Ono announced a patch is forthcoming during a panel at EVO.

Do you feel Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition is unbalanced? Much of the fighting community does, and Capcom is listening. Sometime later this year (Seth Killian says "fall or winter") we will see a free patch for AE that will rebalance some of the characters.

No details were given as to what the balancing might be, but we can guess that Yun will be nerfed somewhat.

Ono also asked that people lay off him on the Twitter. You see? You hurt his feelings, so stop it.

By: goukijones Aug 1, 2011 | 6 Comments

Gouki.com had the honor to speak with Yoshinori Ono from Capcom while at EVO 2011. Check out this exclusive interview.

The video speaks for itself.

Thank you very much to Yoshinori Ono and Capcom.

BatRastered goes one on one with the white Ono, Mike Z. Mike share some of the most badass nice features that come with Skullgirls and it's not all about the fighting.

Mike Z talks about the exclusive, revolutionary and the future of fighting game features.

Here's the first ever battle of GoukiJones VS FnJimmy in Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. EVO 2011.

That's BatRastered behind the camera, so don't look at me Jimmy. Tell him how he did in the comments.

First of all my stick was busted. I would dash forward and Ghost Rider would just crouch. WTF Capcom? They gave us these sweet orange shirts. I want one. FnJimmy vintagely times out on the character screen. Don't be a Jimmy!

Check out these clips from EVO 2011 Day 1 of developer Mike Z talking about his new game, Skullgirls. It's amazing Jimmys.

Mike Z is a developer and he loves the fighting games. Just listen to him talk.

Chicks of EVO 2011

By: goukijones Aug 3, 2011 | 3 Comments

We talked to a few chicks at EVO about well ... EVO. There were not that many girls there, just so we're clear. It was a total Jimmyfest, as somebody Twat me on the Twitter.

First up Kate B from Pittsburgh. The only chick we spoke to that was actually entered in EVO. We almost got to speak with Kayo Police, but nobody knew wtf was going on. That video wouldn't have been in this story anyway.

We bumped into an X-23 and she didn't know what was going on, but thanks for the video.

And of course Gouki.com's good buddy and official Third Strike Ambassador J4Yx2. Follow this chick on Twitter or get a spinning bird kick up ya ass!

We've told you about the upcoming fightstick bags already, now we go hands on with them at the Mad Catz booth at EVO 2011. There's also a hand full of other great Mad Catz gear to check out.

Don't be a Jimmy; protect your stick!

Don't forget, you can save 10% off your Mad Catz store order with code GOUKISTICKS exclusively from Gouki.com!

Bonus: Here's a short code to the bags for you to tweet: http://bit.ly/fightstickbag

Pictures from story mode show some old challengers...

Enough hype has been around the home version of KOF 13 having 3 more characters than the arcade (95 iori, Billy and Saiki). Images from the new build show us old characters like Heidern, BlueMary and Vanessa. Also the team select screen during Ash's story shows 2 empty team slots. Also the prolouge picture shows a some older characters including Kagura. What could this mean for returning characters? Saiki, Iori and Billy ofcourse wouldn't be on a team, those characters are most likely to be solo , unless Yamazaki and others were brought back. Check out the images below and let us know what you think.

Speculate!

Team Gouki at EVO 2011 has full access. Interviews with your favorite fighting game producers. Have us ask the questions you want answered. Leave a comment and if we ask your question, you could win a free game.

I'm sure you've heard, EVO is more serious than ever this year. Not because it's $80 to enter this, not because tons of Jimmys will be coming from all over the world to Las Vegas for a shot at Daigo. Personally I'm more excited to see the Marvel VS Capcom 3 final, because that's my shit. EVO 2011 is more serious because it panels. Panels. That's right, I'm talking about panels. Skullgirls, Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3, Street Fighter X Tekken, Namco Bandai, Street Fighter 3 Online. That right there makes EVO the official fighting game tournament AND convention for all things fighting games.

Capcom is always full on involved at EVO and we're going to see Seth Killian, Niitsuma-san, and of course Ono-san. Other people we're gonna see is Mike Z from Skullgirls, Super Jimmy Daigo, Derek Neal from Street Fighter III: Third Strike and I'm pretty sure Harada-san will be bumping around as well.

Below is the schedule of the panels we're attending. Also the interviews we have scheduled. If the Goukimunity has any questions for any of these producers or games, leave a comment below. Be creative, I'm not going to ask why Megaman isn't in UMvC3. Fuck, Don't be a Jimmy! Don't you want to know the truth of Poison, whether or not it has or had a pecker. What about some hints to what some of the levels maybe in UMvC3, not much I know, but we might be able to get an answer. Leave you best questions below, to who and for what game. If we ask your question and you see the video on Gouki.com, we're gonna send you a free game.

EVO 2011 HIGHLIGHTS

By: starlordtitus Aug 1, 2011 | 8 Comments

No one does it bigger or badder than EVO and if you missed out the 3 day world event you've been living under a rock!

Evolution 2011 kicked off with Super Street Figther Arcade Edition and moved through Marvel vs Capcom 3, then to Mortal Kombat and Tekken 6 as the main tournaments, with the finals of each on the big stage airing across the globe.

The calamity only rose in abundance when mind blowing matches were won in the most systematically and artistically done methods to an unprecedented defeat of Daigo Umehara himself as Poongko boldly displayed he was not afraid of Daigo before completely dominating him, breaking the very fabric of our expectations.

In the end, the best of the best were crowned:

Perfect Legend became Mortal Kombat's World Champion

Winner: Perfect Legend

2. REO (Mileena)

3. JOP (Raiden/Johnny Cage)

4. Chris G (Reptile)

5. Denzell Terry (Liu Kang)

5. 16-bit (Kitana)

7. OnlineTony213 (Kabal)

7. ATL Redd (Liu Kang)

Viscant became Marvel vs Capcom 3's World Champion

Winner: Viscant (Wesker/Haggar/Phoenix)

2. PR Balrog (Wolverine/Dante/Tron/Amaterasu)

3. Justin Wong (She Hulk/Wolverine/Akuma/Storm/Wesker)

4. Combofiend (She Hulk/Taskmaster/Spencer)

5. Noel Brown (Wolverine/Wesker/Akuma/Phoenix)

5. Filipino Champ (Magneto/Sentinel/Phoenix/Dormammu)

7. X-Ray (Dante/Amaterasu/Magneto)

7. Mine (Wesker/Taskmaster/Phoenix)

And Fuudo became Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edtion's World Champion

 Winner: Fuudo (Fei Long)

 2.Latif (C. Viper)

 3.Poongko (Seth)

 4.Daigo Umeheara (Yun)

 5.Kindevu (Yun)

 6.Tokido

 7.Wolfkrone (C. Viper)

 7.Flash Metroid (Zangief, C. Viper)

And so, another amazing and perhaps the best EVO yet has come to a close. I believe this year's tournament has inspired players in knowing that ANYONE can be Champion. So prep up and I'll see you at next year's EVO!!!

I leave you with this song to train to:

The world's biggest fighting game returns to Las Vegas. July 29th thru the 31st will feature 5 fighting games. Capcom, Skullgirls, Mad Catz and more will be there to represent the fighting game community at the Rio Hotel.

First of all the time is now to register for EVO 2011. Registration Closes July 18, 2011 @ 11:59pm PST. There are no on-site registrations. Evo2k.com Registration Page.

EVO 2011 Preview

This year EVO will feature these fighting games:

  • Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds
  • Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition
  • Mortal Kombat 9
  • Tekken 6
  • BlazBlue: Continuum Shift.

There will also be a Daigo interview with Seth Killian. Mike Z from Skullgirls will be there to demo his new game. Much more cool stuff from Capcom and Mad Catz. I can almost guarantee Street Fighter X Tekken and Street Fighter 3 Online Edition will be playable at EVO 2011.

Something to look forward to I'm sure. Let us know in the comments below if you will be attending? Anybody need a Gouki.com sponsorship? FnJimmy has already been entered as a part of Team Gouki.

We got to talk to this smooth Jimmy about Street Fighter III Online Edition. Derek Neal is the producer and he's pretty hype for SF3oe. So am I, it's my favorite Street Fighter. Don't be a Jimmy!

This interview was on day 3 at EVO 2011. Capcom had already packed up their entire booth (in less than 30 mins, mind you.) They left these cool crates with Capcom spray painted on them. Backdrop heard. Get hype for hype D. Derek Neal.
