We've all done it once or twice. Maybe not at all. But in this story, we look at the very unique methods of trash talking and trolling xD That's right. We're going there. Find out how effective even words can be to crippling your opponents will to win.

Trash talking goes as far back as competition. When we first decided to compete to become the best and thus therefore decided there was a more menacing way to break your opponent by getting into his mind. It is more devious, and sometimes more effective to diminish your opponent's will to fight. It makes them easier to defeat. Sometimes, ability in itself is more than enough to wittle down the opponent's will. Otherwise there's trash talking.

But what's an effective way to do it? How do you stay classy while maintaining just enough oomph in your words to bring down your opponent's will? It's not for everybody, but there are many ways. Trash talking happens more often than ever among friends and the most common way to do it is by using an embarrassing detail about them. A silly family nickname, a memory of an embarrassing moment, or even how they're doing in the game.

Another method, more in tuned to fighting someone you only just met, is by questioning them on their plays xD "Are you sure you want to do that?" "Oh I see, yeah, mhm, no no you're fine.....but you know.." They start to doubt themselves. They start to think, start to question. Although you should normally show respect to a new opponent, this is another way of trash talking.

Now, a more direct method is improvise. Notice them getting angry because they dropped a combo or missed a shot? Use that. "Aww too bad, what's the matter playa? Where's your swag?" Careful how you go about it because this has been known to start a few fights more than the norm xD

Finally, lets look at the ever elaborate trolling. If trash talking ever evolved, it would be into trolling. It comes in many shapes and forms. Ono, one of the main producers of the Street Fighter series is known to troll for a living. Always teasing and provoking reactions of Street Fighter fans when trying to keep them interested in what is to come. So much in fact that a code for Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition was leaked, ultimately bringing him great trouble with the hype ups.

In a more recent example, a combination of trash talking and trolling was made. Daigo Umehara, champion of the world in Street Fighter, made a video challenging the American players in MVC3. This is perhaps the most prime example to date. The very video itself upset many players. But why? Simple, players now are beginning to doubt their own ability. It is exactly what Daigo wants. Because Marvel vs Capcom 3 isn't his game, Street Fighter is. So what is he doing? Trash talking, trolling, knowing his history will diminish their morale, because if he can wittle their will to fight, they will become easier to defeat.

In conclusion, the one true method to defeating any of this, is you. Only you have the power to against all odds, all words, snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Because no matter how elaborate or intimidating, words or trash talking or trolling can be, nothing and I mean nothing, speaks louder than actions.
