Some of the top fighting games have gone into a trend of having crazy comeback mechanics. This goes beyond your regular super move. Ultras, Red-Mode,Critical Counter and the controversial X-Factor have been relatively new. Are they good to have?
Fighting games takes lots of skill, dexterity and focus. Always generating lots of hype, fighting games are one of the most competitive genre of gaming. But what creates even more excitement are comebacks. Being almost dead and doing a epic combo or seemingly reading what your opponent will do and block/ counterattack to victory displays lots of skill or possibly luck. Comeback mechanics have been in fighting games forever but in the recent years with SF4, MvC3, Tekken 6 and KOF12 we have been exposed to some very interesting comeback factors that do require skill (some more than others) and have changed the outcome on many tournaments and casual play unexpectedly. Some of these mechanics seem reasonable, but a few may need to be altered a little. Here is what I think of them:Read full story...

Not gonna lie. I love this game.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is an updated and modernized version of Final Fantasy VII which was originally released January 31, 1997. 23 years later the story of Final Fantasy VII is still a great story to watch and even more fun to play. The characters are all very well defined and you can easily get the feels if you can’t control your emotions. Barrett - The big brutish leader of an Avalanche strike team(kinda like terrorists.) He is constantly goading Cloud with lines during fighting and after fighting. It’s not just Barrett though, Aerith also gives Cloud a hard time. In one sequence, while just running from one area to the next, Cloud explains to Aerith that she needs to stay back during fights because it is dangerous. It just so happened that Aerith died in the next fight after she got all of the agro and told Cloud after the fight “I guess they were just going after the stronger fighter.” Jeez. There are characters giving shit to Cloud and it is great, the characters are very much alive this way.
The graphics in this game are on a next level. FFVIIR goes from cutscenes right into combat seamlessly. This is a game that makes me feel like I’m playing the cutscenes of the original 1997 version. One level has you hanging from the rafters underneath a plate in Midgar. You are overlooking one of the sectors below. The slums. If I swing my camera around too fast to look over the edge, my wife will turn away. She can’t look, says she gets the feeling of extreme height. You can have your breath taken away by that view and a lot more of the scenery if you take your time and look at all of the detail. Everything is rendered perfectly to fit together.Read full story...

The all time Halo Classic...Read full story...
A new No More Heroes game...but doesn't really include new stuff. One of those hybrid 1.5 types of things.
No More Heroes is probably my favorite Wii game, and the most ridiculous story I've ever played. Unfortunately when NMH2 came around, my fan-boy hype sort of died down, and bonus didn't care for the PS3 version with Move.
But what slightly caught my intrest again was No More Heroes : Red Zone Edition. This is NMH 1 with "Z Rating" which is like, super adult content in Japan, 5 bosses from NMH2, 10 missions left out of the Wii version, Online rankings and A boss battle mode (Which I was so depressed the first one didn't have) , ps move compatible and "Forbidden View Mode" which seems like looking at the women in the game...naked.
Being a huge fan of the first one, this is exciting. I may go out and buy the second one cheap and used to get back into it. The only downside is that the game in Japan is Yen 3990, which is about $42, but a lot of time the games are more expensive after sent to the U.S and not a direct conversion of pricing. the game is to be released July 21. Any No More Heroes Fans here at Gouki? Or peple who were intrested but didn't have a Wii and didn't want to buy the PS3 port? I see this as a 1.5 version, leave a comment on what you think about the series and this upcoming release :D

Class Progression Videos for Infiltrator and Field Medic
Strange enough, even those these videos are on the US K3 site, when trying to play them it says " Not Available for US Locale" but I always use the youtube versions anyways. This time they bring us 2 videos explaining the roles, strengths and weapons of the Infiltrator and Field Medic. Even for someone who knows the game, these are still nice to watch and hopefully might persuade some more of you to purchase it ;)

If you aren't familiar with K3 , what do you think about these videos? And if you are fmiliar with it, what weapon combinations do you use for these classes/ your playstyle? Don't be a jimmy, comment below.

90% bigger screen, nicer design, better feel in hand but what's not perfect with this new version of the 3DS? Well there are a couple issues I've noticed but I'm not sure if they matter to the hardcore gamer.
- Bigger screens
- Nice feel in the hands
- Awesome for playing DS games
- Quick and responsive
- Price is good
- Controls are good and touch screen is nice.
- 3D isn't as good as I'd like on the bigger screen
- 3D video recording is blurry and hard to look at
- 3D photos are hit and miss
- Built in games suck
- Size and weight wears on the wrists.
- Doesn't come with any 3DS games
- Wi-Fi doesn't seem to connect with the net.
If you don't have a DS or a 3DS then I recommend this system but I don't think it's that much better than the others.
Below is a detailed editorial of my impressions of the system. Yes most of this is known on the standard 3DS so you may not get much insight on the system other than the physical layout and feel in the hand.
Physical body of the system:
First off, the system design and shape is pretty good with rounded corners that fit nice in the hand though the size and weight of it can be fatiguing to your wrists.
The color choices are okay, sort of like an homage to the old pokemon blue and red. It sort of makes me think of a male female color palette though.
Once you open the system you are treated to a nice layout with direction tab, analog nub, X,Y,B,A buttons and Select, Home, Start buttons at the bottom of the touch screen. The power button and lights in the lower Right corner of the control face. The R and L buttons are where they should be, volume on the left and Wi-Fi & SD card slot on the right.
On the display screen panel you have two weak speakers which I feel are not useful unless you’re in a very quiet place on the right is the 3D slider switch and the two cameras are on the back.
They changed the charger plug again making it look more like a large compact USB port. I’m wondering if they are planning to do other things with it.
The new stylus is nice and easy to use and fits nicely in the system.
It has a mic on the lower right of the touch screen and possibly one on the back of the display screen next to the two cameras
Firmware OS & built in Apps:
The OS boots up nice and quick and all the controls from the touch screen to the directional pad and buttons respond nicely.
Everything in the OS and the built in Apps run in 3D as expected and has the same Apps as in the normal 3DS. That said there are a few issues I’m having with this version of the 3DS that I didn’t see in the regular one.
The display screen is beautiful in 2D but the 3D is a little off. I think the larger the display the harder it is for your eyes to adjust. You have to hold the system farther away to get a similar 3D effect to the standard 3DS thus making the screen look smaller anyway. In 2D mode however, this system is a joy. I’m playing Chrono Trigger right now and having a blast.
The Camera App is fun and the camera itself takes okay pictures though in 3D it’s really hit or miss as to how 3D it will look. 3D video is pretty useless and hurts my eyes. You can do some fun things with it though. Running the video backwards and changing the audio pitch. All of which I believe is in the original version.
The Sound App has a few fun little Bird mimicking functions and lets you record hours of audio on your SD card. You can edit the audio by slowing it down speeding it up and changing pitch. It also has a couple of effects settings for parakeet and others.
There’s the Mii Maker, Mii Plaza for StreetPass, the eShop and other crap.
It comes with a video sample called Dinosaur Office that is cool to watch but is short and pointless.
I couldn’t get it to connect to my Wi-Fi so I couldn’t use Nintendo Zone or Download Play. I don’t know why it wont connect either. It says that it connects but then just gives errors.
The AR games look cool but like with the camera App the 3D is spotty especially when you’re moving the system around.
Face Raiders and the same issues as above.
I find it funny that the 3DS xl Operations manual is heavier than the system itself. At 314 pages long it’s a freaking novel of an instruction manual.
I haven’t yet had a chance to try an actual 3DS game on it because it doesn’t come with any.
