Just got a code for Sol Survivor and then realized that I already owned it. What a Jimmy. So let me write a review real quick so I never forget again. I'll also give details on how to get my extra code.
When I saw video of that same gameplay, I was like ok, that looks sweet, I'll play. I send the Jimmy a note that I'd like to try out his game, I get a code and then Steam says to me "You already own that game stupid."
My bad. Sol Survivor doesn't look like that when you first start it up. You gotta zoom in to get those really cool shots. I immediately remember playing this years ago because of the annoying Mass Effect sound over and over during the menus. Back then I was playing a lot of Anomaly and Sanctum so I must apologize for not paying this game more attention.
Once you get pass the menu noises and you can place towers, Sol Surviror gets awesome rather quickly. My main reason for this is just watching the mortars bomb on things from a mile away. The mortars by the by, totally unfair for the things trying to get across the map.
I played through the first 2 sets of waves. On the last wave of the second set, 3 of those Y-Wing looking things got by. I was sleeping with my laser. The laser is something you can control with the mouse for extra support. A devestating red beam shoots down from the skies. Also no fair for the things.
The music is good. Shout out to the composer on that one. When the matches heat up and the music is intense, I find myself mesmerized.
Check out Sol Survivor on Steam. It's from a great studio and they need your support if you like the game.
