If there is one thing that Sam Fisher isn’t, it’s a marksman. Manual aiming sucks.

I’ve played the first four or five stages of the story mode at this point. Just finished the dodging the helicopter shooting at you mission and I’m still working out some of the controls. The controls have a very steep learning curve and shooting the guns doesn’t come across simple at all during the first few stages. Even after upgrading some guns with better accuracy and sights and scopes, nothing. I still struggled with the controls. Good thing there’s this new automatic pwn[Mark and Execute] that Sam can do where he can’t miss targets that are marked with this new system. The Mark and Exucute system kind of makes it a little easier, but is necessary when ten Jimmys are coming around the corner looking for you.

The graphics are real rough, I just don’t feel there’s that much advancement here. The lighting is good, but when it switches to black and white it’s really hard to tell where the light IS at that point. By the way I know a lot of people are complaining about the black and white deal while you’re in the shadows. Hello?! Jimmy? Other Splinter Cell games had you in night vision dark green and light green for half of the game. I think this is a good new twist for the sneaking around, but still needs a little work.

I’ve played through the first level of the co-op where you and a “friend” go through levels set up like the single player. Not too much sneaking around in the first level though, it’s more of who can raip the next Jimmy in front of them and do it before your partner. The beginning of the second level is very challenging, but extremely fun. I enjoyed either being caught or seeing my partner get caught and just talking shit. You gotta have friends to play this mode and I highly recommend someone with a lot of patience and a good sense of humor.

Right now Splinter Cell Conviction has me coming back. After I beat the single player mode, go through a couple more co-op missions and dabble with the multiplayer … I think it’ll be hard for me to find a reason to play more. Especially with this season of gaming in front of me, I just won’t have time. Don't be a Jimmy! I'll post a full review soon.

The game is alright so far. Smashing the dudes up during interrogation is always fun. I'm not much into stealth games but this one makes the stealth fun. I've only started on it so I still have to play the rest and then send it on back to Gamefly.

You sound sober in this review.

I considered getting this, but with 3D Dot Heroes and Alan Wake around the corner, I'd definitely going to have to pass on it for a while.
