should no longer take fall damage from short falls.
-Players now get up from Prone slightly faster, allowing better odds of getting away from a grenade or threat when prone.
-Fixed some situations that would unintentionally make a player unrevivable.
-Reduced the black screen fade in time on spawn. The fade is still necessary for properly streaming in loading content at spawn, but it has been substantially reduced.
-Increased the spawn protection time from 1sec to 2sec. The protection will still be immediately canceled as soon as the player moves or shoots.
-Spawn protection will no longer be canceled by the player looking around.
-Increased the speed at which a player regains accuracy when aiming after moving for a more responsive experience. Firing before fully zoomed will still result inaccurate fire.
-Increased the inaccuracy and recoil added when a player is fully suppressed.
-Shotgun Buck and Flechette rounds now have a less suppressive effect at medium to long range.
-Tweaked the damage levels of Buck and Flechette rounds to balance them with other weapons.
-Improved the suppression of the .44 magnum, .357 magnum, and the 5.8x42mm DAP88 rounds from the Type88 sniper.
-Attempting to Crouch (like Prone) will now properly interrupt Sprint.
-Increased the effectiveness of Suppression Resist Specialization.
-Parachutes now respond to turn and throttle inputs more quickly.
-Switching from primary weapons to sidearms and back now takes less time.
-Increased the effectiveness of explosive resistance.
-Tweaked bipod deploy settings so players can no longer deploy a bipod in places higher than chin level.
-The bipod should now be more reliable when deploying on top of sloped objects like cars and rocks.
-Fixed several issues with vaulting objects, especially for thin railings.
-The Knife now only takes two swipes to kill when attacking from a position where a takedown is not possible.
-CRAM weapons on Carriers now count towards stationary weapon awards.
