A very weird cartoon will probably mean a very weird game.
The game Ugly Americans: Apocalysegeddon is based on a TV show on Comedy Central. If you never watched it I can explain real quick. The main character is a social worker for monsters. He helps them adapt and find a place in the world. They go though some really weird shit. His roomate and friend is a sex obsesed zombie. His co-worker is a drunk wizard. His girlfriend is a sucubus. And his boss is a demon trying to bring the world to it's end. There is also a human cop who is always trying to arrest or kill his monster clients. So yeah it's pretty strange. I'm not sure how they are planning to turn it into a game though. On gamasutra they say it will be a four player side scrolling shooter that you can download for $10. There are supposed to be more details given at E3.

You got just a couple seconds of it in the video they showed at the Sony press conference, but that was enough to make me want to know more.
Yet another game where your character starts with amnesia. She goes by the name Kat and you'll get plenty of comic book styled cut scenes that you flip through on the touch screen. And she is into some hand to hand combat, giving you combos and special moves you can use to fight through this world in. You also get to defy gravity and control where you land by tilting the Vita.
As a new IP with a heavy anime influence the game has my attention. I'm really looking forward to learning more about this game as the details surface. And if I find a way to get myself a Vita this game has a great chance at joining my collection.

FnJimmy's favorite game (based on time spent playing) of E3.
From Dust allows you to mold the landscape by moving sand, water, lava and more around the map to help the people survive. FnJimmy would not stop playing this game, we must have been there for a good half an hour. I think he railed the first two levels before we left. I think it had something to do with the Ubisoft booth babe who was giving him the demo.

Create your own platformer that creates music.
This seemed a bit lame at first, but really caught my interest. Sound Shapes is a platformer coming to the Sony NGP. You create your own level, but you can pick different instruments and notes for everything you put into the level. The creating process looks fairy simple and the sound is nice. As far as movement goes, your little ball can jump and stick/ un-stick to surfaces. Red things hurt you and bounce pads record the sequence you hit them, and add that beat to the music! Heres the video.
With a simple music tool it does look really fun. Especially when you create a cool beat to a level and as you play more music is added onto it is a fun idea. Guy in the video said it took around 4 years to make, I don't really see that but ok. Anyone looking forward tot he NGP or toy-around games like this?
Drake's 3 is one of the games I want to play most from E3 2011. That's kind of a no brainer, even with it's cheesey one liners & odd voice acting. Why is it Drake is the only that sounds like he is actually alive & not just waiting to read his next line
Afer the Sony Press Conference I got to play a little bit of the Multiplayer and it's pretty sweet. What I really want to do is sit back and enjoy the campiagn though. I just recently played through both Uncharted's again and even after that I couldn't get my controller setting right and I was looking like a nuab playing at the Sony Press Conference. WTF is an X and Y axis?! Just do Inverted On or Off.

Skullgirls was on my schedule as the last thing on the final day of E3. I knew I had one of the best things saved for last and I couldn't wait to actually see this game in person. But a whole 28 hour period before I stopped by this little corner in the Konami booth, FnJimmy and BatRastered played Skullgirls. Here's FnJimmy's official take, moments after playing Skullgirls for the very first time ever.

Then I finally rolled up the following day a little early for my last appointment. Also spending all that time before hand in the Square booth, depleted my flask and totally had me in the mood for a fighting game. I was greeted by Alex and he was cool. He knew about the game enough and was constantly taking notes. I was then introduced to Ian Cox a designer at Reverge Labs. He interrupted two Jimmys that were playing on 1 of the 2 Skullgirls set ups in the Konami booth, kicked them off. Then Ian and I stepped up to play. You notice badass nice custom fight sticks, completely decked out with the Skullgirls. They were from Arcade in a box. Check out this picture I snapped while they we're packing up.
So we began to play. We did 3V3. First cool thing about Skullgirls is you can do 3V3 2V2 1V1 OR 1V2 1V3 2V3 and the scales adjust your health and damage, depending on how many are on your team. The game looks amazing, I'm not going to even talk about that. Check out this Off Screen footage I captured while FnJimmy and BatRastered played again.
E3 2011 Skullgirls Off Screen
Skullgirls has a classic Street Fighter 6 button control setup and fighting style. Add in the MvC style swapping plus super chains and you got some craziness on your hands. Only 3 characters were playable at the show. I played with Cerebella most of the time, she's a grappler, like Zangief. Like how FnJimmy likes his women. Another cool innovation in Skullgirls is the non jumping 360. Ian explained, if you hit bottom 5 points of the fight stick while circling for a 360 motion, the character will lock to the ground and not jump. I thought that was very smart. There's tech throws and something like a alpha counter/snap back, but more on that later. Skullgirls has a ton of depth to it.
Ian would show me chain combos and it reminded me a lot of Street Fighter 3 style button chains. Nothing crazy and out of control fast like MvC3. The pace of the game looked well balanced, but I didn't really get to see any of the mixed size team matches. That's also an interesting idea.
All in all this is something to get hype for. It's coming to XBLA and PSN, so it's not going to be more than $20 hopefully around $15. At $15 I strongly encourage fighting game fans to give this game a try. This is gonna be in competition at EVO 2012. Don't be a Jimmy!
During EA's E3 2011 press conference, Ted Price announced that Insomniac games was working on a multiplatform co-op shooter.
Insomniac Games, most known for their PS3 exclusives, the Resistance and Rachet & Clank series are now working with EA to release a multiplatform co-op shooter. I'll let Ted Price take it from here:

Just watched the Nintendo press conference for the wii u. I love the wii u but hate that they are still using the Nintendo wii as the console it runs off of. Or is the wii-u a totally new console with improved graphics and 1080p outputs?
- Appearantly I was hasty with my take on the video from the conference. My brother-in-law pointed out this tech spec list that claims to be from Nintendo. I hope our guys at the conference got a copy of this spec sheet to confirm it. But it shows that the wii u is actually a NEW CONSOLE with updated graphics and 1080p outputs. Here is the list of specs
- It also seems there are some games that are displaying PS3 game play visual levels. I'm not 100% sure just how well they compare at this point since I'm going by what I see on the videos. Actual game play could be less pretty if these early builds turn out to be final builds. I am completely blown away by the Aliens trailer, the new wii-u UI and controller will make that game jump off the screen and completely freak you out like the movie did.

Pro gamer FnJimmy goes hands-on with Skyward Sword in the Nintendo booth. Watch as he destroys the first demo and has time for another.
FnJimmy and I headed to the Nintendo booth to play some Zelda Skyward Sword. You can choose the bird riding level, a dungeon level, or a boss battle. They only give you a 10 minute demo to keep the lines moving and FnJimmy had played a little bit of the combat last year, so I encouraged him to take on the bird riding.
Most of the people in front of us had tried the bird riding too, none of them seemed able to beat it in the 10 minutes allowed. Noobs... give that Wii mote to FnJimmy and watch him do his best Fred Savage from that one movie from the 80's...
Uhhh... No, the other one...
Yeah, he may be a n00b at FPS games, but FnJimmy was born with a Nintendo controller in his hand. Okay... back to reality... Watch FnJimmy rail the birds so fast he still has time to do the dungeon level. "Good job, Jimmy!"
FnJimmy had a huge grin on his face after that and wouldn't let us leave the Nintendo booth until I had recorded his takes. So here is the offical FnJimmy hands-on impressions of The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword.

E3 2011 Exclusive: Team Gouki checked out Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon. While BatRastered grills the PR Jimmy, GoukiJones raips on screen. Later FnJimmy offers his take as well. Don't be a Jimmy!
Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon is a cheap game Jimmy, $40 bucks out the gate. We might have a serious deal of fun here. 3 player online co-op, 4 different suits to use and upgrade, tons of bugs and aliens to shoot and destructible environments. Developed by Vicious Cycle Software out of North Carolina, EDF could be their best game yet. Of course "could be" is the key word there since I haven't actually played the final product. I am hype.
I had fun while playing the demo. You can check out my killin' bugs and dropping buildings in the video below, while BatRastered asks as many questions as he can.
