The 3DS is a beast!!
What up you Jimmies? Rei here with your Nintendo news! Any news! So listen, read, up!
First thing first, this will change the way we handheld games(both better and worse lol)! The 3DS will have eight games at the launch, in Japan, and here they are with their yen value and my assumtion value of it;
Nintendogs & Cats ¥4,800 (+$50)
Winning Eleven Soccer 3D ¥5,800 (+$60)
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition ¥4,800 (+$50)
Samurai Warriors: Chronicle ¥6,090 (+$65)
Puzzle Bobble 3D ¥4,980 (+$55)
Ridge Racer 3D ¥6,090 (+$65)
Battle of the Giants: Dinosaurs 3D ¥5,040 (+$52)
Professor Layton and the Mask of Miracle ¥5,980 (+$62)
And what a line up! Ridge Racer 3D and Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition will be my pick. So you might be asking, "Jimmy! How much ya nub?!" Well, with no pinpoint price, I'm calling it at $250. Yup.
But let's be realistic. The Yen is stronger than the dollar, so those games would really cost between $30 and $40. And with the system at your hands, you can play a max of 8hrs with no 3D on and low light.... But it's "3D" so around 4hrs max. Not bad but could've been WWWAAAYYYY better. Just take a look at both Resident Evil: The Mercenaries and Dead or Alive Dimension respectfully;
With graphic that look GREAT on a handheld, this little monster will be a force to be dealt with! Just watch this small preview of their expected line up!
The 3DS will also have eight, 8, gigs of cartridge! That's more than SIX, 6, times the amount of umd from the PSP(1.8gigs)! Oh yeah! Graphics and gameplay in the palm of your hand!
But if you don't like those choices of games, you can download old classic game too! Just like that dusty Wii you have being used as a night stand, it can download games from the Gameboy and Gameboy Color catalog! That way, you can see how far we have came....
Take a look at some sexy pictures too!
So, are you guys excited too? Let us know, down below!
Free exp Jimmys!!
Apologies if this has been posted before. Halo waypoint has codes for free exp and gear here. I've unlocked Raider gear and 20k exp today, Ill find more codes later.
Frequently Asked Questions about Gouki.com. You should read this before using the site. Ask questions below.
Q: How do I write a story on Gouki.com?
A: Rule number 1: Don't be a Jimmy - Don't write a story with a title people won't understand. Don't write a story that starts with a bullet point and ends with a comma. When you write a story on Gouki.com it must be about video games. Otherwise BatRastered is going to be quick to delete it. Video game stories can be about anything though. Your story must be tagged with one of the following:
Blog. Fuck it. Blog it, write about whatever you want, however you want. As long as it's video game related.
Review. Write a review that follows our rating system. It's real easy. Reviews can be for hardware or software, new releases or old ass games, including demos and beta tests.
Preview. You can post a video with a short description of a game. You could also write a story about a recent press release. These stories work best with a source attached. Remember BatRastered is watching.
News. We most certainly encourage our readers to post the news, but what we want to hear are your versions of it, your opinions. So don't just post a press release cut and paste job. Explain why you are interested in this game and why you want to share your interests with the Goukimunity.
Pictures. Want to share pictures, the best way to do that is to use any of the image sharing sites. I prefer photobucket.
Video. You only need to cut and paste the "watch url" from youtube into the body of your story. Do not paste the url into the source. After you save your story the video will appear. [See image below if nubfarm.] If you want to post a video - write a short explanation why you are posting this video and what it is about.

Once again the Tournament of World Warriors is upon us. So what's in store? Check out this preview for all the info on Capcom's next entry in the Street Fighter series.
With the release of Super Street Fighter IV only a little over two weeks away, the hype is building! Gamers all over the world are anticipating the release of this title, eager to get a hold of the new characters and let everyone feel their heavy hand. With all of the additional content this version has to offer over Street Fighter IV, the price of $40 brand new is a steal. So just what is the extra content we're getting? Let's see.
In addition to the original 25 characters from SFIV, there are now 10 more warriors to battle with. Three of them are taken from SF3: Third Strike-Makoto, Dudley and Ibuki. Three more are from the Street Fighter Alpha series-Cody, Guy and Adon. On top of that are two brand new characters-A practioner of Tae-Kwon-Do, Juri and a Turkish Oil Wrestler, Hakan. Dee Jay and T. Hawk are returning as well. There have never been so many fighters added at once before, bringing tons of new match-ups. All of the original 25 have also been re-balanced. Changes have been made to properties of moves, frame-data, hitboxes, combo's and in some cases new special moves have even been added. The icing on that cake is that all 35 fighters now have two ultra's to pick from.
Characters and Features Trailer:
- Endless Battle Mode: This is basically the 8-player lobbies we are used to. Two players battle it out while the other 6 spectate the match and voice chat is open for all to communicate. The fact that this mode was missing from SFIV left many fans scratching their heads. The days of quiet 1v1 battles are almost over!
- Team Battle Mode: In this mode you have teams ranging from 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 or any mix of those, so you can have 2v4 or 4v3 if you wanted. It will continue searching for other players to fill the empty slots for you so you don't have to create room after room, as long as the slots are not set to "private".
- Replay Channel: Capcom has went above and beyond this time with the replays. You can watch and save other player's battles, as well as your own. The only requirement to upload your replays is that you have won 3 battles in a row. There are filters in place that will make searching for the type of replay you're looking for easier. They are "Alpha", "Turbo and III", "Bosses" and "Newcomers". When watching a replay, you can choose to see input data from the controllers or joysticks, along with damage/stun/combo data. You can also choose to watch in slow motion or utilize the new ability to watch the match frame-by-frame! In any online mode if you are watching a match, with the touch of a button you can record and save that match to your hard drive! Thought that the match wasn't that good, but then something cool happened? No worries. Just press the record button and you'll get the match in its entirety! You can also gather up to 7 people with you in a lobby to watch one of the replays you have and anyone can save it.
SSFIV has 5 new stages to offer:
African Savannah Stage:
Many fans(including myself) do not think this is enough stages. Seth Killian has confirmed that they have heard our cries and know that we want more, though there is no word whether we will be able to get some as DLC or not. The stages that we have gotten are nice looking though and are a welcome addition.
- Bonus Rounds: Remember smashing the car and breaking the barrels in the original SF2? Well these bonus stages are back in the Arcade Mode for your destructive pleasure.
- Intros and Endings: Since SSFIV is set one year after the original, there are new intro and ending animations for all 35 characters. It was said by Ono in the beginning of SSFIV's development that he had heard the cry of the fans about the quality and length of the cutscenes and promised that the ones in SSFIV would be much better. Unfortuntely they ran out of time and money, resulting in actually worse intros and endings for everyone. Now instead of actually being animated, you watch still screen pictures with voicework over it.
- New Alternate Outfits: All of the returning fighters will get one new costume, giving them 3 in total. The 10 new warriors will have 2 costumes. Capcom has unfortunately decided of going down the path of having you pay for these new costumes as DLC unlocked from the disc despite major complaints from the community when they did this in SFIV. You can either buy packs of costumes individually over time or wait until they all come out and then by the all-in-one pack.
- Colors: So in SFIV you had 10 colors you could unlock for your clothes. This time there are rumored to be 12 colors. The 11th(Inky look) and 12th(Hand-drawn look) colors have been confirmed as becoming available if you have a SFIV save file on your hard drive.
So now that you know what's up, what are you waiting for?! Pre-order Super Street Fighter IV today, or win it for free right here on Gouki.com! Hurry, Dojo Edition pre-orders for the PS3 & 360 versions are already sold-out!
For any fan of Street Fighter, this game is a no-brainer. If you haven't picked up SFIV yet, then this is your perfect chance to get in on all the action. Practice up!

600+ GP is optimal for maximize your gathering. You want to use Unearth II before your first swing. After some hands-on with Brutal Legend, what's the verdict?
Brutal Legend is a good looking game with some serious production values. It's basically a hack-and-slash 3-d platformer mashup. The animation is great and the dialogue and voice acting (featuring Jack Black) are top-notch. You can certainly expect some laughs while playing through this game. It feels like you're controlling a Jack Black animated feature.
You have two basic weapons, your axe and your guitar. Your axe functions much like you'd expect it to, with decapitated and bisected enemies strewn about in its wake. Your guitar allows you to shoot either some sort of lightning, or pyro effects. The pyro allows you to knock enemies up in the air, where you can knock them out baseball style with your axe.
The controls are tight while on foot, but tend to get a little loose when you're in your vehicle. Like most third person 3-d games, this one too suffers from some camera issues. There are options to set the camera speed, and those help, but a re-center type button would've been nice. One of the boss battles has you driving your car, but the camera is panned out and not behind you which creates a bit of steering trouble (for me anyway).
The finished game also includes a muliplayer mode, which should add some replayability to this title.
If you like the hack-and-slash or 3-d platformer genre, I'm sure you won't be dissapointed with this game. Me, I love everthing about this game, except playing it. It's really not my style, game-play wise. I'd love to watch someone else play through it. I would definitely try before you buy, especially if you have an XBox live gold account, as you can download the demo right now, for free. If you're one of those people who loved Psychonauts so much that you still talk about, well, WTF are you doing reading this, don't you have a pre-order to pick up?
Brutal Legend releases October 13, 2009. Pre-order now.
Claptrap's new Robot Revolution is coming the 28th. Level 69! UPDATED with scaling info.
On September 28th, you will be able to download both the latest DLC for Borderlands (Claptrap's New Robot Revolution) and a free patch that boosts the level cap to 69. (That's 8 new levels if you already have the General Knoxx, but a whopping 19 if you don't.)
On October 12, you can buy the game and all 4 DLC in the Game of the Year edition for $60. Be sure to check back on Gouki.com for Deals, Jimmy!
It sounds like there will have to be some scalling of the main game to account for this new level cap. Here's hoping we see some level 69 Ass Kicking Skags soon.
I'm a little dissapointed they didn't put this out this week while we are all waiting for Reach, we're gonna be knee deep in the Reach still when this comes out I think... We'll see. More info coming soon!
[UPDATE Sep 7, 2010]
From an employee at the Gearbox forums:
Sorry guys. I was totally exhausted last night after PAX but now I'm on a plane (with Wifi!) and have time to clarify.
-People who do not own Knoxx will have a level cap of 58
-People who do own Knoxx will have a level cap of 69
The main game and DLC's will scale with level. The gear will scale.. Com Decks will be similar though to DLC3 as their item levels are different from others.
Main game and DLC require quests to be completed before enemies begin to scale. Most players will have already completed these when they get to that point.
Crawmermax will also scale to the new cap.
So yes if you play the main Borderlands game and you are 69.. the enemies will scale to 69
I'm almost as excited for this patch as I am for the DLC... More loot!
[UPDATE Sep 28]
Here's the trailer... No word on the patch yet.

One of my personal most highly anticipated games right now, is inFAMOUS 2. I got a chance to sit down and play the recent demo. You know, that same one from the video that was released last week.
When I saw inFAMOUS 2 on display and playable at CES over the weekend I was ready to pound it. I love that gameplay video that was released last week. I've seen it like 5 times. I saw that the floor demo was the same thing, I knew I was gonna be able to PWN. Special thanks to Joe Castagno from Sony for being totally smooth while we filmed him talking about inFAMOUS 2. Joe knew everything about the game and was very informative.
Needless to say, demo railed. Here's the highlights:
0:15 Joe Castagno explains inFAMOUS 2
0:31 goukijones begins the gameplay demo
1:05 goukijones gets hit
1:10 goukijones asks if there is a Block or a Counter
1:14 Joe says not for this demo
2:08 Doesn't seem to be a smooth transisition here
2:13 goukijones asks about inFAMOUS 2 release date
2:17 Official Sony Release Date repsonse

Finally the street date for the US & UK release for Star Wars The Old Republic. Could it be perfect timing considering all the great releases these next couple of months?
Finally after what seems like SWTOR has been in development longer than Duke Nukem Forever, we have a solid release date.
It's official. Now I already pre-ordered because I'm not a Jimmy. Allegedly, I will get earlier access then the rest of you nuabs. So this is a perfect release date, I think. It's long after after all of the major release come out and right at the start of the Winter dead zone. From about the 20th of December until everyone goes back to work and school that first week in January, nothing happens in the world of video games.
Expect to see me on The Old Republic. Leave a comment on this story, if you want to party up. We can rule the galaxy, Gouki Guild style.
You can PRE-ORDER from amazon, get early access and get some colored stone or something for your lightsaber. lol. Irrelevant!
A special night for Street Fighter.
Tonight in Las Vegas, Capcom will be holding it's Fight Club event featuring Super Street Fighter 4. So far all we know is that everyone will be playable except the unnannounced Third Strike characters and the yet to be revealed Hakan. There are going to be a lot of camera's, so expect to see lots of footage hitting the web tonight and tomorrow.
If you would like to watch live streaming of the event, it will start here at 7 p.m. PST and for you people on the eastside, that's 10 p.m. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/unity-events
It will be a good chance for members of the community to do some more testing with Adon, Cody and Guy, as well as see what balance changes have happened to the rest of the cast since the Fight Club event in New York went down a few months back.Read full story...
