Jill Gameplay in Marvel vs Capcom 3

Alzmer posted a gameplay video of Jill Valentine, the first character from the DLC Pack with Shuma-Gorath. This video comes from a hacked version off the PS3 leading us to believe that these characters are on disc and just waiting to be unlocked.

"This was a relatively simple hack. I decrypted the PS3 version's executable file, changed some variables around, and replaced Viewtiful Joe with Jill. I then re-encrypted the executable and made a quick modification to the game-data MvC3 installs onto the PS3. (Namely, changed a parameter so that the game would treat the modified executable as though it were a patch.) After a bit more tweaking and poking at the game files, I successfully loaded her into the character select screen. (And yes, she's completely playable, albeit at the expense of losing Viewtiful Joe.)

Those who got special edition how do you feel? Where is the early access to these dlc characters. They are on the disc and not available for a whole month? What gives? Tell us what you think in the comments. Don't be a Jimmy!

They are on disc because of the rush. They did the same thing to shuma. The characters are pretty incomplete and we get the full version update with the dlc. Honestly she looks like a combo beast! A lot of people are complaining that she isn't mvc2 Jill, but shes styling :D

Iori has it right, there is missing audio and stuff. But she could have been finished easy enough. Capcom is all about the $$$. But as consumers become more educated they are going to star losing a lot of fans. They may have franchises that people have followed for years, but people are getting pissed. I hope that they start taking care of thier fans instead of just padding their wallets.

The thing is, people are going to WANT to buy it. Without the characters the game feels incomplete and it's harder to figure out how fight against them. The upside is that $5 a char is pretty cheap (compared to other games). What we have to keep in-mind is that if DLC characters don't go well, Capcom won't release more and more awesome characters we want, and we will end up totally missing out.

Wow nice video! I just hit play and started imagining Jill pulling off this crazy ass Hyper combo where fists, kicks, and bullets were flying like a hungry plague of locusts! I hope she turns out just the way I imagine bc the shit looks cool in my head.

The videos been pulled by Capcom. Personally, I feel that if you paid a premium for the game then the DLC should be treated as an update and be free. Capcom and other companies that are using DLC to charge for extra content should in turn release the game at a much cheaper price point. Better yet, if a game has DLC then why sell a hard copy of the game. Just sell the game for $5 for the bare bones with DLC fees and premium copy at $40 with free DLC updates for life. Either way they make a ton of profit since there is no disc manufacturing and shipping cost are zero. I don't understand what's going through the mind of the CEO's of these companies. Lets see... we can make 20% profit if we sell these games the traditional way on disc or we can make 96% profit by simply posting the game on our servers or streaming through subscription. Nah, I'd rather lose 75% of my possible revenue by not thinking like someone from this decade. Yeah, that's smart marketing strategy.
