EA AND INSOMNIAC GAMES REVEAL NEW FOUR-PLAYER CO-OP ACTION GAME OVERSTRIKE
Award-Wining Developer Makes its Worldwide Multiplatform Debut with an Explosive Spy-Fi Adventure
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – June 6, 2011 – A shadowy organization has threatened to take over the world and there’s only one team that can stop it: Overstrike 9. This afternoon during the Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), EA and independent developer Insomniac Games (creator of the Ratchet & Clank™ and Resistance™ franchises) announced the first details of the highly-anticipated game, Overstrike. Combining Insomniac’s knack for imaginative weaponry with immersive and witty storytelling, Overstrike is a four-player cooperative action game featuring a team of elite agents called Overstrike 9. Comprised of an ex-mercenary, a lifelong thief, a gifted young scientist and a decorated detective, the members of Overstrike 9 are considered outcasts within their own organization, but are the best team suited to stop a global terrorist group from attempting to wipe out humankind. Overstrike 9 uses lethal teamwork and an arsenal of fringe-tech gadgets to infiltrate and destroy enemy strongholds. Overstrike marks Insomniac’s first multiplatform release and will be available on the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.
“Overstrike presents a unique blend of features that have long been a part of the Insomniac DNA: high powered gadgets, action-heavy gameplay, memorable characters in a deep and mysterious universe and of course a touch of humor,” said Ted Price, founder and CEO of Insomniac Games. “And since this is our first multiplatform game, we’re especially excited to introduce ourselves to a new audience – one which may not have experienced our previous games.”
Overstrike will launch on the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

Gouki.com got a demonstration of the Furious 4 that is a radical departure from past Brothers in Arms games.
Gearbox software has been busy. Not only have they resurrected the Duke, but they've been working on an Aliens game and this new take on the Brothers in Arms universe. Randy Varnell of Gearbox assures us that we haven't seen the last of Matt Baker, the company will make a return to the traditional Brothers in Arms WWII shooter in "the future"... whenever that is, we'll let you know. In the meantime, enjoy this trailer of the Furious 4.
Furious 4 will be a four player co-operative shooter with skill upgrades (think Borderlands, in fact I'm pretty sure I saw the logo for Mordecai's Fast Hands skill in there). Unlike Borderlands, teammates don't just pop in and out of the world, instead there are individual missions at the end of which you and your cohorts will be given a summary of the destruction you've caused. Inquiries as to whether there will be a competitive multiplayer as well were met with "no comment".
The four characters have different skills, for instance Montana (the heavy gunner of the group) had a bear trap that would ensnare enemies temporarilly, allowing your teammates to pick them off. The trap could be upgraded to include a grenade, for even more fun and destruction.
To be sure, Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 was not what we were expecting and it's not a direct sequel to the previous games, it's more of an alternate universe take on the series. That said, Furious 4 is looking like fun so far. Stay tuned to Gouki.com for updates as we hear more about this game.
Here is the full press release:

This is about half of the video they were showing behind the scenes at E3
Let's start by saying I was dying for this game since before they announced it. I have loved the Elder Scrolls series. You get to run around in a very open world, build your character however you choose, kill anyone and anything you want (sometimes it screws up the story and stops you from being able to finish the game) and play however you feel like it.
But with the 5th game in the series they have added so much that the game can't help but blow your mind. But the video does way more for explaining it, so here it is. And this is how it looks on the 360.
Something they get to early is the fact that you can dual weild spells and using both hands leads to a bigger spell. That takes the game up some. You were able to dual weild before, but not like this. And we will also get killing blows this time around. So you can expect to have a more cinematic experience, instead of the same stab over and over you can finish the enemy off with style. We also get to see that instead of a basic stat sheet that they are giving us a star chart to build our skills in, and you create constellations as you do it. You can also look forward to over 150 dungeons in the game, and to make it better they have different dungeon styles this time. There are even visual clues as you play like flowing water that will help you find your way around. Free roaming dragons, that means they can do what they choose, show up any time, and even help you some. You will need to kill them to build your shouts so get ready. About half way through the video you even see him cast a spell on the ground that works as a trap.
The main problem I have with the game is that we don't get it until November 11th.
Are you hype?
Adding some new faces helps but half the roster?
Just one of the new faces you'll be seeing this time around. Patroclus is the son of Sophitia. His sister Pyrrha will also be in the game. The roster will be 20 - 30 characters, plus there will be a create a charachter option of some sort.
I made mention of a lot of new faces before but here they have confirmed half of the roster will be new. How do the fans of the series feel about that? And with 10 - 15 returning characters who do you want to see? Any characters you hope are getting cut? Plus we have had some talk about bonus characters, who are you hoping for? I'll try the game no matter what because of the history I have with it, but I might not be pre-ordering this. There is still a ways to go before we see the real game and the version they let people play at E3 was barely built. And with all these new characters being brought in what can we expect? If you aren't a fan of the series what would it take for you to give the game a chance?
E3 just hurt Nintendo
So here's how it goes. Nintendo shows us the Wii U, the next day thier stock drops 5 percent. The next day it drops another 5 percent. For those of you who struggle with math that's a 10 percent drop in just 2 days. The stock hasn't been this low since before the Wii 5 years ago.
I personally lost faith in nintendo when they made the N64, I hated that thing. I got my start with games back on the NES and still love it. Then the SNES had some incredible games. But the N64 had a control that I didn't like and a ton of kids games. So I became a Sony guy. But they still own the rights to some great characters. So for years I've joked that they need to just stick to games and forget these consoles that I'm not a fan of. But I'ld rather have to play a Wii than lose the characters completely.
And I am sure that investors were looking for something big out of E3, but the Wii U just wasn't what they wanted. This doesn't really hurt the company but it might serve as a wake-up call. The 3DS has not done anywhere near as well as they expected. What do you think about this? Is there someway for Nintendo to win you back? Or are you not bothered by any of this?
Where has Jack, from MadWorld, gone to?
He's kicking some ass and taking some names! This time, he's not alone!
Are you going to get in the way of a man with TWO chainsaws for a hand?

How does Lara Croft look like these days?
She looks great! With this game being a reboot, or telling of origins of the series, how will the story unfold for this archaeologist?
Honesty, she looks great before the breast implants! :D
Sega released a new trailer of Sonic Generations showing off a pretty memorable level, City Escape.
The music is that Nanana song from My Chemical Romance but I'm hoping it's just a promotional song and the traditional music from Sonic Adventure 2 stays intact. Plus at the last 3 seconds, you see Sonic flying through Spagonia, a level from Sonic Unleashed. But if there's any level from Unleashed I want, it would be Apotos.
And here's an interview with one of the devs that I wanted to post a while ago.

Is this the next Left for Dead or something more?
Dead Island seems to be a new survial take on zombies. Since it takes place in a Island, players must make maintain health, weapan and stamina balance. For instance, if you throw a knife, you better pick it up, chances are, you won't find another one soon. Like what you see? Let us know!
