A bunch of new Fight Sticks will be available at EVO, some with very few limited amounts. Also Mad Catz now has an iPhone case. Hold your applause. Exclusive shirts too.
EVO 2012 competitor shirt. I'm pretty sure you will only get this if you are playing in the tournament.
Self explanatory iPhone case. Don't be a Jimmy!
Virtua Fighter 5 PROMO only fight stick. Looks like the winner of this side tournament is going to get this stick. There might also be a chance to win one. Somehow.
Persona 4 Arena PROMO only fight stick. So probably the same thing, win a side tournament or win a raffle. Not sure what the promo only thing means to these Jimmys.
And finally the EVO fight stick for 2012. Full on exclusive only 300 available. If you want one of these you better be at EVO day 1 in line at the Mad Catz booth to pick one up. These are gonna go fast.
Sorry about the black bars Jimmys, the Mad Catz doesn't have any sort of professional press site and I got all these images and info from the Mark Man twitter. Vote, Comment and Share. Don't be a Jimmy!
GoukiJones and BatRastered got to play DiveKick at EVO 2012. Read on for some hands-on goodness.
DiveKick started out as a great idea... Check out this preview video if you haven't seen it already:
That was an awesome spoof of the community, the games, the controllers... everything. 2 buttons, 2 characters. I thought it was awesome. It also looked complete (or at least very nearly). They could've sold this as an iPhone/iPad game no problem.
Since then, they've added a few new characters. There's a "wolverine" (not to be confused with the Marvel character) and a "Mr. N" spoof of Marn.
Now they're doing a kickstarter and even more characters will be added... each with slightly different jumps and kicks I guess. Yawn... This was so funny 2 months ago, but the joke is over now and I don't really care to have a serious DiveKick game at home. I don't see it selling very much at this point (let alone late Fall when it actually gets released).
Anyway, I had a chance to play it at EVO... here's me playing against a wolverine :
Is this the first double KO caught on tape? It didn't count as a round at all! Later on in the match I figured out that pressing kick first makes you jump backwards. My overall feeling though was that this would make a great party game and not much more. It has some insider jokes for the FGC, but like I said before, it's a bit stale now. If they take the game too seriously, they'll just end up competing with the SSF4AE and UMvC3's of the world and let's be real, I'm gonna play the full-on games at that point. I can't say I'm too hyped for this at this point... if it was already out with the two OG characters, Dive and Kick, and cost a few bucks I would've probably already bought it, played it, and forgotten about it. (Just like SFxT! Hey-o!)
Bonus video: Here's GoukiJones as "Dive" winning a match against wolverine.
Unfortunately I didn't get to play myself, but I did get a little bit on tape for all the Gouki.com Bronies.

Record attendance and huge cash prizes (over $100,000 in total payouts) set the stage for the biggest and baddest Fighting Game Community championships ever at Evo 2012.
Evo 2012 will be held July 6 – 8 at the Las Vegas Caesars Palace Hotel and Casino. The event is open to the public on July 6th and 7th. The whole thing will be broadcast on twitch.tv so if you can't make it, be sure to tune in.
With companies like Capcom and Warner Bros. chipping in huge bonuses to the prize pool, we will see some amazing prizes this year, over $100,000 total!
Here are the prize pools for the Evo 2012 tournaments. All tournaments pay out to the top 8 finishers.
- $25,000 Super Street Fighter IV, Arcade Edition 2012
- $23,000 Mortal Kombat 9
- $15,000 Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
- $15,000 for Sega’s Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown event (BYOC event)
- $11,000 King of Fighters XIII
- $9,000 Street Fighter X Tekken
- $5,000 Soul Calibur V
That's some big money, but you'll have to beat some stiff competition from over 40 countries to win it. By my count of the brackets there are over 1500 entrants in the SSFIVAE tournament alone (and over 1200 in the UMvC3)!
Gouki.com will be in attendance so be on the lookout for us if you are there!

Just got an appointment to see Capcom at EVO, yes an appointment Jimmy. We've got all the info on what exactly is happening with Capcom at EVO.
There is one panel. SFxT might be there, but I'm not sure it's going to be playable on the floor. I don't think Capcom is going to look anything like it did last year. They gots nothing right now.
EVO Panel: “Capcom: The Year Ahead”
Friday, July 6 from 2-3pm
Producers Tomoaki Ayano, Ryoto Niitsuma, and Derek Neal will be on hand to discuss what the future holds for Capcom’s fighting game franchises. New details will be revealed for the console version of Street Fighter X Tekken, as well as the new PlayStation Vita game releasing this fall. There will also be discussion about the upcoming Street Fighter 25th Anniversary tournament series… and a few other surprises!
I'm not sure if this has been announced anywhere else yet. I haven't seen this info. We had to reserve seats for this. Tomoaki is the SFxT Jimmy, so we won't have anything for him. Sorry Arthvader. Derek Neal is for Street Fighter III, I don't really know what he's going to bring. DLC talk maybe. Niitsuma is the man in charge of Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3. I'm pretty sure there will be some talk about when a where a patch or update is finally going to happen. Especially since this whole infinite TAC debacle.
If you have any questions you would like us to ask any of these Jimmys post them in the comment below and I will ask them during the panel. As long as they are not Jimmyfied.

More than just 1 interesting game will be shown off in the EVO 2012 indie games showcase. Aztec, Super Comboman, Nidhogg, DiveKick and more. You Jimmys know I really want to play the DiveKick
DiveKick at EVO 2012!!! This game was first unveiled at UFGT8 earlier this year and I can't believe nobody has published this game on the iPhone. Looking for an exclusive with Keits, shout out to my boy Keits, WHAT UP JIMMY?! :)
DIVEKICK distils the essence of the fighting genre into its most simple form, using parody and humor to make players comfortable in a fast-paced, rage-inducing game.
