GoukiJones reviews Hydrophobia. Actually this is just a video of me breaking the game during the demo. Based on that, I would not recommend this game.
A new gameplay video emerges from Gamescom, Mass Effect 3 will definitely bring the action.
I really hope that Bioware brings the RPG element as well as they do the shooting this time around. The first Mass Effect still does something for me that ME2 didn't. Here's some more squad based action.

Finally the street date for the US & UK release for Star Wars The Old Republic. Could it be perfect timing considering all the great releases these next couple of months?
Finally after what seems like SWTOR has been in development longer than Duke Nukem Forever, we have a solid release date.
It's official. Now I already pre-ordered because I'm not a Jimmy. Allegedly, I will get earlier access then the rest of you nuabs. So this is a perfect release date, I think. It's long after after all of the major release come out and right at the start of the Winter dead zone. From about the 20th of December until everyone goes back to work and school that first week in January, nothing happens in the world of video games.
Expect to see me on The Old Republic. Leave a comment on this story, if you want to party up. We can rule the galaxy, Gouki Guild style.
You can PRE-ORDER from amazon, get early access and get some colored stone or something for your lightsaber. lol. Irrelevant!

GoukiJones & FnJimmy talk about Ubisoft & some random Jimmy walks thru the shot. E3 2013. Some fuckin' nuab walking thru the shot.
Shout out to Ubisoft, thank you for allowing us to raid your booth & check out all of the games. Well we didn't see Watch Dogs, but I don't need to waste time at E3 on a game that is coming out in the next couple of months. We saw it during the press conference & it pretty much looked the same last year & was still on schedule. That demo was going to be basically more of the same.
We saw the Stick of Truth, now everybody remember this was a THQ game last year & was actually supposed to be released in March. Well THQ crashed & Ubisoft got the rights to this game. So I was interested to see how/if any of the game was changed. The last time I saw it was at SDCC. Now you can fight on the outside of instanced fights. Oh man, what am I trying to say. Say you're walking around in the over world, well in South Park you have the option to use a sling shot or whatever they had & take out 1 of the baddies, then run up to the guy next to him, touch him & then go into battle. I don't really know how well that is going to work in the game overall, but it seemed pretty smooth during the demo. BTW this game looks just like the show, it's amazing. Super hype!
AC17, skipped it. Don't care.
The car racing game where you're taking down money trucks. Looks cool. But it's cars, it's bullshit.
We saw the Guitar game. People will never play anything like Guitar Hero again, when you can play with a real guitar & actually learn a skill. It's expensive yeah, but just do what BatRastered says, go to the Pawn Shop & get some Jimmy ass guitar for like $40 bucks & start playing.
The Division was the only really unique thing we saw. Unfortunately it was the same exact demo as the press conference. Maybe there was a little more explained to us, but basically the same shit. This game looks dope, we of course had tons of questions about how the open world & VS stuff works, but they weren't talking about any of that right now. Classic E3. Got some cool swag tho.
Axton has quickly moved up my list of favorite characters in BL2, his turret action skill is quite good on its own, but with the right skills and weapons you can do the work of two players by yourself.
First the Survival Tree, I'm not a big fan of this.
You can see the relative offensive weakness of this build at about 4:45 in the video I throw a turret on each side of a basic loader, and I still have to kill it myself. I don't recommend the turret without the rocket pods. :) If you had 3 more points you could get the Scorched Earth rocket pods too. So with the 11 levels coming April 2, that's what I'd suggest first. If I did this over, I'd probably go with the rockets over the longbow just for the damage boost, but mag-lock without longbow is not very useful and Battlefront (extra damage when the turret is out for all your guns and grenades) is just so damn useful that I can't really recommend either version of this build unless you get the level cap DLC and get all 3 this build falls apart.
Now the Guerilla tree, the fun starts to pick up.
This is a good damage build with decent survivability. It allows the turret to slag, which is useful and will be even better in the upcoming third play through. The turret also has rocket pods and a shield. As far as Axton himself, he gets to carry 5 extra grenades and his shield will be recharging quickly most of the time. This is a good build that will only get better with the 11 new levels, allowing you to either add longbow and battlefront or get the twin Gemini turrets. Very versatile.
Finally we get to Gunpowder. NUKE!
This build is a great all around build as well, you still get the rocket pods from Guerilla and a good amount of defense, but you get a ton of DPS both from your nuke turret (basically an awesome, rechargeable grenade) and the use of the Battlefront skill. You'll note the Kerblaster assault rifle in the video shoots a projectile that explodes, drops a grenade and explodes again. This works with all the grenade damage boost skills too so this is my current favorite high DPS build. With 11 more skill points you can reach the slag turret too (double up, at the bottom of Guerilla tree) which will make this build very useful for the third play through. Also, nuking things is fun. :)
We played a couple hours of Borderlands 2 on PC while waiting for our Loot Chest editions to show up. We checked it out with PhysX turned on to see the difference. How does it compare to the console experience? Exclusive video.
We first saw the PhysX demo that NVIDIA released on youtube about a month ago. I have to say, we were blown away with that video, but needed to see it for ourselves.
When building GoukiJones' rendering machine last year, we included a GeForce GTX 560ti (then $249). The good news is that card is still up to date enough to play Borderlands 2 on high detail with PhysX enabled (on GoukiJones' 16x10 monitor). The better news is you can now get a GTX 660 for about $230 that will outperform the 560ti while using less power.
We were given a steam code by NVIDIA for a copy of Borderlands 2 so we could test the PhysX engine vs the console versions we usually play here at the Gouki.com offices. Thanks guys!
Seeing the extra elemental sparks fly looks really cool and the bodies fall to the ground realistically while bits and pieces of their armor pop off and wheel away in all directions. Though what really changes are the various cloth awnings, tarps, banners, and flags that inhabit the world of Pandora. Instead of being solid objects that don't move at all, they now come to life, blowing in the wind, reacting to your movements and gunshots, and generally behaving like you'd expect in the real world. It's not vital to game play, but it certainly makes the environment feel more alive.
Many other, smaller things stood out to me as well... from the snow melting on the screen to the goop (for lack of a better word) that sticks around after the exploding barrels are dealt with to the blood that pours from your own body after your shield is gone and you take a hit, PhysX makes for a more believable experience. I love how the little bits and pieces stick around in the environment during the gunfight. It littered the ground after one boss battle.
I used a Razer Onza tournament edition to control the game, it worked really well and just as I expected coming from the Xbox. This made the transition pretty smooth and I felt right at home on Pandora. One of the big differences from the consoles is just the huge amount of customizations you can do to the video settings, changing the FOV and customizing the level of detail and hud and just about anything else you could want.
This test proved one thing to me at least, the consoles are really overdue for a refresh. At this rate, last year's GPUs are doing some amazing things that I would consider "next-gen" if I saw it on my TV... and with Valve's announcement of "Big Picture" mode for Steam, and the rapid decline in prices of last year's GPU tech, putting together a gaming PC for the living room for less than the launch price of typical console ($350-450) seems within reach. Hopefully more and more games support the controller out of the box too, as I'm horrible with a keyboard/mouse when it comes to gaming.
So the wait is over, the PS3 now has the new pack
The Xbox 360 had it first but now we do too. For 14.99 you get 4 new multi-player maps and a zombie map. Some jimmy's are super hyped about this and I'm enjoying some new levels, but I think the price was high for no more than we got.
The new Zombie Board for Ascension is fun, but anytime you can put a bullet in a Zombies dome is fun.
Stadium is just what it sounds like, and it gets a bit crazy with losts of spots for the campers to hide.
Kowloon is a fairly small map (the one you try to help the doctor escape on in main story) it is pretty decent. Oh yeah and a Zipline.
Discovery is a pretty big level with options for all play styles and I think this is the one with the bridge you can blow up but I haven't seen it yet.
Berlin Wall has turrets that are waiting for you and they are vicous, they even have the no mans land marked in red on you map. This may be my favorite map in the pack.
The new maps aren't game changers so if you didn't like it before you won't like it now. You can find me on PSN at dragonkiss83 if you want, but I'm not great.
My biggest problem right now is that after playing Borderlands I keep throwing grenades when it try to scope in or shoot.
Overall I'ld say I could live without the maps so I'ld say flush it until it goes on sale unless you are a hardcore Black Ops Jimmy.
A list of what's to come this week on xbox live.
Once again, we enter a new week of deals. As of the recent Fall 2013 system update, Microsoft Points as no more, so all the pricing will be listed as US currency. Now, let's see what's available this week:Read full story...
Madden's back. Is it just more of the same or did the big boys come out to play this year?
Football season has officially begun! So that only means Cheerleaders, booze, bbqs, tailgates, and of course the next installment in the latest Madden 10 by EA Sports.
I know a lot of people say the same thing every year about EA and the Madden franchise, that its the same game with a new coat of paint or roster shuffles or what ever the case. I'm here to tell you why Madden 10 is the best EA has offered in years and possibly the best football sim ever (yes NFL 2k5 included).
The theme for this year is fight for every yard and rightfully so as all die hard fans know its a game of inches just ask the 1999 Titans loosing by just a yard. Of course a lot of the new additions are the usual new roster better graphics and animations as they should be every year. Its always great to play a match and see a new tackle or new catch animation that you've never seen. But back to the theme, with this theme they introduced the new Pro-Tak feature which simply is a "gang tackle" that up to 9 other AI offensive or defensive can join in on and either push the pile forward or back. But this new feature is great when going up against those tough to tackle Power-backs such as Brandon Jacobs and of course Adrian Peterson just to name a couple. This can be can extremely crucial if used right which can either stop the ball carrier in their tracks instead of letting them scamper for a TD. Don't think that this will make the "D" over powerd against the "O" some backs like the two mentioned previously or elite players can every once in a while break free of a two or maybe even 3 player gang-tackle and can lead to Huge plays!
Now to the gameplay where I think Madden has done a great job in making it feel more true to life than previous years is the gamespeed and feel of how players run and break in and out of their cuts. The game has been slowed down from previous versions and I think its one of the best things they could've done. The game now feels as if you were actually watching a game on a Sunday afternoon. I think the best thing that can be said is it play's more like a sim and less like a "arcadey" football game.
Now to the online portion of Madden. This year they've finally decided to go all out with the online franchise with up to 32 teams playing a season head to head for a chance to get to the Super Bowl. The differnce from this years and last years Madden online franchise is you know have a more robust options menu its as if you were playing a single player franchise will all the options trades, free agents, highlights, full stats you name it its there its the complete online franchise.
With that said I think this is the best Madden ever and the best Football sim ever as well. The game has been out for almost 2 months, if you love football and don't have this go get it it's awesome!

CAPCOM moved this in to what?! (First impression)
Capcom, you sexy, lying, penny pinching, re-releasing games and putting out you. You sure out did yourself on this one! Monster Hunter Tri for the Nintendo Wii is a great addition to the series and it delivers!
While the story isn’t in par with those of Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, Megaman, and Dead Rising, but it’s all about questing. You start the game as a traveler from a far land that arrivals when an earthquake strikes and it’s up the “the lone hero” to investigate and make the villagers happy at the same time. While the story might not catch your attention, the quest style with friends will!
The premise of the game is to hunt monster, use their parts, to hunt bigger and badder beast! It’s a vicious cycle since each piece of amour and weapon increase quality, slots and attributes. The game supports Wii Speak , Wi-Fi, friend code/ with or without actual friends, and two player offline area style split screen. CAPCOM has even bundled the game with Nintendo’s new Classic Pro Controller.
So far, my experience has been pleasant. The controls are great with the Pro and the learning curve isn’t hard, just be patient and you’ll feel great taking down a massive monster.
Buy it Jimmy! A game that’s FREE online, weekly quests that are added, and a soon to be growing online community. It’s a steal. BUY IT!
