Evo has always been the tournament to attend if you wanted to be big. But CEO has come together with the support of EVO to be the next in line of massive competitive play.
CEO is a tournament organization much similar Evo. Originated by Alex Jebaley, a high tier tournament player, he began to organize tournaments throughout the Florida over the last few years. From local tournaments at restaurants like Cafe Alma in St. Petersburg Florida, to arcades located in Orlando as well as hotels. One such occasion included an IMAX screen. At last year's CEO Winter Park Tournament in Orlando, many people showed up looking to take home 1st place including Flash Metroid, CJ Truth, Puerto Bronx, and Alex Jebailey himself who organized the tournament.
After the success of the tournament, Alex Jebailey set out to create a tournament that would rival EVO. But he knew that it would foolish to compete against a tournament organization of that magnitude, so instead he enlisted their help. As a result, Alex successfully created a tournament worthy of being the brotherly rival of EVO. A 3 day gaming convention with gamers from all over the world coming to compete for cash and prizes. Venues of 18,000 square feet at the Wyndham Orlando Resort. Casual players will also be pleased to know that there will be many Casual Gaming Stations there to play the latest fighting games. In addition, there will also be Arcade Cabinets with past installments courtesy of DJ Delly. There will be Event Badges for sale as well as Spectator Badges for those who wish to bring their friends and family to watch the hyped up chaos. There will also be a Door Prize Raffle. The main video games for the tournaments include Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition, Marvel vs Capcom 3, Mortal Kombat 9, Tekken 6, Soul Calibur, Arcana Heart 3, Blaze Blue Continuum Shift 2, Super Smash Bros. BRAWL, as well as other touranaments that include classics such as HDR, CvS2, and 3rd Strike.
The tournament itself is set for June 10-12 in Orlando Florida. To give you an in-depth idea of how massive this tournament will be, I've included a few videos with the tournment's host himself, Alex Jebailey. If there was ever another tournment to attend, aside from EVO ouf course, it would be CEO 2011 Fighting Game Championships.
