Sometimes I get drunk, play some old ass game and then try to write about it. Spelling might be correct, but grammar and subject matter has no bounds. Read with caution. Today's game - Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic
First of all, why is the screen square? And WTF is a black and white button? The initial character set up is streamlined perfectly and is lusting with excellent game design. I named my girl NubnubDaRere, that name sounds just like a Star Wars name, if you say it real fast. Then Combat is introduced right away, I choose melee style and solider class. It is my destiny to become the ultimate Jedi warrior. I WILL become a dual lightsaber master.
I skip through every conversation as fast as I can, consistently being as cruel and evil as possible. I keep my inventory list very tight, I know exactly what I have and what I need. Armor, lightsabers and all of my tech is maxed out constantly. I have the maximum amount of grenades(all types) with me at all times. And you fuckin' better believe my Medpacs are stacked up as well. I'm not talking about the Jimmy ass Medpacs either.
Does anyone know how to fix this square ass screen? The graphics are amazing still to this day. The game looks great and there's tons of detail throughout. The cut-scenes are all rendered in-game. Knights of the Old Republic is an industry changer and became bigger than the name of Star Wars itself. Something that eventually evolved into Mass Effect and hopefully one day The Old Republic MMO. If you have never played KOTOR, then you fucked up big time some where in your life.

Random sites and even Major Nelson say the pre-order has been announced for Duke Nukem Forver ... Where's the beef?
Duke Nukem release date still not official, demo still unannounced
BatRastered spotted it earlier in the day on some random site. Duke Nukem Forver pre-order has been announced and the release date is February 1st 2011.
That's right, that's what Amazon says. Even though, it's still the fake box art. That pre-order page also says: "Official pricing and release date have not been announced by the publisher. These are estimates only and subject to change."

I was hoping for a smooth mech combat game with less RTS or RPG from the previous Front Mission games. Uhhhhh, I don't know what Front Mission Evolved is supposed to be.
To start off on a good note, I would have to say that the best feature in Front Mission Evolved is the sound. Very articulate and distinct sounds effects for each mech and or weapon fired make for everything sounding like the Transformers movies. That's okay with me. The graphics are real stale however, buildings blow up in uncoordinated chunks of concrete and cars just explode with the slightest touch. City details don't have anything really special about them. You can shoot up the giant TV monitors, but your weapons won't even leave a mark on the billboards.
Gameplay is where it all falls apart. The mech building and coloring is cool, but with only a few selections to start off with for the first couple of missions, it's just trial and error. Do you want to fight close range or long range? Doesn't really matter in the game. You can also paint your mech different colors and stuff. I don't care about painting my mechs or dressing up my armor clad alien war machines. I've said this plenty of times before. If I want to get creative in a game, I'll go play ModNation Racers. My mech ended up looking like a camouflaged Christmas tree.
Controls in Front Mission Evolved are nothing special either. I was a big fan of both Mech Assault games, the controls were intuitive and the combat was ultra smooth. With Front Mission Evolved, I was straining my wrist to get the mech to turn around fast enough to shoot the enemy in any direction. Very clunky controls and this is the reason I was not enjoying the game. Then after a few missions, the game switches to a foot mode. That's right, you are no longer in a mech at this point and the mission continues with you as a human running around. The controls for the human missions were all swapped around. Having to learn two control schemes for one shooting game, doesn't make sense. I played a little of this level and I haven't played it since. Honestly, I'll probably never play it again. There is absolutely no drive for me to play
Front Mission Evolved. Flush it!
My boy ComboBreakah posted the first 15 minutes of the game on youtube. Check out his channel. Sounds effects and story seem to get off to a good start. I just can't bare to see that combat.

A three minute look at the new patch for FFXIV coming March 27.
I can't wait to see what level of weapons and gear we'll be getting in this patch.

SugarNinja and GoukiJones aka Avitas Sibannac recently retired their FFXIV characters and recorded walkthroughs of their mansions...
SugarNinja’s crowning achievement in the game was owning a large mansion. She did it! She also put an incredible amount of time in the game all the way up until just the last patch. She had multiple jobs at 70 and was a max level Summoner who beat everything in the game except the savage. I didn’t do savage either. Seemed impossible to do with 7 people - randoms sometimes - and it just wasn’t something I wanted to practice for 4 months with people just to beat 1 fight.Read full story...
SNK brings back one of its old school fighters in KOF 13!
Siliconera reported that Famitsu has confirmed Billy Kane as a playable character for the console version of King of Fighters XIII. I was always fond of billy back in the old fatal fury days. Im happy to see that he has made the cut. Hopefully this means we can expect a few more console exclusive characters? Im really looking forward to this game when it drops this holiday season. I'll try to keep you guys posted with the latest news on this game. Let us know what you think and don't be a jimmy.
The old school '92 classic beat 'em up has returned. Is it worth your money? Find out in the Gouki.com Review. Welcome to Die!
If I could describe the X-men Arcade game in one word it would be Disappointment.
Why you ask? Well I'll tell you why. I fondly remember going to the Arcade in San Diego California as a kid. Playing all sorts of games, blowing my hard earned money on good games, bad games, broken games (still pissed about those) and the best arcade games around. Back in the early '90s the top arcade games for me where the Beat 'Em Ups. The Simpsons Game, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and who could forget the X-men Arcade game. Many of us had the 4-player cabinets in our local arcades, but some of us where lucky enough to have 6-player action at our fingertips... and just for a quarter (I miss those days).
I would spend hours beyond hours every week playing the X-men Arcade game. Meeting new people every time and having a blast. So I was stoked to find out that Konami was bringing this childhood classic back. At 800 MSP or $10 PSN I was sold. I bought this baby yesterday and to my surprise I was severely disappointed.
The game is exactly as I remember it, which is the problem. After 18 years I was expecting Konami to release an updated version, not just a smoothing filter. I wanted to have a remade X-men Arcade with updated sounds, graphics, and gameplay. Now I am not the person who hates the classics, or thinks they aren’t fun. My problem is that they could have had two games in one. X-men Arcade Classic, and a revamped version as well.
You have the choice between two version of X-men Arcade, USA and Japan. The Japanese version is better than the USA version solely because when you use a Mutant Power in the USA version it drains your life meter before using your energy orb. The Japanese version is the other way around. The USA version is much more difficult which would be a great challenge had the game had some sort of continue system. Instead you have unlimited lives, and can basically just spam Mutant Powers the entire time. Sure they take away your life energy, but who cares you can’t lose. Even online play has infinite continues. There is no way to change it either. So basically unless you’re like me and really want to try and relive the classic, you’ll try not to spam Mutant Powers.
My first play through was solo, and I beat it in 30 minutes. I spent $10 only to be jerked around for 30 minutes. This game welcomed me to die alright; I wanted to end my life and the game after playing it. The character selection is how you remember it, you can choose from; Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Colossus, Night Crawler, and The Dazzler (yes she is a real X-men) each character has his/her own Mutant Power. Cyclops shoots laser beams from his eyes, Storm strikes her enemies with lightning, Wolverine slashes his claws at his enemies (lamest Mutant Power), Colossus goes into rage and destroys enemies surrounding him, Night Crawler teleports across the screen and destroys anyone in his path, and The Dazzler who uses sound frequencies to destroy her enemies.
For the most part of the game you are fighting your way through sentinel after sentinel with a few other enemies here and there. There are also eight boss characters, Pyro, Blob, Wendigo, Nimrod, The White Queen, Juggernaut, Mystique and of course Magneto. Each boss is basically a push over save Magneto. As one falls after another you move onto a new level. The story of this game is basically Magneto threatens the city with his army of sentinels and Kidnaps Professor X and Kitty Pryde. It’s up to the X-men to Go and Save the City as well as rescue X and Kitty.
It’s a pretty simple game, only using 3 buttons; Attack, Jump, and Mutant Power, which makes for an easy to pick up and play game. Online play is done well, with the option of playing 6-player drop in drop out co-op with relatively no lag. The only issue here is even on expert difficulty, 6 players can run through the game in under 15 minutes. It’s really hard to suggest spending $10 for such a short time of play.
While the X-men Arcade game is still a great classic in my heart, this new version is just plagued with not adding anything new to the game in 18 years. I had fun playing it, but I think it’s a waste of $10 Jimmys. Buy it if you’re a huge fan and have to get your hands on it, but for the rest of you out there just Demo it
Bottom Line: Demo It!

Goldsmith I think is 1 of the fastest & cheapest ways to level up a Disciple of the Hand in Final Fantasy XIV. Raw materials are cheap & can be turned into very expensive items. All you need is patience & knowledge of your crafter catalog
I had to move right away because I didn't like that guys ass in my shot in the video. lol.
You can see I'm only synthing with HQ raw Silver Ore. This already gives me a boost of quality. Almost half. I do this because you can collect cheap Silver Ore for a few a days. Then when you have a stack you start to craft. (I know I keep saying this, but it's 1 of my favorite strategies.)
Don't even try to get crazy with any of my crafting techniques until you have Tricks of Trade & Careful Synthesis. I live by those 2 while crafting & they are constantly used.
Step 1: Pop Inner Quiet. ESPECIALLY if you have Rumination. (Carpenter level 15)
Step 2: Look to see if Tricks of the Trade is available.
Step 3: Use Steady Hand.
Step 4: Use Standard Touch. Stop to get any Tricks of Trades that pop up.
Step 5: Use Master's Mend when you are down to 10 Durability. Watch for Tricks of the Trade.
At this point everything depends on how much CP you have left. Use Steady hand if you can, even if you only have enough for 1 Standard Touch afterwards. Remember Tricks of the Trade can pop up anytime & you might get 2 shots. Or get just enough CP to use Standard Touch of Basic Touch.
You can always use Rumination at the end if you need just a little more CP, it's a great back up.
Final Step: Use Careful Synthesis to finish the synth. If you know Careful Synthesis & Basic Synthesis will both get the job done in less than 2 turns, USE CAREFUL SYNTHESIS in finish. IT'S Guaranteed.
Hope you make a lot of HQ & Gil. Good luck.
Thanks for reading. Don't be a Jimmy.
