Final Fantasy 14 A New Realm? Still Boring & Empty.

Still not impressed. Even they cut chunks out of the video from boredom, sorry but that's not how you get people interested.

You realize that's footage from the alpha version and it's not even playable yet, right? :P The servers right now are still running v1 for another day or so. They're just making these videos to show off the new UI, graphics engine, etc. They basically rebuilt the whole game from the ground up these past few years. Which is what they should have released originally in the first place. I suppose we'll see how much better it is in the coming months ahead. I'm willing to give the game another shot if it's as much improved as they've been leading on.

I know exactly what I'm looking at. The graphics were the least of my problems. If they rebuilt the same game, that's going to be the issue here. So far I haven't heard of anything that makes me say, oh now it should be a lot better & people are going to be playing it.

Anyway, if you're playing now, tell me about that. If you're planning on getting this new version, what's up? I would like to play, if I knew people to party with. :)

Hey NP, I like the site. :)

I quit playing about 3-4 months after the game first came out. I enjoyed it for awhile because I thought they were going to release patches to fix the bugs they had much quicker (that and some of the aspects of battle and crafting kept me interested for awhile while they were supposedly working on fixing things). Instead it just got ridiculous how SE insisted on telling all of the players what they needed instead of giving us what we wanted. Needless to say that team got fired because they were bleeding the members of the community left and right (including myself). The v2 of the game has been in development for about 2 years now (under a new team lead who seems like a pretty cool guy) and they've had plenty of time to correct/change/add all the things people hated/wanted about v1 (See: Letters from the Producer, patch update lists, we so sorry *bow bow bow*). Being an original player and just watching the new videos I notice the cosmetic changes to the UI and the graphics engine. I've seen gameplay footage and I was surprisingly impressed (I used to be a hardcore FFXI player, so that could have something to do with it). I'm mainly willing to give it another shot because of everything I've seen and read about it as a whole. SE has put a lot of time and money into rebuilding this game, so that has to tell you something about the quality when they could have just left the original 14 alone and dumped it for a new project altogether.

That's awesome. I can't wait to see how it turns out. I'll keep posting about too. Maybe I'll try to get back on to it, I don't know how much that is gonna cost. I don't have the disc or the same computer.
