I've been dying to play Lost Odyssey. Well I finally got my hands on it. 4 discs?! I found FF13 to be very similar to this game. I'd wish it was more like FF12. Here's my thoughts on this JRPG.

Lost Odyssey Lost Me Review

Why are you so shocked when I tell you that I skip all of the cut scenes? The last thing I want to hear, when I'm focused on whoppin' ass, is some cry baby nuab. This retarded guy we picked up along the way, whose stupid staff makes the most annoying noise in during fight. And this chick with a nice cosplay named Seth, yes Jimmy, named after Seth from Street Fighter IV.

So when you skip all the talking and bullshit cut-scenes, you end up in some real surprise situations. While casually leveling up and exploring this deep dark cave, I turn right and boom, cut-scene. It stars with my team just casually walking into a giant cavern. I hit start and then select immediately ... fade to black. Then the fight music starts up. The screen fades in and there is a giant blue tentacle monster in the room with me. The monster has one of my party members in it's grasp and I don't have a clue what's going on. I save my friend from the evil beasts disgusting mucussy octopus looking dongles. Too easy.

Skipping the cut-scenes that go directly into fights become a standard in Lost Odyssey. So does the ritual of healing and restoring magic at the end of every fight. Don't tell me, I'm that far ahead of myself in the game. My main Jimmy is level 30, he's learned everything he possible can at this point and I'm about 14 hours into the game. Disc 2. I'm pretty bored with it or maybe I should say Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. To each his own, this game might have just came around at the wrong time for me. Maybe under different circumstances maybe I would have had a different experience.

Rent it!
