The Las Vegas Sun has never heard of Street Fighter

By: BatRastered Oct 29, 2011 | 1057 Views | 4 Comments

I saw this in my local paper's section on celebrity Halloween costumes. Huge sad face.

Most were celebrities I haven't heard of dressing up as sexy versions of disney cartoons, but then this caught my eye.

The Las Vegas Sun has never heard of Street Fighter

If you can't read it, the caption reads:

"Electro pop duo LMFAO arrived as The Hulk and what appears to be a sushi chef at Veuve Clicquot’s Yelloween at Lavo in the Palazzo."

Really? The hulk and a sushi chef? Sushi chefs wear karate gis now? SMH.

Here's the source, so you know I'm not making this up... http://www.lasvegassun.com/news/2011/oct/29/halloween-excuse-really-dress/

Skullgirls has revealed another character.

By: DragonKiss83 Sep 2, 2011 | 368 Views | 1 Comments

Skullgirls has been generating a ton of hype in the fighting community, are you ready for some more?

Today Playstation Blog has brought us Ms Fortune, the newest Skullgirl to be revealed.

Her story involves a heist gone wrong that ends with her being chopped into bits.  But a special artifact let her live through it so now she can use her detachable body parts for weapons.  And she is looking like the first character that I want to play as.  Although the "mummy/nurse girl they have shown in some fan art could give her some competition.

The all female roster will start with 8 characters.  5 have official reveals and another shows up on the blog a lot.  But in the source story they also confirm future DLC and that there will be a male presence.   With Konami on board this is looking like a must download gave if I've ever seen one.  Still no release date yet though, so we will have to wait for the chance to get it on PSN and Xbox Marketplace.  But they are still putting major work into the game to be sure it lives up to the dreams that were brought together to make the game.

So who is hype for the game?  Anyone try it yet?  I've watched streams and videos as they pop up and so far I'm impressed.  Be sure to check out some of the other great stories here on gouki.com  including an exclusive interview.

Frank West and Strider in MvC3?

By: iorilamia Mar 5, 2011 | 833 Views | 14 Comments

Could it be true? Check out the picture and decide.

Was browsing Twitter and commentator/player/Lawyer Ultra David posted a link showing Strider and Frank West on a team. The pic also shows a part of Striders body. Looks real, just as "real" as that Bison pic (and that was very convincing). Are these characters soon to come? Or is it all fake , even back to the Bison picture? Leave a comment on what you think and want.

I HOPE Frank is in this game *_* , been jonesing for him to return since TvC!

XCOM secret kitchen preview @ E3 2010

By: goukijones Jun 22, 2010 | 864 Views | 4 Comments

In a secret kitchen hidden inside the Los Angeles convention center we watch a demo of XCOM with studio director Martin Slater.

Xcom is a classic computer game, that what I think most of the Jimmys that made the original Bioshock are trying to remake. So for me this is a no brainer. I loved the first Bioshock, I think it is one of the best games of all time. So we sit down right in the front of the room and take a swig from my soda bottle, Jimmy! Wink wink. Matrin Slater was standing up front, BatRastered and I quickly introduced ourselves and exchanged business cards. Martin was totally laid back and knew a lot about the preview we were watching, he guided us through.

I have seen this video before, or clips of it or something. It’s not bad. The graphics seem very rough and you can tell it’s an early build. The setting is like Bioshock on land, during the day. The game is very ominous with various things scurrying about trying to give you a scare. Black blobs of static electricity to be honest. The action scene takes place inside a house where the black static blobs are attacking a family and you need to go in and kill everything. When it’s time to leave a giant alien rectangular cube appears and turns into a donut looking object.*see video* At this point the donut looking object begins blasting away and sucking up debris all around you. The demo ends with you escaping.

I want to play this game, there is no doubt. I think it’s going to be very deep. The world map was shown for a few moments during the demo and you could clearly see that you options for different things to do at this point across the United States.

The original XCOM games were tactical and strategic, I hope this game incorporates something similar and makes a unique FPS. If you don’t believe me about the secret kitchin thing, check out this picture of me and the fridge.

Yes this photo was taken during an actual alien abduction. Look at my face. This game is serious.
