According to Ed Boon, the PC version of MK9 is selling above expectations. Good news for PC FGC fans?
Straight from the source via twitter:
@denis_fdrv WAY WAY above expectations.— Ed Boon (@noobde) August 8, 2013
So it looks like the experiment is going well... I hope this means we will see injustice and other future games released on PC, hopefully the same day as the console versions.
The Superzeros are a professional cosplay & flash mob group. In this video it's the Gangnam style of Mortal Kombat.

Mortal Kombat lives. People are still playing it and apparently so are a lot of hot chicks. Oh and it's on the Vita or something.
Your worst nightmare has come true!
For months, folks have been wondering who the fourth and final downloadable fighter would be in Mortal Kombat. Today, we know, and it's friggin insane. Freddy Krueger the dream-invading, claw-wearing murder from the A Nightmare on Elm Street film franchise is coming to Mortal Kombat on Aug. 9, 2011
This Freddy rocks two claws and appears to be based more on the 2010 Freddy reboot than the classic Robert Englund look. If previous downloadable characters are any indication, Freddy Krueger in Mortal Kombat will set you back 400 Microsoft points or $4.99 on the PlayStation Network.
I wonder if jason will be added at some point? Anyway i think this is awesome and i STILL don't have the game DAMMIT. Let us know what you think and don't be a jimmy.
The purple ninja has arrived!!!
Rain looks really solid i love the whole weather theme going on. He never stood out to me in the other mortal kombat games but he looks like a real threat in this one. I like his x-ray move and his fatality. He will be available for download july 19th will you make it rain? Let us know and dont be a jimmy.

The ever powerful boss characters of Mortal Kombat 9 display significantly greater strength than all the other Kombatants. The Shokans Goro and Kintaro, the Emperor Shao Kahn. Power incarnate, these dreaded enemies stand between you and victory.
Real Name Goro Age 2000 Height 8' 2" Weight 550 lbs. Status Prince Origin Outworld Resides Outworld Species Shokan (Draco Lineage) Affiliations Shao Kahn's Army
Kitana's Army (former) Weapons Dragon Fangs (MK:D, MK:A) Fighting Styles Shokan (fighting style) (MK:D,MK:A)

2nd Timeline: Evil Appearances Mortal Kombat (sub-boss)

MK: Deception (GameCube exclusive)
MK: Shaolin Monks (sub-boss)
MK 2011 (sub-boss) Portrayers Kevin Michael Richardson(first film)
Garret Sato (Mortal Kombat (2011))
About Goro: Goro's fighting style always revolved around taking advantage of his brute strength and surprising agility. In the early games. Goro was an imbalanced character. All of his moves did far more damage then all of the other characters and because of that he was notoriously difficult to defeat in the first game. In 3D games, he was toned down to make him more balanced. His current depiction is being powerful but slow. Goro is associated with the element of Fire. Like Kintaro, he could either project fireballs either from his mouth or his hands.
Real Name Kintaro Age Unknown Height 8' 5" (2.57 m) Weight 650 lbs (295 kg) Origin Outworld Resides Outworld Species Shokan (Tigrar lineage)

About Kintaro: Like any other Shokan, Kintaro boasts brute strength, stamina and prowess. Unlike his brethren, Kintaro hails from a subspecies specializing in savagery. Combined with savage style of kombat and a mercilessness makes him one of the most lethal kombatants on the battle ground.
For a long time after his introduction, he was seen as one of the hardest bosses in all of the Mortal Kombat series. This was because he was able to grabl someone in mid-attack and throw him or her to the ground, usually followed by a teleport-stomp. He also shot up to three fireballs at a time. The extreme difficulty in defeating him was enough to provoke a comment from Video Games magazine, in their 1993 review of the home versions of MKII, that Kintaro was "the hardest fighting game boss ever...He doesn't just beat you; he kicks your ass."
Real Name Shao Kahn Age Unknown (beyond 10,000) Height 7' 2" (2.18 m) Weight 400 lbs (181.4 kg) Status Emperor Origin Outworld Resides Outworld Species Outworlder Weapons Wrath Hammer (All appearances) Shao Kahn's Sword (Mortal Kombat: Conquest) Fighting Styles Tai Tzu (MK:D, MK:A)

About Shao Kahn: Shao Kahn is shown to be an immensely powerful being throughout the series. He is able to utilize magic and has superhuman strength. He is also able to charge at the opponent with considerable speed and power. In Mortal Kombat 9, Shao Kahn is by far, supreme and above Goro and Kintaro. Able to attack and grab even while being attacked. He also has incredible health along with up to par defenses.
Now I leave you some videos of their great power.
With Skarlet showing great combo potential, Kenshi displays great promise with a slick blade to incorporate into his fighting techniques. His blinding speed gives him access to after image abilities that enable him to take down his enemies with precision.
Kenshi is the downloadable character players will go to if Skarlet wasn't their cup of tea. Below are some videos I felt to be useful in learning his fighting potential.
Kenshi's most notable advantage is his sword, which in turn gives him great range to apply in a number of situations. I look forward to trying out this slick Ryu looking samurai. In addition, here is a link to the backround story to who Kenshi is in case any of you are interested: http://mortalkombat.wikia.com/wiki/Kenshi
Along with these new characters hitting our systems, we cannot forget the original secret characters and how we first encountered them in earlier titles. Below are instructions on how to fight the original secret characters in Arcade.
Jade Secret Battle: During the Shang Tsung Battle, you must win both rounds without getting hit once. This is called a “Double Flawless Victory”, you then must finish the evil sorcerer off by performing a Fatality. Do this successfully and you should be taken to fight a hidden secret battle against the rmerald green female ninja, Jade. Jade appeared as a Secret Battle in Mortal Kombat 2
Here is the Jade Secret Battle on video:
Noob Saibot Secret Battle: During a fight on the “Temple” Stage, keep an eye on the background for Noob Saibot to pop up. If he does, then you will need to win that round without using Block. If done successfully, you’ll be taken to fight Noob Saibot! Noob Saibot is so named by reversing the names of the two creators of Mortal Kombat: John Tobias and Ed Boon. He first appeared in Mortal Kombat 2 as a “Shadow” Ninja, but was unplayable. You could only fight against him as a Secret Battle. He then appeared as an unlockable playable character in Mortal Kombat 3 and subsequent titles like Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
Here is the Noob Secret Battle on video:
Reptile Secret Battle: While playing on the stage known as “The Pit 2 (Night)”, keep your eye on the moon. If a shadowy figure flies across the Moon, then you must beat both rounds against your opponent without getting hit a single time. If your energy bar is completely full at the end of both rounds, you’ll earn a “Double Flawless” victory. You’ll need to finish this awesome feat off by performing a Fatality against your opponent. Do so and you’ll be taken to a Secret Battle against the Green Ninja known as “Reptile”. Reptile was the first ever “Secret Character” and appeared as a Secret Battle in Mortal Kombat 1, where you could fit him at the bottom of the Pit stage! So this is a very cool homage to that secret for MK fans.
Here is the Reptile Secret Battle on video:
Cyber Smoke Secret Battle: In a definite homage to Mortal Kombat 2, you can fight against Robo Smoke by keeping an eye on the trees in the background of “The Living Forest” stage. Fans of Mortal Kombat 2 will remember that Jade and Smoke would peek out from behind the trees, suggesting a secret pertaining to them. Which proved to be true as you could fight against both characters. In MKII a shadow also would fly across the Moon at this stage, some people think it was Noob Saibot in shadow form, thus hinting at all three hidden characters in one stage for those with keen eyes. Thankfully these secrets have been integrated into the Living Forest Stage. As mentioned above, wait for Cyber Smoke to appear in the background and peek out from one of the trees. If he does, at that moment, press Down+Back repeatedly. If done successfully, you will fight against the Cybernetic Robot in a Secret Battle! This is the only time you get to see Smoke in his robot form, as he is unplayable in the game! Hopefully he will be released as DLC.
Here is the Smoke Secret Battle on video:
I will always enjoy secret characters in video games. They truly bring replay value to the game. Hope you enjoyed this story.
Until Kenshi hits Mortal Kombat 9, here is a detail video for wielding the bloodthirsty Scarlet.
What I like about this video is the in-depth step by step it displays. Aside from combo videos, I believe that all characters should have a video describing their perks.
A look at the new DLC fighter for MK in action Kenshi!
Check out the new gameplay trailer for the next MK9 DLC fighter, Kenshi. It has been confirmed that Kenshi will be available for download on Jul 5th for $4.99 or 400 Microsoft Points. He looks pretty badass i would totally use him if i had the game. Let us know what you think and don't be a jimmy.
Ever wanted to see one of your favorite characters in MK? well check this out!!!
Even before kratos, several characters have auditioned for roles in previous mortal kombat games. Most never made the cut and those audition tapes were previously thought to be lost.......................until now.
Check out these videos for some hilariously awesome fatalities as numerous characters try out for mortal kombat.
My personal faves were toad, samus and golden axe LMAO!!!
Let us know which ones were your favorite and don;t be a jimmy.

NetherRealm Studios has released another trailer for Mortal Kombat 9′s first DLC character, Skarlet
The 100-second video outline her origin story, a ruthless female fighter constructed by Shao Khan, used as a last reserve to watch over the treacherous sorcerer, Quan Chi. Of course, along with the narrative comes plenty of ass-kicking gameplay.
What’s more interesting occurs at the very end of the trailer. We’ve known for sometime that Kenshi would be our second downloadable kombatant, but now we have confirmation that Rain will also join him, as well as a mysterious third character.
Each will become available over the summer period as paid DLC. Along with each release, NetherRealm will also release free content packs which allow players without downloadable characters to still fight against them. The studio is also throwing in free costumes tied to these compatibility updates, so keep an eye out.
I really envy MK players, they are getting quality DLC while MVC3 players like myself get nothing. Does this excite any of you MK players out there? Let us know and dont be a jimmy.
