Finally got a beta code and got onto a server today before they all filled up. Apparently I chose the wrong job class. Good thing this is a beta TEST. Jimmy!
I played the Final Fantasy XIV beta today for 3-4 hours. So there definitely isn't a time like of an hour or two like I had read earlier this week. Unfortunately, I may have started off with the wrong job class. I choose to be an alchemist. That sounds cool right. I figured I can just get a sword or a bow and go out to fight things. I'll just weak in those areas of fighting since my main skill was alchemy. Well, my only offensive weapon I has was "throw stone."
So the plan now is to try again, this time specifically choosing disciple of war and picking an archer. I don't want to do magic right away. I really enjoy crafting, that why I choose alchemy first. That and I figured potions would be good turn over for making money. The leve system is no big deal at all, I was partied with Estrada and were doing all of his leve. Again my only issue is that I did 1 damage and would get railed by the fungi.
Final Fantasy XIV DOES run on my pc. I turned the shadows off and a few other things to see what the effects are. Didn't seem to make much of a difference. My fan was maxed out and the screen seemed to be dropping frame rates. Oh and I couldn't figure out how to play full screen.
I can tell though, even screwing up and not really doing anything for the last couple of hours in Final Fantasy XIV, I will be addicted. Without a doubt.
Gouki Guild beta
Gradania City. *Will change with second character tomorrow.
I have submitted my application. Hurry and submit yours now. Gouki Guild team up on the same planet.
**UPDATED 9/3 1:13 pm
I have logged in and created my first character. I have not chosen a planet later. That's going to happen tonight, when I actually sit down to play.
I chose Disciple of the Hand, and I'm an alchemist. So don't pick the same exact shit if you plan to be in the Gouki Guild. Leave a message on this story and make sure your email updates are turned ON in your profile. Stay tuned Jimmy!Read full story...
1 of the more tougher fights earlier in the game, just because I think a lot of people get suprised & are not patient enough to stay focused in battle. It’s a long, but it’s easy. Check out this exclusive Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn video.
This isn't that hard, just stay alive Jimmy. Most people are just surprised by the duoble battle that takes place here, but you can do it!
Thanks for watching.
Free upgrades, always good :D
While Microsoft still have their fingers stuck up their asses Sony are fully emerged into cross platform with by far the best game this year Final Fantasy XIV.
Square Enix announced today that the PS4 beta will start in February while all PS3 players will be able to upgrade game version to the new system free of charge and that includes moving all characters over.

A new letter from the producer details FFXIV's upcoming glamour system and lets slip the release date of the new 2.2 patch.
Set your calendar for March 27. Well, probably the day after since it will likely be an all-day maintenance roll-out. That's the date we can expect the new 2.2 patch entitled "Through the Maelstrom" for Final Fantasy XIV to drop.
The glamour system will allow you to take any piece of gear and have it look like any equal or lower level piece of gear for that same slot that you have. Take a look...
Here she is going to make the Allagan caster robe look like the Crimson robe attained in CT. She's using some sort of catalyst called a "Glamour Prism".
If you're just picking this game up, join us on Malboro server and hit us up in the comments to join our FC. Don't forget to check out our starter guide.
The world is full! Now you can get a 1017 error when trying to purchase the game.
Straight from Square-Enix:
"Due to the overwhelmingly positive response to FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, we are currently experiencing extremely long wait times for users to be able to log in and play. As a temporary measure, we will halt sales of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN’s digital download products so we can accommodate all of those wishing to play. We are working to expand our server capacity in the coming days."
Well, that's interesting... looks like they've sold more copies than they can handle on the server side. I'm glad they're doing this so all of the pre-orders can hopefully get in and play until they work this out enough to continue selling.

Level 50 gathering is all about crystals, spiritbonding & getting stuff you actually need. Most importantly (as always) don't waste any time gathering Jimmy! Wanna know my GPH on crystals? Here's how in this video.
I spend the first half of this video working on -figuring out- spiritbonding. What I think it's coming down is jewelry only. I can try something like what I do with the Warrior. I have a completely different set for that, that is only just to turn into materia. I think I can do the same thing with the gathering, but I haven't tested to see what kind of a drop that would be in my perception. Nobody give a fuck about gathering ...
In the second half of the video I race myself to see how many crystals & shards I can get in 30 mins. It was about 200 each if I recall. You can watch the video & see just how I did it.

Thanks for watching.
I've been wanting to learn how to speed run Wanderer's Palace in FFXIV. Mostly because I hate running these dungeons over & over at this point. So I figure if I can get 3-4 runs in 1 hour, I'll be thrilled! Check out these videos.
So this is JP. This is the first 1 I saw. Everything is pretty obvious here. Group them all up & drop bombs. Yesterday I saw another video, but it had a PLD leading as well. I asked around for a WAR speedrun & you can check that out below.
I definitely thing the Scholar works best with a Warrior right now. The Black Mage is great for AOE damage & the Warrior really needs a Bard to keep his TP up.
I am about to get my Relic +1 weapon & I'll be doing some serious practice on my speedruns. You can watch on the stream when I do & I'll post the video after I get a time I like. Shooting for under 15 mins for sure.
If you're on Malboro & want to team up, send me a message. Avitas Sibannac. Don't be a Jimmy!

Before you proceed, there is nothing here but a bad ass CG trailer. From my perspective & I'm so far on the out side trying look in, I still can't tell what is happening with this game that is different.

The joy of playing FFXIV:ARR EA this past weekend.
A humorous, yet accurate video on how well the EA went this weekend for Final Fantasy: ARR. Let's hope SE fixes this server mess by launch day. Did anyone else experience the joy of this over the weekend?
I’m looking for some serious people to get down and destroy this Final Fantasy XIV. Team up with the Gouki Guild.
Gouki Guild in Final Fantasy XIV. Number 1 in the Eorzea!
I haven’t decided what town and or Job or craft I will do just yet. I will tell you I will not start in the castle town of Ul’dah. That is nubfarm. So lets talk about Gridania, it’s in the woods. The Bontanist, carpenters, and archer’s guild are all in Gridinia. Also the lancer's and Conjurrer's guilds as well. Those are all classes I’ve considered really focusing on. Bontanist for sure. I will be doing bontany, for a few reasons. One, it gets you out of the town. Chopping down trees and hacking away at flowers and other foliage.
I don’t think it will matter about which city we start in. The other option is Limsa Lominsa. My only issue is with this place is that it’s an island. That probably won’t make a difference once we unlock all of the travel routes. I like the water town because it’s open, blue and green. Gridania is just dark green and seems like it’s in the shade everywhere.
As a guild we will focus on working together throughout the world. Choose any class or profession you like. It’s more important to have fun than anything else. We’ll combine whatever we choose and work from there. I’m sure there will be plenty of things we will be able to take advantage of early one. Especially with my experience with the beta at this point. I got one Jimmy maxed out for the beta. Tons of items, maxed gear and a ton of money. What I need is some partners in crime and to take our Jimmys out and level them up.
So if you want to join the Gouki Guild sign up for Gouki.com and leave a comment on this story. On September 22, 2010 when Final Fantasy XIV is released we’ll meet and figure out what planet we’re gonna be on and go from there. Don’t be a Jimmy!
