FFXIV Out in the Wild Alpha Gameplay. Still waiting for a look at combat.

I read that they're still insisting on the subscription model. Which I don't think is going to benefit them in any way since it looks like they plan on re-selling the PC game again @ $30. (I could be wrong though..I haven't looked into what they said about previous subscribers returning back to play from the first one edition, but I know a re-branded edition is coming out for the PC again along with the PS3 version).

I believe it's a trailer that was shown @ TGS. The battle system is now very similar to FFXI in many ways it looks. If you wern't a fan of FFXI I don't think you'll be interested in this one either.

I've seen that video. Yes there is combat, but it is brief & well edited into these clips. What I meant is, I'd like to see a dev play thru a few battles from start to finish. You know, something more in-depth. :) Are you getting on PS3 or PC?

Ahh okay, I get what you mean. Yeah I agree with you. I'd like to see the most current footage of the battle system with the new integrated UI. I'm honestly not sure which version I'll get. I'd prefer PC as long as they got the new engine working perfect (v1 had crazy lag and slowdown because of the poor coding even with a nice PC at the time). I wouldn't mind giving the PS3 version a shot though. I signed up for the alpha test, so hopefully I'll get into the PS3 alpha/beta to see if I like the console version better. I plan on upgrading my PS3 slim to a 1TB HDD soon, so I should have plenty of room to install an MMO on it. :P

It has the complete full cinematic for the ending of Final Fantasy XIV and then a long question and answer session with gameplay going on in the background. It's in Japanese, but if you turn on CC and set it to english it's english subtitled. Just a heads up for anyone who's interested in seeing/learning about the new game: ARR.

They did a developer session Q&A alongside them playing the game while doing so. So if you wanna see a bunch of footage (it's 2 hours long) this is the video for you! Also, don't forget, turn on CC (closed caption and make sure it's set to English) on Youtube and you'll see english subs (since they're speaking in Japanese). Otherwise it's pointless to watch if you're not understanding what they're saying. :P

The monthly charge is what keeps me from being very interested just because some months I'l barely play it if at all. But if they made it to where I got hooked on the battle system I could be persuaded.
