Making fighters a bit more "realistic".
Sony's NGP has some badassnice ideas for a fighting game. Using the built-in camera you can take a picture of your face and map it to the character. Another cool trick with the camera is taking a pic of the place where you want to battle. The game also have 12 different fighting styles, a bunch of costumes and around 200 weapon-types.
Ballet style FOR THE WIN! The game apparently has a Tekken feel (not nearly as deep) and will be launched with the NGP. How does this sound to you jimmy's? Looks nifty to mess around with. Leave your thoughts in a comment.
New gameplay video courtesy of Gamespot. Verdict: ???
Uncharted has been perhaps the most popular IP under Sony's exclusive belt, but it's remained on the PS3 with no hint as to rather or not we'd ever see a handheld version - until now. With the new NGP (PSP2) announced and a slew of cool new features (one of which isn't the alleged $300-$350 price point), it comes as no surprise that Sony would finally unwrap what is perhaps their biggest secret so far this generation: Uncharted NGP.
My personal impression after watching the video is that the gameplay looks really nice. There are some features that I can't believe anyone wants (using a rear touch pad to climb up a vine?!), but a lot of it looks to use the new NGP features in a way that will actually make the game cooler. I'm especially digging the accelerameter approach with the scope, which makes me think that the NGP has long-term potential with any number of FPS franchises (Killzone NGP, anyone?).
Although it was somewhat hard to tell, my impression is that the graphics will be fantastic. If you thought the 3DS looked good for a handheld, this is a whole new breed. I'm not sure about claims that the NGP will be able to produce graphics as good as the PS3, but what we're seeing definitely seems to be closer than I would've imagined.

A new PSP by year's end? In Japan at least...
Sony today announced its next generation portable system (NGP) a.k.a. the PSP2. Sony stated in a press release that the system would make its debut at the end of the year, but provided no specifics as to whether that date applied to all markets or just Japan (where this press conference was held).
The new system will have Wi-Fi and 3G built in (no word on carrier), dual analog sticks, front and rear cameras, and a touch screen as well as an accelerometer, gyroscope, and electronic compass. It will use some form of flash media for games, though again, a specific format was not mentioned. (My money is on Memory Stick, this is Sony after all.)

Create your own platformer that creates music.
This seemed a bit lame at first, but really caught my interest. Sound Shapes is a platformer coming to the Sony NGP. You create your own level, but you can pick different instruments and notes for everything you put into the level. The creating process looks fairy simple and the sound is nice. As far as movement goes, your little ball can jump and stick/ un-stick to surfaces. Red things hurt you and bounce pads record the sequence you hit them, and add that beat to the music! Heres the video.
With a simple music tool it does look really fun. Especially when you create a cool beat to a level and as you play more music is added onto it is a fun idea. Guy in the video said it took around 4 years to make, I don't really see that but ok. Anyone looking forward tot he NGP or toy-around games like this?
