Recent interview with Yoshinori ono is looking grim...but Japan sells for Catherine are at the top of the charts!
In this weeks Famitsu Magazine with an interview with Ono , he said there are no plans for home version of AE. Ontop of that he said certain characers in AE were made strong, " having such a character helps to build community and competitive spirit" Ono says. That was followed by him saying that home ssf4 was super balanced and no character was over powered. Even though he said there is no plan for AE home, he did not disconfirm Yun,Yang, E Ryu and Oni as DLC, he just didn't comment on it. This definately seems like we will have some sort of AE character DLC, but not the character changes. Also ssf4 was a great balanced fighter...compared to other fighters, but as its own game I felt lots of unbalance issues with lower tier characters vs people that had so many ultra options, juggles and damage output. Most people agree that AE is far more balanced...or is Ono just trolling as usual?
Is this news bumming you out, leaving you with a spark of hope or is it just nonsense, leave a comment below.
Edit: Someone asked ono on twitter about consoles not getting AE DLC and he said "Over My Dead Body" or something like that. -CinderkinRead full story...

Best Atlus game to date? Atlus has brought us such games as Shin Megami Tensei series(a personal favorite) and Persona, how does this new title stack up? Check it out.
Been following Catherine for a while, it finally came out (Japan release only, other release TBA) Feb 17nth. Basically you play as a guy named Vincent who meets a hot chick named Catherine and you have insane nightmares of getting killed and stuff. During the day you chill with your bros and talk about hoes, trying to find out what the hell is happening in the dream world a long with real life coincidences.
In the Nightmare world you climb and pull out blocks to make a pretty fun platforming experince while other things like traps and monsters try to keep you from your path. Also in this world you can collect coins to use on items. Your actions such as how you text people and what you do in the platforming levels change the outcome of your character and the route of the game. Without further ado check out these gameplay clips to get a nice feel or why this game is win-sauce. Check out official site here http://cathy.atlus.co.jp/ (source)
Heres 2 trailers uploaded by http://www.youtube.com/user/slaughterking
Also on youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/TokyoDomeSF4 has been bro enough to upload the full game a long with ENGLISH commentary, gives you a better idea of whats going on, he fills in some of the dialouge.
With impatiency rising and no real release date for American version, my friend is going to import it (not sure when), will give you hands-on info when I can :D So what do you guys think of this game? Want it in the U.S?

As expected, some games will have complications after the Tsunami and Earthquake. - UPDATED-
Most of you may know what happened in Japan, it was truly horrifying and continues to leave many of problems. Ofcourse this leads to news about what happens to some games.
DISASTER REPORT 4 by Irem for the PS3 was cancelled after the events in Japan. The game actually starts with a massive earthquake and you must help people out. Ofcourse this would be a extremely touchy subject to anyone ; too soon. With that being said, the company simply cancelled the game without reason and apologized to fans awaiting.
MOTORSTORM 3 Japan release has gone from the 17nth of this month to TBA. "Various Circumstances" are the reason of delay. But ontop of that, Sony's repair and information center has been halted because some services work from Miyagi Prefecture which was damaged in the Earthquake. PSN will still work, but minor issues may occur like content updates not showing or problems connecting.
FINAL FANTASY XI AND XIV are unavailable this week. Square Enix shut the services down to reduce power consumption due to many energy shortages. Because of the stop, April service for final Fantasy XI will be FREE. After the first week of suspension, more info will be posted on whether they will continue having it offline or not for XXXXX ammount of time.
METAL GEAR SOLID ONLINE is also being suspended, by Konami. This is another attempt to cut back on power. The restart date is still not known for the servers.
YAKUZA 4 was supposed to be released March 17. Sega announced that it is now TBA for " various reasons"
Many wishes to Japan on getting back on their feet, it's going to take a lot, but it will happen :) Leave your comments and thoughts below.
Wheatly that fits in the palm of your hand!
Youtube user http://www.youtube.com/user/ammnra is a crafty dude. He is the same guy who made the Rubix Companion cube last year, and replicates weapons from many other games. Today he brings us something a bit more relevant. Mini fan-made versions of Wheatly, Adventure Sphere, Fact Sphere and Space Sphere! They look like they came straight from Portal 2! Unfortunately he is not marketing/ selling them, so we can only watch in awe over the internet.
And his picture gallery http://www.flickr.com/photos/ammnra/sets/72157626669964230/with/5722889210/
What do you guys think of his craftsmanship? Super badass nice to me! Leave a comment on what you think, or share any info on other fan-made stuff.
Is the $15 Hack n Slash with RPG elements worth your time and money? Find out in the review.
Moon Diver is a side scrolling platformer with plenty of action. There are 4 characters Seyfert, Hitori, Tolb and Ourion. All of these characters can be lvled up by killing stuff and find new abilities to use.
It's bad, but thats ok, this is a hack and slash with some leveling up. The entire game is basically story-mode but the problem is how they try to tell it to you. The story is made up of really akward soundless custscenes with awkward text not explaining much, and cut-out pictures of characters floating around. As I said earlier this game doesn't need a story, but they didn't really try much on delivering it. But heres the story anyways- A boy named Faust controls something called the "Mephistopheles", which allows him to bring anything to life (this explains you fighting hordes of machinery and lasers). Faust wants humanity completely raped and to be some sort of ruler. But a special group of ninjas called "Moon Divers" have gotten orders to save humanity and stop him.
Easy and fun for anyone. The game is very straght forward with jumping and atacking. Every character can unlock a large amount of special moves to use (you start with one, the rest are found in levels, kinda making it a free for all to see who gets it first). Once you start collecting these specials, you can equipt up to 4 at a time, using them during battle, (they do drain your magic meter though). The great part is the many variations of moves to be found, AOEs, blinding enemies, freezing, boost defense, projectiles, all great fun.
Your Characters get 1 point to use everytime they level up. This point could be put into HP, MP or Power. Out of the 4 characters their stats start out differently, but this doesn't stop you from building them the way you want, in the end they could also have the same magic attacks aswell, what really differs is in their atack speed. -From fastest to slowest, the slower swinging charactrs start with more attack power anyways- Hitori, Seyfert, Tolbi and Ourion.
The levels are nothing too new to a playformer. Run a long distance killing stuff, jump on some platforms, have a bottom-less pit somewhere and lasers. But they did do a good job cramming ridiculous amounts of enemies into some akward areas, actually making you think about how you will go on about your killing (the game definately gets harder every level, even with a full team). Only bad part is that sometimes the game feels like a repetitive grind, but like any game, you have to keep going to experince new hazards and monsters.
Teamwork in this game is neccesary in higher levels. Voice-chat is available but people don't use it. When prompted, teamates can use a special move together (if done at same time), and this pulls off a awesome magic move that you may not have. A problem with being on a team are stuborn people. If one teamate is falling behind, or if someone wants to go in a different direction, the furthest team member will be injured/ slowly be teleported in some instances ; extremely annoying. Also knowing when to use your special moves instead of spamming them saves the team alot. Perfect example is when my team ONLY passed the level because someone had the "freeze all enemies for a short time" move, and he used it perfectly everytime, without that it would have been 100% failure. Also when you die, you float around slowly being able to control your movement. You have 10 seconds for a teamate to "break the chains" which is slashing you until your free, if this doesn't happen, you die for reals and wait for respawn. Game is over when everyone is dead.
CONTROLS / MOVEMENT:
All respond perfectly fine. You only use one button to attack , and can hold it for a stronger charge atack. You have another button only use for special moves. Another one for jumping/double jumping. And a button for dashing/air dashing and another for crouching. Attack speeds differ but all characters run the same speed, which flows perfectly fine with the game. Besides running around swinging, you can atack while jumping, dashing and even can perform a sort- of aeriel dash down attack. Also to climb and hold onto ledges, you simply jump to it, and getting down or jumping to a lower level is holding down+ attack. The game is definately simple and can be jumped into and enjoyed by anyone.
Since the entire game is story-mode driven, playing alone sucks if you don't have a few other friends. Lukily they did a AWESOME job with the online lobbys, simply love it. The search engine is simple and detailed. When looking for a room, you can search for difficulty, the level range of players are what level they are playing on. It then displays the host name, # of players in room and level they are on. Like any online game there is lag, but it is rare (and I live in Hawaii, probly barely any lag for you people in the Mainland).
Are better than I expected. The game just looks like it was made by Square-Enix. Everything looks good, especially huge explosions and beams ; dazzling stuff. The game does a good job with a cold industrialized look being splashed with awesome lighting effects. What suprised me the most was the awesome amount of detail found in some levels. Also, they did a really good job with shadow effects in this game, wasn't expecting that much depth.
- No Real Story - Just some dude trying to wipe out humans, and your group of badass ninjas are gonna save the world, but who cares about a story in a $15 hack n slash? Just have some fun.
- Gameplay is simple fun- Kill stuff, level up, realize it atually does get dificult and enjoy a decent game. A leveling system with 4 characters fits in just right.
- Graphics fit well- The game looks really good for a cheap DLC.
- Controls are Easy- If your bad at this game, I don't know what to tell you
- Online is where it's at- Constantly finding games and as you get to higher levels, you find less dumb people, making the experience all that much better.
BUY IT! It's not expensive and has plenty of fun. 4 characters allows you to experiment with different builds and have different gamestyles at your disposal and finding loads of special moves to use adds more playtime.
Some info on the characters and game mechanics to Konami's upcoming Third-Person Shooter.
Neverdead, a game where you play as a Demon Hunter who is seemingly immortal hasn't had much info in a while, till now. You play as the main Demon Hunter Byrce. A long with shooting from third-person, you can also use your limbs as weapons. Bryce can get blown to shit and stlll function in some ways but it is game over when all you have left is your head. Not sure how, but you can also use stuff in the enviroment as weapons, like pillars and walls. One fun-tool to being immortal is covering Bryce in flames as a physical attack and also shoots fire bullets. Now check out the main cast:
An immortal demon hunter who is employed by NADA, a group that covers up recent demon attacks that have afflicted the city. He spends his days killing off demons to collect beer money
An investigator with NADA. She overseas demon hunters, but does not appear to be too fond of being in charge of Bryce.
Like Bryce, demon hunter Alex has the Evil Eye, which is a sign of immortality. However, it is rumored that he is not fully immortal.
A charismatic idol who's half Indian and half American. She meets Bryce following a certain incident
Cool cast, the Half-Indian idol is a bit random. Alex is interesting, I wonder what the technichal difference is between him and Bryce. Hope some character videos show up soon. Does this seem like a fun game? Heres the 2010 video preview in-case you missed it.

4 Different pre-order Bonuses from 4 places, which will you choose?
RFA (Red Faction: Armageddon) is to be released for PS3, PC and XBOX360 on May 31. Like EVERY game released now a days, you get special stuff for pre-ordering. But you must choose between Gamestop, BestBuy, Amazon and Wallmart Bonuses. Check them out below.
- Codes for Red Faction Battleground, a $10 downloadable game for free, PSN FOR XBL released on April 5th. Free for PS+ anyways.
- COMMANDO PACK- Plasma Thrower, dual Laser Pistols, and the armored Commando uniform (Pics below)
- RECON PACK- Recon uniform, the Arc Welder, and the Nanite-launching XNG-5000 (pic below)
- Limited Edition 24-page comic book
- Also doing battleground game for either consoles, April 5th.
Still not too sure if I'm getting it, Red Faction was alright back in the day, not too into it now. Pre-order deals sure are convincing gamers to get games they are on the fence about. If I were to get it, Gamestop is easily packing the best deal. What do you guys think? Don't be a jimmy, leave a comment below.
Minecraft Mods are a big thing. Recently stumbled across a Portal Mod, check it out!
Yup, a Portal mod has been made and it is sweet. Minecraft user carlotta4th has made a texture pack that mimics the Enrichment Center of Portal. Yes you will find Glados, Companion cubes and adorable turrets. There are 2 packs: Precisely Portal and Modified Portal.
Precicely Portal keeps many things to the true Portal feel, but apparently makes it hard to play Minecraft on, while Modified still keeps a big Minecraft feel and look to the game. Thread with mods here http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1021&t=171644
Heres a preview uploaded by http://www.youtube.com/user/koriplays
The Portal Gun is a seperate mod found here http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=1032&t=215961 by minecrafter iChun
Anyone Minecrafters here on Gouki? I recently got into it and seeing this Portal mod makes it so much better. Any of you try it before? Leave a comment on what you think, don't be a jimmy.

Pizza boxes and pillow cases, oh my...
Just got an email from Atlus with awesome news for upcoming game Catherine. For $79.99 you get the "Love is Over" Delux Edition. This includes a Men's Large shirt that Catherine wears with empty hearts, the large mens boxers wth hearts that Vincent wears in the dream world, a sexy Catherine pillow case and a....pizza box :p
The pre-order deal gets you a artbook and CD.
Catherine comes out 2 months from now. What do you guys think of these bonuses? Considering the fact that games are over $60 now a days(and if you pre-order), you would be getting a artbook, baller-ass music, and some clothes/pizza box for $15-20. But no matter how I try to justify it, $80 is $80 >_>. In less than a month might be seeing a post by goukijones with amazon deals, with Love is Over Delux Edition for $49.99 The shirt is awesome, but not enough. I'm mostly likely going with the standard pre-order.
Leave a comment below and don't be a jimmy.
I love Doujin fighters and not too many people talk about them. Here's my review of a game I've been playing for a couple of years; BigBangBeat. Maybe it will get some of you interested in doujin fighters.
If you aren't familiar with Doujin fighters, they are fan-made fighting games that for the most part you can download for free online. A lot of them are actually pretty good and some are turned into official games (Like Melty Blood). Unfortunately many doujin's don't work well or have sketchy fighting systems. I bring you my review of one of my favorites: BigBangBeat- 1st Impression. A PC game.
