The guys over at Nether-realm have been doing video podcasts talking about the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat. These videos are a great look into the technical side of Mortal Kombat as well as talking about the in game features! Check it out!
Mortal Kombat is a classic fighting game that has lots of blood, guts, and good old fashion ass kicking. The new Mortal Kombat (9 for those keeping count) is looking to be one of the best Mortal Kombats in the series. Some have gotten their hands on the game, while others like me have been waiting to get more and more info on the game.
The guys over at Nether-Realm Studios have been doing video podcasts answering community questions and giving gamers a look into the upcoming Mortal Kombat. In their series call MKast. Check it out!
These videos feat. some gameplay footage aswell.
Guess what? The Mortal Kombat demo is broken. I would never have guessed in a million years that MK was broken.
The way to beat it is to use your breaker, but that apparently takes up 2/3's of your gauge, and you won't gain enough gauge just defending to break free in the first round. Even after that you'll only get one slip-up in the next round so you better reverse the match.
I know this is just the demo build and since its a major issue they'll fix it, but it just goes to show that this is the kind of bs that can get through.
The video's message is my own. The MK series is lackluster and people still buy into the hype and eat up the gimmicks. IF I ever get this game, I would only get it after its been proven not to be a pile of shit and I would only get it used so I wouldn't support the devs. But my prediction will be that it will suffer MVC3's fate in that it'll be all hype and not enough substance.
P.S. I will be loling at the tournaments.
In the final part of the Mortal Kombat MKast the developers talk about Enhanced Specials (EX Moves), Tutorial/Training Modes, Tech Rolls (Quick Rise), Tag Combos, Dash Canceling, and Wake Up Specials. New game play footage as well. Check it out!
I'm looking forward to this game more and more. With the inclusion of Training mode, and a solid tutorial, I'll be dominating Earth Realm for a long time. Who else is excited for the new Mortal Kombat?

MK Trailer from VGA awards
A new Mortal Kombat trailer just popped up today officially revealing Kratos from God of War! Keep in mind that this is just a CG video, so don't expect any gameplay, but it's still bad ass either way. Enjoy!
In what seems to be a turn for the worst Netherrealms studios has officially announced that Mortal Kombat will be delayed till June 14th. They stated that they wanted to add more characters and polish the game before release.
Ed Boon tweeted today that the highly anticipated Mortal Kombat is to be delayed till June 14th.
"We are sorry to announce, but Mortal Kombat will be delayed until June 14th." said Boon. "Fans should know that we didn't want this to happen, but we needed a little more time to add in Kintaro, and polish up some bugs."
I'm pretty pissed about this Jimmy! The last thing I wanted was to wait longer for this game to come out. Tell us what you think in the comments. Don't be a Jimmy!
There's a rumor floating around that the Xbox 360 version of Mortal Kombat 9 will feature it's own exclusive content, such as: Puzzle Kombat, The Pit 360 stage (remake of the Pit III from MK3) and King of the Hill Mode with avatar support.
Hitting gaming forums left and right is a list of supposed Xbox 360 exclusives for Mortal Kombat 9. NetherRealm has since added to following notice to their forums: “It has recently been brought to our attention that a number of members are openly discussing news and media that haven’t been officially announced by NetherRealm Studios.” There is no certainty to these exclusives so take them with a grain of salt:
*Exclusive Mode: Puzzle Kombat – Features online play, leaderboards, and avatar support.
*Exclusive Arena: The Pit 360 – Remake of The Pit III from MK3
*King of the Hill mode will include avatar support.
*DLC Character “Lady in Red” will be available to Xbox Live users as a free download for a limited time after her release.
*Exclusive avatar gear will be available for purchase.
if this is true then this is pretty fucking sweet because i was bummed out about the whole PS3 exclusive kratos.
hit the link for more info......there is even a pic to help support this.
let me know what you guys think dont be a jimmy!
Remember all those pre-order bonus Klassic Kostumes? Now's your chance to get them. If you're willing to pay.
The DLC comes out on June 7th for 400 MS points and $4.99 on the PSN It includes Klassic Kostumes for Ermac, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Reptile, Mileena, Jade, and Kitana. The DLC also includes the Klassic Fatalitites for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile.
If you're a huge MK fan then I'd say go ahead and get it it's a good price for all the stuff you get, but if you can live without it try to stay away from supporting this on disc DLC. Plus it comes out on the same day as SSFIV AE so... who's even gonna notice?
What do you guys think? Is it a good price? Are any of you going to get it? Leave your thoughts in the comments, and don't be a Jimmy.

Mad Catz has released parts to change your FightStick so it is compatible for Mortal Kombat. The Top Panel includes a new button layout and new artwork. A separate bundle includes new buttons. Opening your FightStick will void your warranty.
MadCatz just announced the Combat FightStick Top Panel. Obviously there are some licensing issues, because MadCatz is really trying to tell you this panel is for use with Mortal Kombat, without actually saying Mortal Kombat. That's cool right? Check out the new lay out:Read full story...

The ever powerful boss characters of Mortal Kombat 9 display significantly greater strength than all the other Kombatants. The Shokans Goro and Kintaro, the Emperor Shao Kahn. Power incarnate, these dreaded enemies stand between you and victory.

Garret Sato (Mortal Kombat (2011))
About Goro: Goro's fighting style always revolved around taking advantage of his brute strength and surprising agility. In the early games. Goro was an imbalanced character. All of his moves did far more damage then all of the other characters and because of that he was notoriously difficult to defeat in the first game. In 3D games, he was toned down to make him more balanced. His current depiction is being powerful but slow. Goro is associated with the element of Fire. Like Kintaro, he could either project fireballs either from his mouth or his hands.Read full story...
Netherrealms Studios have posted videos showcasing some of the stages in the new Mortal Kombat. Giving a little back story to the environments. 4 videos to check out.

I think these are pretty sweet. Are you hype? Tell us what you think in the comments. Don't be a Jimmy!
BigBangBlitz has compiled a 2 hour compilation of blood and gore from a huge list of fatalities and other finishing moves. MK, BlazBlue, Primal Rage, Killer Instinct, even some WWF. Check it out.
This is quite impressive and even if you don't have 2 hours to spare there is a chapter select option at 1:15. I haven't even heard of some of these games, and some are just ridiculous looking. I enjoyed this, I'm sure most of you will too. And Hey Phresh It's not just MK, They even got BlazBlue and Guilty Gear.
Description from youtube:
As you all may know by now - Mortal Kombat is finally coming back. To celebrate I felt the need to make a towering monument to depravity, the most bloody, stupid, irresponsibly violent thing possible.
This video is the result. Every fatality I know of from every commercially available 2D game, and some other stuff. I tried to keep redundancy to a minimum so if there are multiple versions of the same thing I just took one. It runs for nearly two hours, so buckle in for the long haul and scream along, or you can use the handy menu to skip to what interests you the most! You can return to the menu at any point by clicking the upper left corner of the screen. The games in each series are grouped together and those groups are in alphabetical order. I didn't put in Brutalities, Ultras or the normal finishers from Pray for Death either since they are mostly the same thing or just sad.
