Community Gears of War: The Board Game

This is a board game based on the Gears of War series. I'm freaking serious.

The games being made by Fantasy Flight Games, who've apparently made board games out of Civilisation, BattleStar Galactica, and StarCraft, so they presumably know what they're doing (I wouldn't know, I would never play those).

What gets me though, is that it says "This fully cooperative design by Corey Konieczka pits 1–4 players against a cunning and relentless foe, and is based on the wildly popular series of third-person shooters by Epic Game." Who the fuck is going to play cooperatively by themselves. It boggles the mind.

The games been in development for about three years now. It looks like it was based on the first one but in this picture you can see a Kantus figurine from the second game.
