About: BioShock Infinite (x)

Under the Sea? Big Daddy's return? I don't think so. The first BioShock Infinite DLC is coming, but will it be worth it?

I wrote a review months back. I only gave Bioshock Infinite a Rent it! So you can probably guess, I'm not too excited for this DLC. Rapture looks cool, but I don't think I'll hunting Big Daddies anytime soon.

BioShock Infinite Pro-Tips & Review

By: goukijones May 8, 2013 | 1 Comments

GoukiJones shares his secrets to playing BioShock Infinite on Hard. Also gives his take on whether you should, Buy, Rent or Flush it!

BioShock Infinite Pro-Tips:

  1. Use Possess. Wait for that enemy to die or kill himself. Hit the next enemy with Possess, wait for him to die or kill himself. Do this until everyone is dead.
  2. Out of Ammo, Salts or in need of Health? Just wait for Elizabeth to throw it to you. She'll even toss you Rockets. What? She hasn't tossed you anything in a while? You could be fucked, try back tracking a little & have her hide in a different area, she'll keep throwing you stuff.
  3. Level up whatever guns you like using most. You can't level up every gun. Stick with what works. Side note: Upgrades (other than additional ammo) seemed worthless anyway. For a 1999 achievement you can't even use vending machines. That makes me think the guns are even more irrelevant.

BioShock didn't leave me with any great memories. I think Tomb Raider was way more fun to play. BioShock Infinite really missed out on the Big Daddy hunts. Yeah there are the Handymen to battle, but those fight were whack & there's only like 4-5 of them.

There's no reason to back track in the game. It's very straight forward.

Combat was bland as well. The guns didn't feel great & weren't very fun to shoot. Plus I was just possessing most of the Jimmys & letting them do all the work. I didn't use much of the other Salt power things either. Elizabeth was cool & I love how she HELPS you. Her AI was great, unfortunately the AI of the Jimmys you were fighting against wasn't too great. Maybe they should have saved some for them. Bad guys pretty much just shot back from where ever they were. I never saw anything smart. & the Handyman were Zzzzzzz, like I said, he would just rush you down, so you just run away, turn around & shoot. Big disappointment.

You could beat this game on hard fairly quickly & with not much of a challenge. Fighting the ghosts was the toughest battle for me. But then I adapted to that soon enough & that wasn't challenging either.

I like the Skyhook stuff, that's 1 of the coolest was to get around in any game that I've seen in a while. Doesn't do much for the rest of the game tho. I didn't like BioShock Infinite, but I don't hate it either. You should Rent it.

Check your volume, we tend to get hype without warning. Apologies for the delay in getting this up. Still just as good. Choke is drunk & FnJimmy is out of control as usual.

Bioshock Infinite delayed to March 2013

By: BatRastered Dec 7, 2012 | 1 Comments

The second Bioshock Infinite delay is for "extra polish and bug fixing".

Originally scheduled to be released in October 2012, Bioshock Infinite was pushed back to Feb 26, 2013 a while back to  make the game "into something even more extraordinary". Well, I guess it's about to get even more extraordinary-er. The game has now been pushed back one extra month. This time the delay is for "extra polish and bug fixing". Here's hoping they live up to that extra level of polish!

Bioshock Infinite will now release on March 26, 2013.

Releasing along sides news of the Songbird edition, we have a new Bioshock Infinite gameplay video. Exclusively from Machinima.

Holy mackerel Jimmy! Do we really need another $150 video game? I don't care about those statues. I'd rather build a Lego.

From Irrational Games:

Calling on the true patriots of Columbia: For the devoted BioShock collector and fan, the limited Ultimate Songbird Edition features a bounty of high-end memorabilia:

- a 25 millimeter, resin-cast Handyman board game figurine
- a Murder of Crows keychain
- and a 5 x 7-inch lithograph print

All designed by the same Irrational Games artists who created BioShock Infinite. It also boasts exclusive in-game gear, BioShock Infinite-themed Xbox Live Avatar costumes, a digital soundtrack, and an art book that offers a look at the making of the game’s unique art style.

Featuring a breathtakingly detailed statue of the sentinel of Columbia, Songbird, in its own collectible packaging, this edition will have limited availability—there won’t be another like it!

A message from Ken Levine details reasons for pushing the game back a few months to add extra polish and make the game "into something even more extraordinary".

Originally slated to release this October, Bioshock infinite has now been pushed back until February 26, 2013. This isn't too big a surprise, the original Bioshock was released late too and given that I'll still be playing Borderlands 2 when this was originally scheduled to come out, I see this as good news. By all means, make a perfect game! Just don't get stuck in that Duke Nukem mode, LOL!

Here's part of what Ken Levine has to say (read the whole thing at the source link):

When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing.

Since then, we’ve come to realize that some specific tweaks and improvements will make Infinite into something even more extraordinary. Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need, we’ve decided to move the game’s release to February 26, 2013. We wanted to let our loyal (and very patient!) fans know this as soon as possible.

I won’t kid you: BioShock Infinite is a very big game, and we’re doing things that no one has ever done in a first-person shooter. We had a similar experience with the original BioShock, which was delayed several months as our original ship date drew near. Why? Because the Big Daddies weren’t the Big Daddies you’ve since come to know and love. Because Andrew Ryan’s golf club didn’t have exactly the right swing. Because Rapture needed one more coat of grimy Art Deco.

Well, one less game I'll be seeing at 2K's booth at E3 this year.

Ken Levine takes you behind the scenes of Bioshock Infinite's gigantic, terrifying enemy, the Handyman.

From the description:

In this second episode of our Heavy Hitter series, we go back to the very first enemy most fans saw in the BioShock Infinite announcement trailer: the powerful, gigantic yet agile Handyman. Man? Machine? Hand model? You'll have to find out for yourself when the game launches October 16th, 2012!

Why Bioshock Infinite is my most anticipated 360 game

By: genxsis83 Jan 19, 2012 | 12 Comments

A preview of the upcoming Ken Levine game Bioshock Infinite New 1999 mode revealed.

Edit:

Hey guys they are announcing a 1999 mode for this game that makes the game much more challenging and rewarding.  Basically everything you do will have a consequence that you will have to live with and you will need to play much more intelligently.  After playing Dark Souls I am excited for this new mode.

Now I only played the first Bioshock but it was well worth it.  The reason that I didn't bother checking out the second one is because the main guy Ken Levine I think is his name was not directing the sequel.

Now many years later we have what I would call a spiritual successor or maybe even a predecessor to the great original Bioshock.  They have not yet made clear the story.  What I can say though is that with a strong female protaganist/damsel in distress you need to protect and great graphics to boot I am highly excited.

I think really all you need to so is watch the game demo and that should be enough to get you hyped.

But once again my biggest selling point is the original maker come on guys Ken Levine did Bioshock and System Shock 2 what more do you need to ask for?

So here is the 10 min gameplay demo.  You have to check this out!
