Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2 borrows much of its gameplay from its predecessor. The game allows players to select a team of four given characters from a larger pool of heroes and villains; team members are interchangeable and may be swapped during gameplay. General gameplay mechanics are similar to those of the X-Men Legends series. The game is played from an isometric dungeon crawl perspective, supporting up to simultaneous four players. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game also feature online play via the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live, respectively.
The power system also has been improved, allowing two characters to combine powers, yielding a new attack, known as a "fusion". Each playable character in the game has a unique fusion with every other playable character in the game. An example is Captain America using his shield to reflect Storm's lightning bolts. Players have the ability to level up characters and earn new abilities and powers. The PS3 and 360 versions feature an updated character progression system, with each character having four core powers that evolve as the character levels up. The Nintendo DS, Nintendo Wii, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable versions of the game resemble the character progression system found in the original Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 review

What the trade in value on this game right now?!

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 = MUA2 for you rehtards! Ok this game is unbelievable. Considering I was just playing that amazing Batman game last week. This is an absolutely terrible super hero game. It's just a beat 'em up, plain and simple and simple it is! The first time I played through it on Super Heroic which is the hardest difficulty you can select. The game did not challenge me at all! I beat it very quickly. I unlocked super ultimate hard. At this point I understood the game and the controls. I take any character that can fly or swing and just fly over the entire level to the boss fights. Ridiculous!

There are other "elements" the developers probably referred to, but they do NOT A GODDAMN THING for the game play. The puzzles are flat out dumb. All of them are just dragging something around on the ground to activate a switch. Who the fuck is testing this game? You have to realize, it's a complete waste of time and is not necessary for this game. Worthless! Fuck. Then there's the dialogue choices. It makes me laugh when I think about how stupid this is. The characters sound so repetitive. None of the choices matter other than to level your characters personality up and get an achievement. In the game characters talk to you, but your character doesn't speak you just select a text, but in the cut scenes everyone one speaks! I can't believe they didn't take the time to have everyone talk to each other, that would have been cool and more a reason for me to select good or evil with some characters. A good Juggernaut and an evil Captain America.

The story starts out leading up to civil war where Captain America goes undergound to fight Ironman and the U.S. Government. A cool story in the comics. About half way through the game that storyline ends and the horrible design of the game just goes into hyper drive.  No Hulk fight?! Maybe they did that in the first game, I don't know I couldn't get through the first two levels it was terrible. You just fight robots and dudes dressed in all black for the entire game. Some of the boss fights are cool, but fighting Yellow Jacket is not a highlight of the game for me.

A splash of my piss has better graphics than this game. Wolverine's claws just push the crates around, I have to switch to Penance and punch the boxes. WTF is a Penance?! Gambit has a giant nose!

I didn't like the first Marvel Alliance game. I had to play this one and I really did force myself at time. Now I can say with confidence that I have played one for worst games of all time. Some Jimmy in Los Angeles approved this as being a good game. This same Jimmy thought the leveling up system in the game was cool, but didn't realize you could just do auto level up and it doesn't actually matter. Wolverine, Deadpool, Juggernaut and Jean Grey just raip the shit out of the game. I destroyed this game and I did not have a super great time.

 My final verdict:

FUCK IT!

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 First Impressions

By: goukijones Sep 16, 2009 | 9 Comments

Immediately reminds me of G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra?!

WTF am I saying. I’m saying the truth! Ok maybe it’s the other way around since Marvel Alliance 1. G.I. Joe probably tried to copy Marvel Alliance. Regardless, there already seems to be way more thought and depth to Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. MAU2  is a beat‘em up style with RPG elements The game overall kind of reminds me of Gauntlet or TMNT.

I just beat the first boss, Electro. Whipped his ass easily. I set the game difficulty on hard, there is a hardest mode, but it’s locked.

Uh-oh moral decisions … Why can’t I just pound the shit out Jimmys and be done with? The choices I first had were not clear if they were good or bad. One told me I was diplomatic and the other said I was defensive. Hmm, I’ll have to figure out which one is the most evil as I go on.

Wolverine destroys!

What’s wrong with Gambit’s face Jimmy? His nose is huge and well, he just looks really fucked up. That’s one of the worst character models. Let’s see if he pwns.

Gambit seems to be weak at the moment, but I’ll level him up. Juggernaut rails though forget it! Juggernaut and Gambit team up to do a fusion technique. Juggernaut pulls a huge chunk of the earth or floor up, Gambit throws a bunch of charge cards into and then Juggernaut slams it into the enemies. Totally awesome!

Now I’m starting to get the dungeon crawler feel. I like it. This game is fun so far and I will continue to play it. I’ll let you know how I feel about the entire game when I beat it.

Jimmy!
