The game started off as a decent way to kill some time and turned into me trying everything I could to beat my ghost.

The set up is that two DJ brothers (Bass and Treble) split up and start competing.  Other than the opening the story basically disappears.  Not that you need a story with this.

The game is you racing from start to finish with arrows to guide you as you follow the path up, down, forward and backward.  Throw in some keys for doors that will have you backtracking.  Add in obstacles such as spikes, saw blades, pools of acid, and those big smashing areas and a simple game will start challenging you.  The graphics are nowhere near cutting edge but the background art is a surprising highlight on some of the levels.

You have the choice of playing against your ghost, a spilt-screen, or online multiplayer.  Even my son was able to enjoy the game.  There are 43 levels to run through and you will play them repeatedly.  The game gets more addictive the longer you play.  You can see big changes in your time the first few times you go through but you will try countless times to shave a few seconds or deaths off.  You'll search for boosts that increase your speed or give you the ability to double jump.  You also have a remix option that has Survival Mode and Fast Forward.

Playing on a keyboard is not very comfortable for me even with so few inputs, but once I hooked up my PS3 control I found myself right at home.

And the music is techno, but with the characters being DJs that is not a surprise.  There are 12 songs, but I didn't recognize any of them.  It has been 12 years since I listened to techno so I'm pretty out of the loop.

I would love to see this on my phone or tablet.  But even on the computer, I find myself playing it regularly.  So it is a safe buy as far as I'm concerned.  But I have to pass thanks on to for getting me into the game.
