I know some people have probably been wondering where I've been lately. Well, I'm here to give you all the dirt.
So a few of you might have wondered what I've been up to lately, right? ...okay, so maybe not, but I'm here to give everyone an update on what I've been up to gaming-wise, and why I've been slow posting.
Firstly, I've been playing a crapload of Infamous lately, and I'm hoping to be at a point in the game where I can write a review by next weekend. Well, that's if Final Fantasy XIII doesn't put me into a temporary coma state where nobody hears from me and thinks I died for a couple weeks. Anyways, Infamous - yeah, I'm loving it so far, but it's not without its flaws that I'll discuss at what I anticipate to be great lengths when I get around to the review.
I've also been playing some of my old PS1 games looking for an awesome new Retro Review, and I think I've found one in a hidden gem called Guardian's Crusade. I'm about five hours into it right now, so it might take me a little while, but you can expect that to hit the site soon enough.
Let's see...what else have I been playing on and off? Well, there's Just Cause for 360, Mercenaries 2 for PS3, I just picked up Jade Empire today - say, I've beat it three times in the past; maybe I'll pop that in tonight, get a fresh feel for it, and try to get a review up tomorrow - and a hidden Xbox gem called Call of the Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth (I've not yet played it, but it's on the Xbox, it's made by Bethesda, and it's based on HP Lovecraft mythos, so I'm prepared to be blown away). Oh yeah, and I got Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops the other day, and I've been at that off and on as well.
So I figure I'll use a little bit of this space to talk about what I'm anticipating in 2010. Well, I'm obvious expecting Final Fantasy XIII to rock; it's Final Fantasy, and it's next gen; I'm hoping to do a review of it, although [GoukiJones] is probably planning one as well, so you'll probably be getting two different opinions about it. What else am I anticipating? Well, Alan Wake is shaping up to be great, and I'm especially psyched about it since the developers cite Stephen King as a story inspiration. Red Dead Redemption looks tight, although it's definitely not a day-one purchase for me. 3D Dot Heroes looks freaking epic, and with a measly $40 launch price, I'll easily find some way to get my hands on it and bring all the fine Gouki readers a review. Splinter Cell: Conviction still looks kind of "leave it to me for now, but they've still got a little bit of time to show me something awesome and change my mind. After Infamous, the Retro Review, and Final Fantasy XIII, I'm thinking about hitting Hollywood Video and renting a copy of Heavy Rain to review, because it looks like it could be really interesting and different. Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver is probably going to be something I get before the end of the year, although not a day-one. Metroid: Other M and Super Mario Galaxy 2 might both be rentals for me, so we'll just have to see what happens there. Just Cause really surprised me with its quality, so Just Cause 2 might be in my cards by the end of the year. Then there's that new Tri-Ace/Sega game, Resonance of Fate, for me to think about getting. And, on top of all that, we have to see what E3 brings! It's a jam-packed year, and it's only just getting started. Like Bachman Turner Overdrive said, "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet".
I'll spare you with my college stories, but that's what's been keeping me so slow posting lately. I'm spending over fourty hours each week right now at college or working on college assignments, so it's taking its toll on me and my gaming schedule. But needless to say, you can rest assured I'm still around, and I'll be here soon enough with the reviews you've come to expect from me. In the meantime, I'll probably scope out an occasiona news story and post it on here to keep all you readers entertained and to remind you guys that I'm still alive and kicking.
