The most powerful Street Fighter characters made appearances throughout many games. Coming down to the Top 6 was down right close. But behold, the most prestige fighters in all of Street Fighter.
Ryu is perhaps the most famous character in the Street Fighter series. His humble beginnings to his uprising in ability to topple the giant champions of the world made him the fighter we all wished to be. The hero of Street Fighter and overall legend, he is known for usually snatching victory from the jaws of defeat.

With an hour long pre-E3 show, did gamers come out winning?
Yes we did! Konami made a head start in E3 today, or tonight depending on where you live, and the showed off some great news. Here's a review of their show.
They first began with video footage from the show and tease you at what's to come and who's going to talk. The first few minutes, Shiji Hirano, President of Konami Digital Entertainment, America, he gives his thanks for the many prayers and wishes of the events in Japan, from the earthquake and tsunami.
Hirano-san then tells us that Hideo Kojima will be providing lectures on the Video Game Designers of the future in California. Konami will be launching events though out the world! Hirano-san announces Frogger 3DS and more DLC for Castlevania.
Konami then takes us to Tokyo, Japan to see how Metal Gear Solid 3DS is going. It's great! You'll be able to use the 3DS's camera to take pictures from the real world, and use it as in-game camouflage! Also, if you're climbing a tree, for example, you might fall if you tilt the 3DS! So play straight!

This is a piece I designed for the Jimmy Gouki.com mascot.
I am now officially the first to enter my art on redesigning the Jimmy mascot. I may or may not do some revision, if time should allow me to.
But hopefully I will be able to make some more of the Jimmy mascot designs throughout this month. -smiles-
ENJOY EVERYONE! Wish me luck. <3

Lots of news on Duke Nukem Forever's Muliplayer Game Modes and Weapons/Abilities! !
(Above is a leaked photo of a deathmatch in DNF from xbox magazine, reminds me of Toy Story. This may be the result of the Shrinker Gun)
In Duke Nukem Forever you don't play boring Capture the Flag, you play CAPTURE THE BABE! No screenshots of this babe capturing yet, but in this multiplayer game mode you run around carrying ladies. But from being carried, the "babe" apparently freaks out a bit, so you have to give her a slap on the butt to calm...her down? Not much details on it, so feel free to speculate! Maybe if you go too long without these reasurring slaps, she wiggles away or something, I'm interested to see what other twists will come a long in Duke Nuken Forever.
Game Modes- . Dukematch and TeamDukeMatch are both deathmatch oriented games. Hail to the King is King of the Hill type of gameplay. All game modes are 8 players, 4v4. And the "Capture the Babe" stated above.
Weapons- will be pistol, shotgun, ripper chaingun, pipebomb, rpg, shrinker, railgun, freezer, devastator and tripbomb. Also you can only carry two primary weapons at once in addition to having pipebombs and tripbombs. Also JETPACKS SON! only in multiplayer, not single...O_O
Customization - characters can get points by getting kills and achivements, also bonus points for "funny kills" (like pipe-bomb suicide) As expected, every shooter has a lvling system now a days, going to be interesting finding out what unlcocks Duke will have.
Awesome powerups- Steroids let Duke do 1 hit kill punches, run faster but cant use guns, leaves him immune to shrinker. Shrinker turns people into Mini-Duke, only do 10% of dmg. And HoloDuke allows him to be cloaked and do cool melee kills.
Do you like 4v4 game types and the idea of carrying babes? Does "Duke Sauce" sound delicious? Leave a comment below with your ideas and thoughts. I wasn't too interested until now, the MP sounds extremely fun. Don't be a Jimmy.
I get emails from YouTube all day long when people comment on our videos or on our channel. Today I got a real good one, he called me a jackass, then I called him a n00b and oh boy ... a whole notha level.
As you know Gouki.com has been simulating the matches of WWE PPV's with the video game, Smackdown VS Raw 2011. We've been pretty successful with that until I found a Reese's peanut butter cup in Jimmy's brand new Halo Reach Edition Xbox 360 and we had to send it in for repair. Irrelevant.
We simulated the two recent championship matches for 2011 Royal Rumble and posted them on YouTube. Don't fuck with wrestling fans. Here's what happened.
On the Edge VS Dolph Ziggler Royal Rumble.
mapscannotcontainme left this comment:
You jackass! Indicate that its a video game in your title! *First sentence in description
You are a n00b. Actual match is copyrighted. Perhaps you've been rick rolled. Don't be a Jimmy! *This YouTube pro doesn't know about getting Rick Rolled.
First off the first sentence in the description says that this video is a simulated match with Smackdown VS Raw 2011. This Jimmy was so irate and so upset that he couldn't watch the Royal Rumble, that when he say what I posted, he lost his mind.
This morning I received a reply on the video from the same Jimmy:
n00b or not - answer's not btw - I'm familiar with the concept of "false advertising" and I'm considerate enough to do others the favor of making clear what my YouTube videos (under other names) contain. BTW you have a private message and when you're referring to cock when you say "jimmy" it isn't a proper noun and doesn't need capitalization. The more you know... *No uploaded videos from this YouTube pro
Thanks for the English lesson, but when I'm the writer, I can write Jimmy however I please. But it didn't end there, I also received a private message from this Jimmy as well.
You see, you didnt need to reply to my post at all and you especially didn't need to throw baseless insults at me. When I called you a jackass it was meant kiddingly. FYI: jackass isn't the most severe insult one can hurl your way. Moving on, I'm not a noob. I've been using the internet and YouTube for years now. In fact, I'm quite well-versed in YouTube etiquette. Speaking of said etiquette, it's considered thoughftul to indicate when posting a video game clip that it's a video game clip such as by including the title of the video game in the title of your YouTube video.
(Telling me to not to take being called a Jackass -which I am- offensive, but when I called him a n00b, oh boy. I'm sure he was real upset that he had to turn off Two and Half Men reruns on the CW and respond to me.)
Now...as to being a "Jimmy"...you know what I probably am...but I just have to say...who the fuck calls anybody a "Jimmy"? I had to rack my brain to understand what you meant. I wasn't sure if you were talking about South Park or pot or a crowbar or the million and one other things that come to mind when I hear "Jimmy" before it being a synonym for "dick". Christ! I think I've heard it used once in that respect in my life before today.
Now, finally it's common knowledge that the WWE copyrights their videos and YouTube takes down the videos of matches put up soon after the actual PPV. This is obviously done in hopes of WWE getting people to purchase the encores, However, if you'd put down your video game controller for a moment - I'm guessing, given your YouTube page, that you spend a large percentage of your life with a controller in your hand - and scroll about YouTube, you'll find tons of WWE matches put up in their entirety. People post them despite the copyright claims and those videos end up staying up. It isn't unreasonable to think I might have been able to catch the video of a match before it was removed or that YouTube officials missed, either.
(This guy knows and understands that putting up copyright material is against the guidelines of YouTube, but was so mad at me for not uploading the actual match.)
YouTube doesn't always time stamp their posts in the main search results meaning what posters decide to name as their title is one of the main criteria people go by in choosing whether to look at a video. Not indicating in your title that your video is a video game could be construed as a pathetic attempt to gain views. Additionally with the improvements in recent years to video game graphics, small screenshot icons beside each video title are difficult to distinguish from real life match screenshots.
Don't bother responding to this message because you've been blocked from sending me a response. In the future, learn to properly title videos, not take posts so seriously, and learn some more relevant insults. It'd be appreciated.
He blocked me?! Why? What did he think I was going to do? Go crazy myself and write about this Jimmy on my website. Don't worry about me taking posts seriously.
Copyrighted videos are copyrighted for a reason and YouTube will ban you for posting content you don't own. I have over 200 videos on YouTube, I'm not gonna risk that to post actual WWE matches, when you can watch them for free on the WWE's YouTube channel. PPV's though, you have to Pay Per View.
This guy don't know what a Jimmy is? Well he knows now. HE IS A JIMMY!
So to all my Goukiites out there, drop by Nubfarm's YouTube channel and just let him know he IS a Jimmy and for a special bonus, link him to this story. He blocked me remember. Who knows maybe we'll make a new friend out of this. BTW, I added [SvR 2011] to the YouTube titles just for him and can only hope he is gracious enough to accept my actions for what they are. A semi apology for getting his hopes up about watching some illegal WWE PPV matches on YouTube.
The Satsui No Hado has taken full form. Ryu's life was spared in the battle with Akuma and as a result, has fully engulfed Ryu with it's dark influence. Now all thirsts for is blood and a fight to the death worthy of his new found power.
Reader's Note: The following story can be played with Evil Ryu's Theme video and Gouken vs Ryu Theme video when prompted to.
After the battle with Oni, Gouken has taken some peace in the immediate area and has decided to go into the closest town to observe fighters of today's generation. As we he walks through, he notices the town is mostly empty at first glance. He see's posters plastered everywhere of a wanted man. Upon closer inspection, Gouken is surprised to see Ryu on the posters! Taken over by the dark hado, Gouken decides to stop Ryu from ravaging the town and re-seal the Satsui No Hado. He hears some yelling and screaming in the distance as he approaches the middle of the town. Behind him, he hears a voice, "Master?? Hey! Wait up!" (Gouken) "Ken? What brings you to this town?". Ken catches his breath and explains. (Ken) "Master, it's Ryu! He's in trouble! He fought against Akuma and was struck with the Shun Goku Satsu[Raging Demon]! The finishing blow nearly killed Ryu but in that moment the Satsui No Hado was released and Ryu embraced it's power!" (Gouken) "Hmm...I see." Gouken took a few seconds for thought. Akuma had already given him too much trouble as it was for him to have turned Ryu into a killer, it must have been before his battle with the villian Gouken thought, for Ken seemed to possess no knowledge that Akuma had become Oni. For now however, Gouken needed to focus on bringing Ryu's humanity back. (Gouken) "Ken, listen closely, go to Ryu and tell him a powerful warrior awaits him for a fight to the death." (Ken) "Master?". (Gouken) "He will not be able to resist....now GO!" (Ken) I'm on it!!" Ken takes off to find Ryu, a look of determination is left on Gouken's face. What if he had killed Akuma all those years ago, would he have thwarted all this chaos.....but now was not the time, Gouken took off for the forest.
[Activate Evil Ryu's Theme]
Ken finds Ryu with a civilian being choked and risen off the ground. (Ken) "PUT HIM DOWN RYU!!" The dark warrior slowly looks upon Ken, a devious smile on his face. (Ken) "You a real fight?? There's a more powerful warrior than you waiting in the forest for a fight to the death!!" Evil Ryu looks upon Ken, he's caught his attention. He drops the man, discarding him like common trash. (Evil Ryu) "More powerful you say......heh heh heh ah ha ha ha! I HIGHLY DOUBT THAT! I will kill him as well as you!!!" Evil Ryu fires a dark Hadouken at Ken, but Ken dodges out of the way. Ken takes off through the town, Evil Ryu following closely behind. As Ken is running through the town, destruction is left behind in Evil Ryu's wake as he fires dark fireballs towards Ken. The chase brings them to the entrance edge of the forest. Ken quickly hides in the tress. (Evil Ryu) "WHERE ARE YOU!!?". Ken waits for his master in anticipation. Gouken prepares to step forward. A voice speaks to Evil Ryu, "You disappoint me Ryu." The dark warrior looks towards the shadowy trees, a tall fighter steps from the shadows. (Sagat) "I expected more integrity from you". To Gouken's and Ken's surprise, Sagat has surfaced and is apparently challenging Evil Ryu!!!
(Evil Ryu) "HA HA HA! THIS IS THE POWERFUL WARRIOR!? Tell me Sagat....does it still hurt? DOES THE SCAR I GAVE YOU STILL THRIVE WITH AGONY??". (Sagat) "My scar only reminds me of how far I've come as a warrior. I would think of all people.....you would be the one to understand a fighter's spirit is greater than any pain a punch can inflict. You've given in to the Satsui No Hado, your integrity is lost, your fists will have no honor......BUT I, RYU, WILL HELP YOU TO RECOVER THAT HONOR!" (Evil Ryu) "I CRAVE TO YOU SEE YOU TRY!!". Sagat runs forward to Evil Ryu and attacks with a Tiger Knee! Evil Ryu blocks it and counters with a Hurricane Kick! Sagat blocks the barrages of kicks then grabs the dark warrior to throw him but Evil Ryu counters by headbutting Sagat in the face! Sagat staggers but quickly regains composure! Evil Ryu dashes in and attacks with a right and left hook, Sagat blocks left to right then counters with a thrusting kick to Evil Ryu's chest! Evil Ryu blocks with both arms and the two warriors disband.
(Sagat) "Your fighting prowess has increased, Ryu. But you communicate with anger and hatred. Such lust for power will only be your ultimate downfall." (Evil Ryu) "I COULD NOT EXPECT A WEAKLING LIKE YOU TO UNDERSTAND OR BEGIN TO EVEN COMPREHEND THE POWER I NOW WEILD!.....BUT I WILL KILL YOU AND SHOW YOU FIRST HAND WHAT I CAN DO!" Evil Ryu begins to rush in. Sagat stays focused. He stands and closes his eye. Sagat thinks to himself "Ryu, were it not for you, I would have found myself an immature and selfish fighter, fueled by only the will to win. Now, I see the greatness of becoming a a true fighter, one not only with the goal to surpass his limitations, but with the goal to find an inner peace and joy through the art of communicating with one's fist. Ryu.....I WILL BRING YOU BACK FOR WHAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR ME!" Sagat opens his eye right as Evil Ryu descends upon him and Sagat then unleashes his Tiget Cannon! A powerfully focused energy blast!! He fires it point blank on Evil Ryu and a huge explosion erupts from the impact! Clouds of dust and debree cover the area, Sagat seperates himslef from the area and observes the cloud of smoke. Gouken and Ken watch from a distance. An serious look on both of their faces. Ken's eyes show concern for his friend Ryu. The clouds of smoke and debree begin to disappear and a shadowy figure is positioned at it's center. Immense energy begins to be drawn into it's center, dark energy accumilating into sphere begins to glow brightly. Evil Ryu has survived and is ready to counter with his Metsu Hadouken!!! (Sagat) "Damn, not even a scratch..." (Evil Ryu) "AH HA HA HA HA! YOU ARE NOTHING! NOW, HAAA DIEEEE!!!" The powerful energy sphere speeds over to Sagat , Sagat stands as if to face his fate, closes his eye.
[Activate Gouken vs Ryu Theme]
Out from the distance and blinding speed, Gouken appears before Sagat! (Gouken) "Not today!" Gouken uses the Power Of Nothingness to manipulate and transfer it's power to his own, a technique he discoverd in the fight with Oni. (Evil Ryu) "What?" (Gouken) "Ryu."...(Evil Ryu) "Old man....errrr.....ugh.....YOU WILL NOT STAND IN MY WAY!" (Gouken) Ryu, it is not too late to turn your back on this madness. I know you are still in there and I will help you see it." (Evil Ryu) "NO! This hadou......IT GRANTS ME POWER, INCREDIBLE POWER! AND I WILL KILL ANY AND ALL WHO STAND IN MY WAY!!!" Gouken's face displays intent determination to silence the dark hado from his former student. (Gouken) "Sagat, allow me to fight in your stead, I must teach my student one final lesson" Sagat looks at Gouken with a sudden stare of awe....(Sagat) ".....I understand". Gouken knods as Sagat joins Ken on the battlefield's side. (Evil Ryu) " I AM TIRED OF WAITING!" Evil Ryu fires a dark hadouken at Gouken, but Gouken uses his Dashing Palm to bypass and dodge the fireball, striking Evil Ryu in his stomach with great speed! (Evil Ryu) "Ugh! OLD MAN YOU WILL NOT LEAVE THIS FIGHT ALIVE!" Evil Ryu rushes in and begins barrage Gouken with punches and kicks. Gouken blocks and dodges the blows hit per hit. Evil Ryu fakes a right kick and 360's into a lunging right punch! Gouken blocks the blow but the fist spirals throught his arms barely touching his chest! The light touch feels like a bee sting to Gouken. Evil Ryu has developed a fighting style that incorporates a burining sensation upon each hit to maximize pain inflicted on his opponents! Gouken looks at Evil Ryu. A malicious grin on his face. (Evil Ryu) "WHAT'S THE MATTER OLD MAN!!?" Evil Ryu lunges forward again with his left fist but Gouken catches his wrist and directs Evil Ryu's body to his Gouken's left elbow, landing a blow to Evil Ryu's side! (Evil Ryu) "RRRRGGHH I WILL KILL YOU!" Evil Ryu's red aura blazes and the Satsui No Hado begins pouring out of the hole in his chest! Gouken see's the source of it's power and sees the opening to end the fight!
Evil Ryu rushes towards Gouken at blinding speed and Gouken readies himself. Evil Ryu undleashes his Messatsu Goshoryu!!! But Gouken applies an EX Kongoshin, a counter to disable and attack Evil Ryu, stopping his attack full force! Evil Ryu is knocked away spinning in the air. Gouken, with inhuman speed, rushes in to the spinning Evil Ryu. While in Evil Ryu is spinning in mid air, Gouken quickly uses The Power Of Nothingness to seal in the Satsui No Hado, applying multiple key points to act as seals. The act displays almost a dance in magnificence. In the next moment, Evil Ryu crashes to the ground. The red aura disappears. Ken and Sagat walk over to Gouken. (Ken) "Is he...going to be okay?" (Gouken) "Attend to him, he will be fine" Ken rushes over to Ryu, his appearance now back to normal. A scar on his chest of the former gaping whole is visible. Gouken begins to take leave. (Sagat) "Gouken!". Gouken stops but doesn't turn around. (Sagat) "Thank You." Gouken then begins to move forward disappears into distance, a setting sun obscuring his figure. Sagat turns to Ken. (Sagat) "Ken, I will take my leave, but Ryu wakes up, tell him I wish to challenge him when he's at full stregnth." Ken pauses, and then smiles. (Ken) "You got it!" Sagat then leaves. Ryu's eyes begin to open. (Ken) "Ryu!" (Ryu) "What happened..." (Ken) "Ryu.....hahaha! You've been given a second chance man, you've been given a second chance..."

Have you ever wanted to go to a happier place full of peaceful creatures and beautiful scenery? Then Peggle is for you! Peggle is mini game for family and friends to play (It seems like a mixture of Pinball and Plinko from the Price is Right)
Story: I can't really say there is a storyline to this, but it does introduce the characters you unlock. You have to read it though =(
Controls: The controls are very easy to understand, the anolog stick is to move and "A" or "X" is to shoot off your silver ball of death.
Gameplay: Peggle is very simple, Just rack up as much points as you can. There are three different gameplay modes; theres Adventure, Master Duel, and Challenge. In Adventure mode, you get 10 chances to hit all the Red Orbs. Easy Right! WRONG! There will be many Blue Orbs blocking you from hitting them, and it gets really annoying. There is also Purple Orbs and Green Orbs, The Purple Orbs pops up once in every round in a stage and if you hit it, it gives you 2x as much points you would normally get in that round (Helpful in Multiplayer and Challenge mode). The Green Orb pops up 2 times in one stage and if you hit it, it gives you a special powerup (Each character has their own powerup). In Master Duel, its pretty much the same as Multiplayer except you are versing a CPU, 1 on 1 to get the highest score. In Challenge Mode, you have to hit all the Red Orbs and get as much points as possible to reach the score limit. That's where the Purble Orbs come in. This mode can get you to play this for hours, some are very hard and most are easy.
Multiplayer: There is not that many people who play Peggle these days other than Peggle fans or people who just bought the game. Multiplayer includes 2 different gameplay modes, Party Peg and Duel. In Party Peg, you will be versing at least 3 other people to get the most points in the end of the game with 10 tries (Easy to understand). In Duel, it is exactly like Master Duel except you are versing 1 on 1 with an actual person for the highest score.
- Pros: Great to play with friends who have the game.
- Pros: Great for people who are competitive.
- Cons: It gets frustrating after a while.
- Cons: It's only fun for a limited time.
Final Judgement: Peggle is a fantastic game for family and friends to play together. Many people enjoy playing it. it has also been one of the top most downloaded games on XBL for years. On Xbox 360 its 800 Microsoft points and on PS3 its $10.
From 1 to 10
I give peggle a 8.0

A new letter from the producer details FFXIV's upcoming glamour system and lets slip the release date of the new 2.2 patch.
Set your calendar for March 27. Well, probably the day after since it will likely be an all-day maintenance roll-out. That's the date we can expect the new 2.2 patch entitled "Through the Maelstrom" for Final Fantasy XIV to drop.
The glamour system will allow you to take any piece of gear and have it look like any equal or lower level piece of gear for that same slot that you have. Take a look...
Here she is going to make the Allagan caster robe look like the Crimson robe attained in CT. She's using some sort of catalyst called a "Glamour Prism".
If you're just picking this game up, join us on Malboro server and hit us up in the comments to join our FC. Don't forget to check out our starter guide.

Grab a bunch of tales characters from different games and roll them all up in a ball and you got yourself a fun psp RPG.
Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology uses many characters from previous "Tales" games (including Tales of Legendia and Tales of the Abyss for the PS2, and Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube and many more) and places them in an all-new story featuring a new hero, you! Does this all star cast of heroes make sense in this new world despite their different backgrounds, and can this game appeal to PSP users who have never played a Tales game before?
The game sports some of the best overall graphics that I have seen on the PSP. Granted, the cell-shaded and surprisingly non-blocky characters can't hold a candle to the model detail of games such as Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, but textures aren't everything as this game has proven to me. I have never come across any graphical glitches or collisions while playing, and the game constantly runs silkily smooth. Another little perk the game gives you is the ability to see your character's clothing change as he or she alters his/her armor (which can put you in a dilemma: Do you risk being as ugly as hell with the best defense, or lose a few points defensively to make your character look stylish?)
However the main thing that propels this game's graphical engine to being one of my favorites is the loading times for the graphics... or rather, the surprising lack of them. The maximum loading time I experienced was about ten to fifteen seconds, and that was only when loading a save after starting up the game. Everything else loads up amazingly fast even when your character alters his or her clothing and the skits pop up almost immediately. The only bad point is that the game uses the default PSP text format, but that's a very minuscule issue that I am pointing out for the review's sake.
The music and sound effects are decent and do their job, but aren't special by any means. When you get hit it gives you the same sound whether you were hit by a sword or bitten by an animal, and the attacking sound-effects for physical strikes have a similar lack of variation. There is a bit more variation in sounds for the magic though.
The music that plays in towns, guilds and battle are decent but most are so middle-tier that there's a good chance that you won't find yourself humming any of the songs anytime soon (except probably for the catchy song used for the animated opening). You also get to hear the battle songs for some of the characters from other "Tales" games during certain missions, but not only this a relatively infrequent occurrence but the quality of the battle songs were reduced as well. Still the battle themes you loved from previous tales games will still sound nice.
The story for this game is rather shallow. Your avatar is a person born from the mana tree (the source of all life on the planet) of ToW's world, Terresia, and with the help of a flying talking cat named Mormo have to find a way to stop the planet-eating being known as the devourer. Along the way you meet up with characters from previous tales games as well as a few new characters (including three characters not featured in any "Tales" game released in the US), but for the most part the quality of the story itself is mediocre and somewhat predictable at times.
However, this shallow story is offset by the interactions between the different characters you meet. Depending on the circumstances, you will often come across some of the characters talking to each other about a variety of subjects, and through them you'll find out about the backgrounds of the characters. People who have played previous "Tales" games will spot a lot of references to events that occurred in the earlier games, but the chats are designed in such a way that it does not make a player new to the franchise feel confused and unable to understand what the characters are talking about.
In terms of the action, this game focuses on dungeon crawling. You take quests from a certain guild you join early in the game both to continue the main story and to unlock extra features, characters and classes and then go to the designated place to fulfill the quest. These quests can range from killing a certain number of a particular enemy to saving someone lost in the dungeon to other similar things. While this system can get boring very quickly, there are two things that help keep the game refreshing.
The first is the battle engine that is used whenever you touch an enemy. The game uses an interesting meld of 2-D and 3-D plane fighting. You can use the analog stick to move around in a 3-D area and you can use the digital pad to control your character linearly and allow him/her to jump. The characters you use in the fight have their own batches of skills, but your own avatar - who you ALWAYS have to use (but not necessarily control) in battle - actually needs to master (which in this case means use fifty times each) his or her gained skills in order to unlock the more advanced and more damaging skills. Also, if used properly, your skills can be chained together to make long damaging combos and, if timed right, can link up with the attacks of other people to combo for even more hits and damage.
The second is the variety of classes and customization options that can help you improve your character and his/her items. By doing the massive number of sidequests, you will slowly unlock more and more extra options to use to help improve your character. Some of these unlockables are new classes that provide fresh, different ways to go into battle once you use them. Others are "recipes" that allow you to do a variety of things, from cooking items that heal your entire party to forging metals that can improve your armor statistics. To top it off, all these recipes need raw materials, so you'll find yourself spending a lot of time collecting the materials necessary to build them (and while doing so you'll inadvertently strengthen yourself in the process through fighting enemies). These options truly increase the replayability and length of the game by a good amount playing the story through without any of the quests can take as little as 20 hours, but can take up to 50 or 60 with the sidequests.
One other thing that is necessary to mention is the party recruitment system. This single area has some of the most interesting ideas but also some of the worst (but relatively minor) flaws in the game. On the good side, the recruitment system has a unique aspect there is no guarantee that people you want in your party will agree to come with you for the quest you need to complete. While this may prove to be at times, this adds a realistic aspect to the party system, it feels as if the characters now have their own lives to handle and can't just drop everything just on your whim. Not only that, but the game includes its own set of default custom characters that grow in level and keep up with you, as well as upgrade their own armor. These characters also come-and-go, but whoever is available in the recruitment menu will not refuse to come with you on a quest, allowing you to fill any necessary gaps should too many story characters refuse to join you.
As mentioned earlier though, this system is also home to some of the most annoying, if minor, flaws the game has. First, after every single quest (some take as little as three or four minutes to complete) your party disbands, forcing you to re-recruit people when you start a new quest, it would have at least been nice if they gave you the option of NOT disbanding your group when a quest is over, and only forcing people out if they can not participate in a certain quest for whatever reason. Second, each of the three towns has different story characters to recruit, but you can not recruit characters from earlier towns in the new one. Story-wise, this makes sense. However, this is a hassle gameplay-wise since you essentially go into one town, go into its bar, recruit one or two people, leave the town, go to the next town and recruit the other people you want from there. Considering that the story mentions that there is contact between the different towns, it wouldn't have been unrealistic if the player could "summon" the characters all from the place that the player is at now. Also, unlike the custom characters, the story characters do not level with you. In some cases (like when you reset your class to a new one) this can be a good thing since you have a high level teammate to use since all the custom mercenaries level down to your level as well. However, due to the number of quests and the fact that the story characters can and will refuse to do certain quests with you, there will be times where you will be forced to sit and watch as several characters you want to use are slowly left in the dust level-wise because they don't want to work with you.
Final Verdict: BUY IT!!
Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology is a fun dungeon crawler whose short loading times and fluid gameplay make it a great portable game to have with you. Furthermore, despite the shallow story the character interactions make the game fun outside of battle for both "Tales" veterans and new players alike. I highly suggest it for anyone looking for a fresh psp rpg and for tales veterans; Ironically, despite most of the playable characters being people from older "Tales" games, this is one of the best games to immerse new people in as they essentially get a taste of multiple Tales games at once.
Any tales fans out there? RPG fans? PSP owners? Let us know what you think and don't be a jimmy.
