how-to
Welcome to your beginner's guide for Endzone 2! This handy guide outlines crucial strategies to kickstart your survival journey in the post-apocalyptic world. Whether you’re just starting or looking to optimize your gameplay, READ THE PRO TIPS!
First SETTLEMENT
1. Resource Gathering:
- Focus on Clay and Wood: Your first priority should be establishing a sustainable source of clay and wood. These materials are foundational for building and crafting.
- Industry Spread: Disperse your industrial buildings throughout your territory to avoid radiation hotspots. Over-concentrating your operations in one area can lead to rising Geiger counter readings, making it difficult to manage radiation exposure.
2. Farming Strategy:
- Green Zones for Cloth and Latex: Use these zones strategically to grow cloth and latex, critical for crafting and production.
- Post-Bridge Farming: Delay using farms for a while; wait until you cross the first bridge to open up more opportunities for resource gathering.
3. Swamp Exploration:
- Light Blue Zones: These are optimal for farming swamp areas where you can cultivate herbs for medicinal supplies.
- Continuous Medic Production: Once you start producing clay bricks, shift your focus to creating medicine. Always keep your medicine production running to ensure your survivors’ health and increase their survival chances.
Second SETTLEMENT
1. Key Resources:
- Establish Medical Supplies and Rubber: As soon as you enter the second zone, prioritize setting up facilities to produce medicine and rubber, essentials in the later stages of your survival.
- Search for Iron: Iron is crucial for crafting various tools and structures. Gathering it early will set you up for success as you progress.
- Iodine Mining: Once you secure iron, immediately start looking for iodine, a valuable resource for advanced medicine and technology.
2. Transitioning to the Second Area:
- Build the First Easy Bridge: Prepare your materials and build the first bridge. This will unlock access to the second area, where more resources await.
- Resource Management: Always monitor your resources and prioritize production. Balancing your material needs is key to a thriving settlement.
- Spread Out Your Facilities: Effective transportation of goods and resources can minimize radiation exposure and ensure your survivors have what they need, when they need it.
- Adapt and Overcome: Each area has unique challenges. Adapt your strategies based on the resources available and the threats presented by the environment.
PRO TIPS
Here are some additional pro tips to enhance your gameplay experience and efficiency in the game:
1. Resource Prioritization: Focus on gathering critical resources first, such as water and food, before branching out to gather less essential materials. This will ensure your survivors remain healthy and productive.
2. Upgrade Wisely: Invest in upgrading facilities that yield high return materials, such as food and water production, before moving to defenses or entertainment structures.
3. Splitting deliveries. A pick up of mats from one location can be split into multple drop offs.
4. Manage Population: Keep an eye on your population cap. It's better to keep your population below cap and optimize survivor placements than to let it overflow, as this can lead to resource shortages and unhappiness.
5. Cycle of Labor: Use a rotational system to manage labor. Assign tasks based on priority needs and rotate survivors to avoid fatigue and ensure consistent productivity.
6. Build Access Roads: Ensure you have good access roads leading to important buildings and resources. This will speed up transportation times and improve efficiency.
7. Event Awareness: Pay attention to the events affecting your settlement. Prepare in advance for environmental changes and threats like droughts or radiation spikes.
8. Utilize Scouts: Before starting any major construction or expedition, utilize scouts to gather information about nearby resources. You can unlock the entire map and all vehicles, while still only building in your first zone.
9. Storage Management: Keep a close eye on your storage levels. Build additional storage when necessary to prevent resource caps from slowing down your collection efficiency.
10. Upgrade Your Town Center: Prioritize upgrading the Town Center as soon as feasible. This often unlocks more storage and the range of your settlement coverage.
11. Experiment with Settlements: Don’t be afraid to experiment with different settlement placements and designs. Each game can present unique challenges and opportunities.
12. Frequent Expedition Runs: Regularly send expeditions, especially when you have adequate survivors. This maximizes your resource acquisition and keeps your crew engaged. I love to drive around with a caravan of vehicles picking up every resource possible.
13. Need MORE Storage. You can use a lootable building outside of your first settlement. I’ve packed away tons of scrap and wood.
14. There are 6 farmable items in the game right now. After you collect all 6 you do not need to bring the botanical book with you on expeditons.
