Playstation 3 users rejoice! PSN is back online after 3 weeks, well sort of. Some users in specific regions are signing into the playstation network and asked to download the 3.61 update. While this is the only option right now PSN should be back up soon,

The restoration of PSN service requires a firmware update on PS3 consoles and requires users to change their passwords. Sony is also offering customers free enrollment in identity theft protection programs in countries where they are available, the company said.

Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Kazuo Hirai offered a video statement announcing the restoration of PSN services that began with an apology to users for the outage.

I went to bed at 1 am and they had the northeast area by New York and California up. That map showing all green made me smile when I checked it today.

Yeah the PS store will take a little longer, so that part sucks. But at least I can play Hot Pursuit now.

That's why I pay with PSN cards. But I'm sure that people will bitch about getting crappy games as the thank you, then it will start to fade from the boards.
