Imagine a 3DS folded open with the 3D slider turned all the way down. Now imagine it for sale for $129. Meet the 2DS.

When I first heard the name, I thought it was fake... an Internet troll had won the day. Not so... The 2DS is real and it will hit store shelves on October 12 for $129.99. It plays all the same games as the 3DS, just not in 3D.

So here it is...

So what do you think? Is this better or worse than the clamshell 3DS? I certainly don't care for the 3D part of the 3DS as it hurts my eyes. I wonder if the battery life will be better on this model?
