FF14 The New Realm revealed. Really? It's still empty. It looks dreadful. Big sad face here still. Where's the update with the fun factor? When will that be added?

I lay my entire plan on the table for the four day phase 4 beta test of Final Fantasy XIV. This character will carry over, so it's full-on! My Goal: level 20 MRD. Level 20 GLD. Additional Job abilities. GC, FG & Bird. Get ready to rail Early Access.
Okay so here’s the plan …
I want to get to endgame as a Warrior ASAP after release. I don’t want to play MRD full time at end game tho. I just figure there are going to be a lot of nuabs playing & I need to be in a leader’s role or I’m gonna die a lot. Plus it’s easier for tanks to get into Duty Finder & I’m familiar with MRD, since I played that in the beta. With that said …
Let me just clarify a few things. I was in phase 3 of the beta, so I will get access to phase 4 of the beta this coming Friday. August 16, 2013. I’m expecting it to kick off the same time the other phases started around 2AM. Yes, I will plan accordingly that day to be awake at 2AM, PWNn!
If you have an invite to phase 4, you can start playing on Saturday. Phase 4 is open beta, but if you did not apply earlier for it, you will have to register on Saturday & wait for an email. I have no further details on this. Don’t be so late next time. Don’t be a Jimmy!
Phase 4 of the beta is capped at level 20. So you should be able to get to a Grand Company & get your Chocobo. All of that stuff isn’t hard to miss, it’s part of the main story. Once you beat Ifrit, you’ll know. Okay since we can only get to level 20, there’s going to be a lot of free time to do other things in the game. When I first played, I got to level 18 in less than 2 days. I was doing a lot running around & side quests. Not this time. Fuck side quests. I’ll run around as an Arcanist at the end of phase 4 & do Jimmy ass side quests, if I’m bored.
Main goal #1. Get to Level 15 -> Get an Airship pass. The moment I land in Gridania, I hoof it over to the Conjurer’s guild & get my CNJ up to level 2, maybe level 8 depending on how long I think it will take. The reason for this is, CNJ unlocks Cure at level 2 & Protect at level 8. Having Cure would be nice, it’ll save me GIL on potions & I’ll just have another way to heal myself in battle. Can’t rely on the nubfarm.
At this point I may stick around Gridania & get a couple of more abilities, just so I have them & later on I can test out with different builds. For example:
Feint - Level 2 Lancer: Delivers an attack with a potency of 120.
Additional Effect: Slow +20%
Keen Fury - Level 4 Lancer: Increases parry rate by 20%.
Straight Shot - Level 2 Archer: Delivers an attack with a potency of 140.
Additional Effect: Increases critical hit rate by 10%
Raging Strikes - Level 4 Archer: Increases damage dealt by 20%.
Then it’s time to get the fuck outta Gridania. I sure will miss all of those green trees. If you continue the main story quest you should be on your way to Ul’Dah now. I believe after you complete the story quests here it will be time for your first dungeon. Since you can only get to level 20, I don’t think there is a super rush to keep going with your main right now. I’ll stop & get 1 more subjob ability while I’m here.
Second Wind - Level 8 Pugilist: Instantly restores 25% of maximum HP.
Thaumaturge moves are pretty worthless for MRD at this point. So I’ll skip that class all together right now. Second Wind from the PUG is huge for the MRD, restore 25% of my HP instantly? Yes, I need that. While playing MRD during phase 3, I would drop to low health in party without warning & very fast. This could send the CNJ in your party into a panic mode & he may not be able to heal you fast enough. Having stuff like Second Wind, Cure, & Hi-potions on you are going to save your life & keep your entire party alive.
What about Gladiator? You need GLD to get to Warrior with your MRD Jimmy. I know, I know. But at this point (again because of the level 20 cap) I don’t know how big of a deal it is to rush this down. Maybe level him up quick to get Flash, but you don’t need that. You should know how to control hate during battles without needing that skil. Still tho, if I think there’s time, I’ll do it.
Now I’m gonna finish the current storyline with my main job. Get to level 20, beat Ifrit, get to a GC & get my bird. So my MRD is now level 20, now what? Now I go back to Ul’Dah & get my GLD to 20.
No crafting or gathering during phase 4 for me. I only want class levels. After I get my MRD & GLD maxed out, I’ll decide what I want to do. I’ll probably want to fool around with Arcanist. I really want to be a Bard endgame, I love everything I hear about that job. Plus, I’ve always liked playing Archer. In Final Fantasy XI I was a healer, so I’m not too excited about doing that right away in this game. White Mage style anyway, I want to see how the Arcanist is set up. I love pets!
If all of this stuff comes to light & I can complete it by the end of phase 4, I think I’ll be off to a good start. I really want to craft & gather, but if I don’t get to endgame (lvl50) early & with my FC, I’m going to get left behind & I’m not having that. Don’t be a Jimmy!
I will be on Malboro for the Final Fantasy XIV. I will have a Gouki LinkShell. I will be rolling with TAW.net as my Free Company.
I've been wanting to learn how to speed run Wanderer's Palace in FFXIV. Mostly because I hate running these dungeons over & over at this point. So I figure if I can get 3-4 runs in 1 hour, I'll be thrilled! Check out these videos.
So this is JP. This is the first 1 I saw. Everything is pretty obvious here. Group them all up & drop bombs. Yesterday I saw another video, but it had a PLD leading as well. I asked around for a WAR speedrun & you can check that out below.
I definitely thing the Scholar works best with a Warrior right now. The Black Mage is great for AOE damage & the Warrior really needs a Bard to keep his TP up.
I am about to get my Relic +1 weapon & I'll be doing some serious practice on my speedruns. You can watch on the stream when I do & I'll post the video after I get a time I like. Shooting for under 15 mins for sure.
If you're on Malboro & want to team up, send me a message. Avitas Sibannac. Don't be a Jimmy!

Watch this reh-tard whack trees & rocks for an hour. Leveling up. The key to leveling up while gathering is ...
Accuracy & Speed.
The more strikes that DON'T miss, the more XP & items you get. Moving from node to node & not missing any strikes is all about speed. What is your GPH? That's Gathering Per Hour, nubfarm. I'm guessing mine is around 720GPH during this video. I connected with a node 720 times during the hour. I think I'm low balling myself too. I did go from 27 to 29 in less than an hour.
Yeah I leve'd up, but yo it's 1 of the fastest ways to level up. The other option that I've been experimenting with is going back a few levels & chasing HQs. Earlier today I was after Wyvern Obsidian. I was getting 700+XP for HQ's. I got total 99 NQ's & 26 HQ's when I was done. I haven't done any of the math on this to see if it was a more valuable usage of my time. More on that to come.
Back to the strategy here. I mount my Chocobo immediately -I never move a step on the ground without being on my Chocobo- Okay, that's a lie. I will run to a close node, sometimes & I mean very rarely for me thus far. That is faster than calling in the mount. I see level 30's now STILL running around on foot. Don't be a Jimmy!
More on the gathering to come next week after Zero pulls his head from his ass & we can get back on track to 50.
Thanks for watching.

It's clear early on in this fight that you have support. Most people shouldn't die on this quest. Most.
Pretty easy boss fight. You got a healer on your side.
Thanks for watching.
I ran this dungeon a couple of times in the Duty Finder. Both times we timed out. I was not thrilled that the WHM could not stay up during the final boss when the final boss was facing me the entire time. So I begged my FC for help ... here's the clip.
Special thanks to Cazidy Jones & Navani Kholin from my FC TAW for rolling with me thru another dungeon. They also helped me get thru the Sunken Temple. Random Jimmys couldn't even get past the first boss in that dungeon. Jimmy don't like that.
The Stone Vigil is fairly simple. The boss fights are pretty mindless. Especially if you get 3-4 shots at them you should know what you are dong. Pulling the right mobs, sleeping them right mobs & attacking the same thing as the tank really helps your speed. Stay out of the doorways where the dragon drops down & breaths fire. Again that's not a big deal. Watch out for the roaming patrol dragons & there's a couple of surprise attacks from ICE Jimmy ass monsters. The tank can get Blizzard out rather quickly so get those heals on him.

Find me on Malboro server rolling with FC TAW & talking shit in the Gouki Linkshell.

Plan on leveling any Gathering DoL Class? Check out this guide in best gear for those levels. (20-30)
The most important thing about gathering (especially while leveling) is not missing. Every miss is a waste of time. So I think having maxed out gear, jammed full of Materia is the best way to go. Here’s a list of what I was wearing from level 20-25. I make all of my own gear & add my own Materia.
Head: Velveteen Bandana Lv. 23
Velveteen Wedge Cap of Gathering Lv. 27
Body: Cotton Doublet Vest of Gathering Lv. 21
Velveteen Coatee of Gathering Lv. 27
Hands: Cotton Work Gloves Lv. 20
Velveteen Work Gloves Lv. 30
Waist: Toadskin Survival Belt Lv. 27
Legs: Initiate's Slops Lv. 20
Velveteen Sarouel of Gathering Lv. 25

BatRastered needed to get thru Halitali & I was level a GLD at 22, so we did it. Here it is. Felt like ages ago I ran this dungeon.
It's been a while since I've done this dungeon. Honestly felt like ages. I couldn't remember any of the boss fights. I remember Halitali being 1 of my early favorites tho. We get thru this pretty quickly. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below. My main a lvl 50 WAR. Don't be a Jimmy!

Mr. Happy gives his thoughts about what changes need to be made to the tank classes in FFXIV:ARR.
So what does everyone think about the changes he lists that he thinks needs to be made? Do you think they'll benefit WAR and PLD? Leave your comments below. Thanks for reading.
With the release of the PS4 version only a month away, we know there will be many new faces on Eorzea. Here's how to not look like a n00b even though you are one.
Choosing a server (world)
There are only two datacenters, North America (located in Montreal) and Japan. Pick a server from the DC closest to you. If you want to play with the Gouki team, pick Malboro (NA).
Choosing a race
Hyur (Human): Really? Zzzzzz.
Elezen (Elf): About the same size and shape as human, can get a bit taller and has pointy ears. Good wizarding material. You think Legolas is the star of the LotR and fantasize about Spock.
Miqo’te (Cat people): A tiny bit smaller than humans, but not annoyingly so. Have cat ears on top of their heads and whiskers. You’re probably into furries and/or MLP.
Roegadyn (Giants): Big, muscular. Great for tanks or if you really want to see the detail in those armor pieces and have poor eyesight or a small monitor. You like bodybuilders, Muscle magazine is your porn.
Lalafell (Hobbits): Tiny, round, cute, and annoying. If you are a pedophille or just like trolling people, this is your dream race.
All kidding aside, the race you choose doesn’t matter much. We’re talking about 1-2 points in your base stat. If you REALLY are in to min/max when you MMO and you can’t live without those 1-2 points, follow this rule: Tanks should pick Roegadyn and choose Sea Wolves for the sub race. Melee DPS should choose Hyur Highlander. Archers should choose Elezen Wildwoods. Casters should choose Elezen Duskwights and Healers should choose Miqo’te Keepers of the Moon.

Why does Square send me video in a language I don't understand. About a game I don't understand in English. Classic Jobs return in Final Fantasy XIV.
This first video, I have no idea what is going on. It looks like a raid, but it would have been spectacular if this was an American team or at least a team that was playing in English. I can't tell what is happening. FFXIV still looks good. That's probably all it is still. Good looks.
Classic Final Fantasy jobs are being added to FFXIV. This shouldn't surprise anybody. When the game was released jobs were Thaumaturge, Marauder and Pugilist. I've never heard of anything like this. Well maybe I could imagine what a Marauder does. Now they have added Black Mage, White Mage, Warrior, Bard etc.
Is this game still doomed to fail? FF14 is in its second year now. I believe they are charging the Jimmys for it now too. Are you playing FF14? What do you Jimmys think about the MMO market? Has it died out completely? Jimmys are too busy playing League of Legends and Starcraft on the PC now. Diablo III May 15th 2012. Don't be a Jimmy! Vote, Comment & Share!

What are your odds on desynthing?
I'd been saving up for this desynth fest for months. I figured no matter what I had to pop all of these before the 2.4 patch. Here's how it all went down.Read full story...
