Demon's Souls was a huge success by From Software. Looking to capitalize on this new "Extreme Difficulty Genre" Dark Souls is a spiritual successor. Now you can hunt down other people online as the Black Knight with a new gameplay feature. E3 2011
Well I hated Demon's Souls Jimmy there's no denying that. Back then though I had no idea exactly what the game was. I played it, shit I reviewed it. (Demon’s Souls is Stupid’s Shits) Rei Puerto talks it up all the time, not sure if he ever beat it though. One guy I saw beat it, had that famous speed run on YouTube. I'm calling tool assisted, but it is unconfirmed.
This video is from E3 2011, some nubfarm is playing the Dark Knight. The first parts are just to get you warmed up. The game looks and sounds amazing. Now that I know what Dark Souls is and how it's supposed to be played, I still don't want to play it. But for you Jimmys who are into this stuff, check out this Exclusive E3 2011 Dark Souls Black Kinight Gameplay Off Screen Video.

Exclusive: I spent about an hour hanging out with the HalfBrick crew at E3. I ate a lot of their sandwiches and played 3 of their newest games. Fruit Ninja PC, Kinect Fruit Ninja and Machine Gun Jetpack. E3 2011.
This is what Fruit Ninja for PC looks like. (Gouki logo not included.)
This is going to be huge on Facebook. The leader board resets weekly so Jimmys is gonna be passing out some 2:00 in the mornings on a Sunday trying to catch Duncan Curtis. That guy in first place, I played him. Cheatin'! God mode.
The game is Fruit Ninja, fruit flies up into the air and you cut it with your mouse. It's simple, it's fun, it should addict with no problem.Read full story...

Team Gouki hit up the Bastion at E3. Check out my hands on time with the co-founder of Super Giant Games, Davin Simon. He destroys the demo right on front of me and I got some of on video. Plus FnJimmy's official take.
I just learned of Bastion while at E3. I love hunting, gathering, leveling up type games. FnJimmy says "It's like Final Fantasy Tactics." I think he means, because of the squares. Bastion is a Summer of Arcade XBLA Exclusive. I stopped by the booth at a different time from FnJimmy and BatRastered. I met Gavin Simon, co-founder of Super Giant Games.
The first question I asked was if his gear changed when he got new armor and leveled up. He does not and Gavin was surprised by that question he told me. Nobody else had asked that. Okay, so maybe it's just me then, but I like seeing the gear change. Irrelevant.
Bastion looks sweet and it looks like it's going to be a hell of a value. Check out this video below, it starts off with a little FnJimmy gameplay to warm you up. Then in the third clip 0:47, Gavin shows me how to PWN with Bastion. Badass Nice.

The Gouki team paid a visit to Sega's booth at E3 2011 for a first look at Aliens: Colonial Marines in action.
Hot on the heels of the first official trailer for this game, Sega let us in to see an early build of Aliens: Colonial Marines being played by the Gearbox staff and hosted by non other than Randy Pitchford, CEO of Gearbox Software.
When asked when the game takes place in the Alien universe, Pitchford stated that he considers this the "true sequel to Aliens", which brought cheers from those assembled for this demo. We soon found ourselves in Hadley's Hope searching for survivors and clues as to what happened during the events of the Aliens movie. The level of detail even in this early build was quite impressive. Fans will clearly recognize the blueprints of the building and the labs housing the face-suckers. Things quickly turn dark for our band of marines as the sounds coming from the motion tracker become more urgent. Alien xenomorphs soon begin emerging from the ceiling air vents, taking many of your squadmates out in the process. The aliens move all along the ceiling and walls as easily as the floors, and they move quickly. You will really need to have your head on a swivel if you wish to keep it attached in this game! Better yet, bring some backup; Aliens: Colonial Marines supports 4 player co-op. As Pitchford announced this feature, a second Gearbox employee joined the demo. Much like Gearbox's recent hit, Borderlands, the additional player simply popped into existence and a message appeared on the screen stating that "player 2 had joined your party". Nothing was mentioned of this, but I noticed that the second player had some custom looking artwork on their armour hinting perhaps and some level of player customization.
Most of the action was standard FPS stuff, move from point A to point B and have a firefight, but along the way the engine showed off some survival horror effects (exploding lights, face-suckers throwing themselves at the inside of their glass cage towards you with the accompanying music queue) and other events like random marines being gruesomely dealt with by the aliens. We weren't shown any items other than the motion scanner, but we did get to see a few weapons including the pulse rifle and sentry turret.
Seal the door!
After the marines had decided to take a last stand, a giant firefight broke out, culminating in the alien queen bashing through the door and ending the demo with an ominous fade to black.
For those worried that an Aliens game can't live up to the hype, let me tell you that Pitchford and his Gearbox staff were visibly excited to be making this game, and very much knew their stuff about the Aliens universe. Pitchford was shouting out movie quotes throughout the demo, and mentioned that they had the chance to work with many people and assets from the film.
In addition a version of the game will make its way to the WiiU after its launch. While we don't know specifics on the WiiU version, it is easy to imagine a motion tracker on the controller screen. Pitchford would only say that Gearbox was proud to be one of the early recipients of the developer kit for the WiiU.
Aliens: Colonial Marines ships out Spring 2012 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Team Gouki got a chance to play the new and improved GoW3 horde mode at Microsoft's E3 2011 booth. -Updated- FnJimmy's official take on horde mode video
E3 day 3, FnJimmy and I bolted at the opening striaght to the Gears of War demo. As we were standing in line, the Microsoft guys were passing around these giant cards of what to expect in the new Horde mode.
Check out FnJimmy's quick iPhone grab of the card:
If you can't read that (good luck) here's what we saw and played...
You start off by selecting an area to defend, we started in the hotel lobby. There are a bunch of glowing spots where you can set up fortifications such as barbed wire, turrets, and decoys. These slow down or even take out Locust as they try to make their way into the lobby, making them easy pickings for you. These fortifications aren't free, however. You need cash to set them up. You start off with a limited amount of cash, but you rack it up by killing enemies and completing any bonus objectives that pop up (these will require you to leave the relative safety of the fortified area usually, so watch out). In between rounds, you can purchase new fortifications, repair old ones, and get new weapons. Every 10th round is a boss wave... we had to fight this thing.
Unfortunately, you can't just lay down fortifications where you want, Gears has spots chosen for you. It's ok, but I expected a little better from the game that started this horde mode craze. Still, it's a lot of fun to build up your defenses and rail a bunch of Locust, especially when the big baddies come along.
We still haven't got a chance to see the campaign yet, but we did see the new limited edition Xbox 360 (with custom sounds!). Check this bad boy out...
Yeah... that's pretty sweet. I think it looks better than the Halo Reach edition. (We here at Gouki.com are especially fond of the red & black color scheme.)
Gears of War 3 and the Limited edition GoW3 console release Sep 20, 2011
Try not to laugh. I played the first FF13 all the way to disc 3 and I got to the "open world" part. Then I put it on the shelf and eventually mailed it to Blazemanx.
I couldn't help, but laugh a little bit when this trailer ended. I haven an appointment to see this game at E3 2011. Hopefuly I don't get banned from the Square Enix booth. Again, I'll try any Final Fantasy once.

A video taken from E3, showing Hwo, Sagat and character select screen. Also other videos from Capcom Unity.
Hwoarang is my favorite Tekken character so when they did his teaser reveal, my hype exploded (also since Juri is my main, the possibility of having both of them is delightful!). http://www.youtube.com/user/GamingTrendVideos2 has been awesome enough to get a vid of him in action a long with Sagat, enjoy.
So what do you think? It's cool that they implemented his Flamingo Stance. Unfortunately the guy playing just got...destroyed and didn'[t do much of anything cool. But Hwo looks like hes having really good pokes in this game and his jump properties look just like Juri's , lol.
Sagat on the other hand is looking like Sagat. The King lives on ;)
(Yea I know there are 2 videos. At my friend's house, no matter what browser I choose this keeps happening)
UPDATE: http://www.youtube.com/user/CapcomUnityVideos Uploaded 2 new videos with awesome team combos, inlcuding Sagat, Julia, Cammy and Hwo.

Is this the next Left for Dead or something more?
Dead Island seems to be a new survial take on zombies. Since it takes place in a Island, players must make maintain health, weapan and stamina balance. For instance, if you throw a knife, you better pick it up, chances are, you won't find another one soon. Like what you see? Let us know!
And here are some artwork from the team
E3 just hurt Nintendo
So here's how it goes. Nintendo shows us the Wii U, the next day thier stock drops 5 percent. The next day it drops another 5 percent. For those of you who struggle with math that's a 10 percent drop in just 2 days. The stock hasn't been this low since before the Wii 5 years ago.
I personally lost faith in nintendo when they made the N64, I hated that thing. I got my start with games back on the NES and still love it. Then the SNES had some incredible games. But the N64 had a control that I didn't like and a ton of kids games. So I became a Sony guy. But they still own the rights to some great characters. So for years I've joked that they need to just stick to games and forget these consoles that I'm not a fan of. But I'ld rather have to play a Wii than lose the characters completely.
And I am sure that investors were looking for something big out of E3, but the Wii U just wasn't what they wanted. This doesn't really hurt the company but it might serve as a wake-up call. The 3DS has not done anywhere near as well as they expected. What do you think about this? Is there someway for Nintendo to win you back? Or are you not bothered by any of this?

Gouki.com got a demonstration of the Furious 4 that is a radical departure from past Brothers in Arms games.
Gearbox software has been busy. Not only have they resurrected the Duke, but they've been working on an Aliens game and this new take on the Brothers in Arms universe. Randy Varnell of Gearbox assures us that we haven't seen the last of Matt Baker, the company will make a return to the traditional Brothers in Arms WWII shooter in "the future"... whenever that is, we'll let you know. In the meantime, enjoy this trailer of the Furious 4.
Furious 4 will be a four player co-operative shooter with skill upgrades (think Borderlands, in fact I'm pretty sure I saw the logo for Mordecai's Fast Hands skill in there). Unlike Borderlands, teammates don't just pop in and out of the world, instead there are individual missions at the end of which you and your cohorts will be given a summary of the destruction you've caused. Inquiries as to whether there will be a competitive multiplayer as well were met with "no comment".
The four characters have different skills, for instance Montana (the heavy gunner of the group) had a bear trap that would ensnare enemies temporarilly, allowing your teammates to pick them off. The trap could be upgraded to include a grenade, for even more fun and destruction.
To be sure, Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 was not what we were expecting and it's not a direct sequel to the previous games, it's more of an alternate universe take on the series. That said, Furious 4 is looking like fun so far. Stay tuned to Gouki.com for updates as we hear more about this game.
Here is the full press release:
