Is Splash Damage going to change everything with Brink and their new engine called "SMART" ???
I first heard of Brink about a year ago. I saw the teaser for it and thought the concept of the island and the to factions feuding sounded cool. The teaser said it was coming out in Spring 2010. LOL. It's cool, good games take time. I always say delay it until it's perfect. Unless you're Gran Turismo 5, which I don't even know what the fuck they are doing anymore. Now there are karts ... wait getting off target.
Brink has had me juiced ever since I saw this video late last year. I told BatRastered that this is "the video that has me totally into this game." At this point last year we were Borderlands fiends. BatRastered way more than me. It was kind of hard for me to talk about a game that was so similar to Borderlands at first glance. I didn't think that, at all. When I saw the SMART engine working, I thought that we could do some really cool stuff with that. Check it out, Paul Wedgwood the Game Director playing in this video.
Now the first time a lot of people saw Brink was the CG trailer they released. I knew what was behind that trailer and if they were trying to say that is what it's going to be like when it comes out. Cool. Of course people were like "Yeah right, there's no way it'll be anything like that." Well I hope after watching the first video you understand why I think it will play like that. It's Hardcore Parkour FPS = HPFPS. WOW!
Finally it was time for E3 and I knew Brink was going to be there. It was one my E3 most wanted list top 10. Getting to play would really set my opinion straight. When E3 came around and I was on the floor talking with Ed Stern and actually playing Brink. I forgot about the Parkour stuff. I didn't get to see it all in the E3 Demo. I realzed this when I came home later that week. I didn't even see the jumping and sliding stuff. I thought. That was the gameplay element I was most interested about. Bongoboy had me going so fast through the demo; changin' classes, accepting missions, shooting Jimmys. It was cool though.
These next 3 videos are just straight forward gameplay and they are incredible. Warning God mode activated. First video = Zzzzz. The second video shows off some more slick jumping in combat and what some of the specific chracters classes do. The third video shows planting a bomb and defending an area the developer was trying to breach. To create a shortcut for his teammates. Awesome stuff there. Looks very exciting.
By now you understand where I'm going with the combat and "Moving and shooting" concept that, Technical Game Designer, Aubrey Hesselgren speaks of in this next video. Brink is do out in January, right before my birthday. I hope it's going to be a good one. With videos like these coming out as we get closer, I am constantly walking around with a stiffy thinking about the SMART engine! C'mon! Sticky baum to ya garill!

Today we look into the uniqueness of girls who play video games.....for real. Not the "Show me how to play, it looks like fun" type but the kind that make you say "Whoa there's a girl at this tournament?".
While over the years the quantiity of girls playing video games has increased, the idea of girls playing competitively still brings a feeling of astoundment. We've all seen it, a girl walks in to pick up the controller or gets online and you hear her voice and immediately you wonder "Who's this girl?'. Even more so at tournaments, guys stare in wonder at the girl with a tournament fight stick.
Many times people may often wonder why enough girls don't play video games. And in truth, it has to do more with responsibility than anything else. To be frank, most girls don't play video games quite like guys do due to the fact that their concerns are directed towards survival. Bills of the house, food for the family, and work. Other activities that draw their attention are shopping, exercise, friends, and don't even get me started on boyfriends. Some girls may never really get into video games because of these factors and may view them even as a loss of time. Others, play them casually, getting together with friends and usually playing video games that involve a large group of people such as Guitar Hero, Mario Party, etc.
But while some girls may not play video games, there's no denying the growing appeal in video games, and slowly but surely, girls are beginning to have an increase of interest. More commonly than most, girls begin to play video games usually when they are introduced to them. With a large number of them due to their boyfriends. Lots of men have tried it at least once. They have a love for their woman and a love for video games. Why not put them both in the same room? Joy! :D From here on out it goes one of two ways depending on your method, you either do it wrong and beat them at EVERYTHING xD resulting in the girl losing total interest in video games because she's "not good" at them, or, you start them off on a gradient. A game that's simple and they end up winning. Everyone enjoys winning, that's a simple fact. If the girl wins at a video game, it will bring that feeling of accomplishment and by consequence increase her confidence in playing, resulting in her being more open to play more. As her skill increases, you can introduce her to more complicated games and so forth.
But what if the girl in question is already good? What if she's damn good!? These types of girls have always had great appeal to guys of the gaming world. Looks and personality of course play a role, but it's like 100 instant brownie points if a girl is great at video games. Many times if the girl is appealing enough, guys will try their luck and try to talk to them. Confident guys usually get a conversation going. But as any one guy who's tried to play mack daddy pimp would know, you never go in assuming she's yours from the get go. Of course, don't be so shy you don't even talk to her like 65% of the guys at tournaments do xD These girls are like any other girl aside from the fact that they have video games in common with you. They like to be treated with respect and like it when you make them laugh. Under some circumstances though, video games have brought men and women together and have even resulted in marriage. Such examples have been seen where they met online while playing a game. Personally, I have a friend named Jay whose mother met her current fiancee on XBOX LIVE.
In conclusion, girls that play video games are a pretty solid group, ranging from casual to hardcore. I myself can appreciate a girl who has the committment to be lethal at a video game. It makes it easy to kill two birds with one stone, you have a girl over AND you get to play video games. About the only thing missing is a feast. But then again, as gamers, who doesn't have a feast after we play :D
This is a video about a japanese girl playing competitively at Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition. I admire her patience and technique.

Crackdown 2 is way worse than the first one. Don't even, you don't even need to read this. Just flush it yo.
I had to get a drink before I wrote this review. Crackdown 2 and I called it - way back in October - is the same game, minus the cool story. When I say the same game, I mean the same game. You can't tell the difference. If you walked into my house and saw me playing Crackdown 1 and you know what Crackdown is and that part 2 just came out. You would think it was Crackdown 2. Irrelevant. Ruffian Games and I'm calling these Jimmys out, just cut and pasted everything from Crackdown 1 and someone had the brilliant idea to add zombies. Even the hidden shit is in the exact same spot, c'mon Jimmy - print it and ship it and charge people full retail. ZOMG do not pay full price for Crackdown 2, fuck man don't even pay for it. BatRastered called it, it could have been DLC.
I do love collecting the orbs though. I have 474 agility orbs and 27 of the moving shits. 170 something of the hidden ones, I already knew where half of there were. All of my levels are maxed out except for shooting, which I just use rockets and g-nades. So I always get explosive points and not gun points. I also don't drive. I can fucking jump over the entire city. Why would I drive? You're not going to believe this, but FNJimmy maxed out his driving the first day. **Pro-tip** Grab the agility orbs Jimmy!
Watch this preview ...
Doesn't that look like a lot of fun, especially with 4 people playing. Guess what? Never played with more than 3 because nobody on my friends list bought this stupid game. They knew something I didn't. Anyway, that preview ... Bullshit. If you are near any explosion in the game, your body flails wildly in the sky and falls back down to the earth completely out of your control. Friendly fire fucks you up. The wingsuit, the shit you see the four Jimmys flying through the sky with ... terrible. I have no idea how it works. I'll spend an hour climbing a fuckin' building, jump off the top to do the wingsuit challenge and crash violently to the pavement. FUCK!
Climbing the building is so much fun. Such a unique puzzle aspect to some of them and I really enjoy getting to the peak of the highest buildings. Just today, before I sat down to write this review, I climbed all the way to the top of the agency tower. Even got the moving agility orb up there. I wanted the achievement though. Pebble Dash - From the top of full-height Agency Tower, leap into the chimney stack and live to tell the tale! I jumped off, bumped a wall on the way down and ended up in the bottom of a toilet bowl. Crackdown 2 is officially banned. First of all no achievement? I'm alive muthafucka! I'm in the bottom of a toilet bowl. So that was a waste of time.
I managed to trap myself in two different places on two different occasions. Once while grabbing orbs I came across the piece of what looked like a enclosed bridge hanging in the water. At this point I am fucking with the game to see what happens. Sure enough I swim underneath and when I come up for air, I'm in a little room I can't find my way out of. Suicide ensues. Another time I caught some bad Jimmys coming through a door way, I ran right into the door way and started to pound the shit out of them. The doors closed behind me. I was stuck again. Suicidal tendencies.
Is anybody testing this game? How can this game make it to the street without somebody saying.
"Hey you almost want to die. You can respawn instantly with full ammo."
"What's the story? I just gotta turn on 27 relay towers?"
"This looks exactly like Crackdown 1."
"The zombies are worthless. Just pound the shit out them with your fists."
The game curses at you like a sailor if you do not complete the final mission immediately.
"What the FUCK are you doing agent?" Says the Voice of the Agency. I was shocked the first 17 times he screamed at me.
I don't know where I'm going with this anymore. You have got to take Crackdown 2 and Flush it. Go play Crackdown 1 it's a better game.
Are you ready for swift and merciful justice?
6 days until the release of L.A Noir. Check out the launch trailer below. It isn't too special, seems just like all the other trailers they have been showing. Any of you jimmy's buying Noire or excited about it? I'm still on the ropes. Tell us what you think in the comments below, is this gonna be good game from what you've seen?

My[Arthvader] preview for The King of Fighters XIII. An in-depth look at the most important reasons why Arthvader is hype for KOF13.
With The King of Fighters XIII coming this November, I'm soo hyped up for this game. I've been a fan of the series since 94, and from the looks of it, I'm sure it'll be one of the best one yet. Here's the trailer:
The story takes place after the event's of KoF XI. Ash Crimson has just recently managed to claim two of the three power held by the decedents of those who sealed the Orochi 1,800 years ago (Chizuru Kagura and Iori Yagami), while leaving Kyo Kusanagai to be his final victim. As Elisabeth Blanctorche, a former comrade of Ash, prepares to stop him, fighters from around the world received a letter with an invitation to another King of Fighters tournament tournament, in which it's be hosted by a person being simply labeled as "R". This person is Rose, the sponsor of the tournament, who is currently being controlled by "Those from the Past", the organization behind the two previously held tournaments that has been trying to break the seal of the Orochi.
Let's talk modes first. The game will have the following modes: Story, Practice, Challenge, Customize, Tutorial, Replay, Gallery, and Online.
In the Story mode, you can view events from the perspective of multiple characters, and it will be influenced by the decisions you make, as well as your battle results. when it comes to battling the CPU in the story mode, you'll be given random objectives, or Target Actions, which when completed, will give you bonus points, as well as some bonuses for the next round. Also, pre-battle dialog will be shown during the single player mode.
With the Tutorial mode, newcomers will be able to learn the basics of the game. the tournament sponsor Rose will explain the basic controls of each character, as well as the importance of each gauge.
The Challenge mode will consist of three modes within itself: Survival, where you fight for as long as you can, Time Attack, Where you pretty much just play through the game for the fastest time, and Trial, which you perform various combos with each character.
The Replay mode is where you can view replays of matches you saved after battles. I don't know yet if you can watch replays with friends yet.
The Gallery is, well, it's self explanatory. in this mode, you can view various pieces of art done by the staff.
Another neat feature for this game is the fact that you can customize the character's colors to whatever you want. Sure, at first, there won't be as many colors available at first, but as you keep playing the game, more colors will be available, allowing for unlimited customizations. the best part is, you can use those customizations in online play.
The next thing I'll mention is gameplay changes. First of all, the following gameplay mechanics from the previous game were removed for this game: the Critical Counter system, the the Clash system, and the dynamic, zooming camera. In the place of these mechanics, the following systems and changes has been added:
- The EX Mode: Players will be able to use powerful version if their moves for the cost of one meter for EX Desperation Moves, and two meters for EX Super Desperation Moves.
- The Triple Cancel: this mechanic allows players to unlimitedly cancel their character's moves. the Triple Cancel is dependent on the Hyper Drive Gauge.
- The Hyper Drive Gauge: A three-tier gauge which will gradually drain as player cancel the moves. Whenever the the gauge reaches the max, the player will then go into a state called "Hyper Drive Mode" in which players will be able to cancel unlimitedly for a short amount of time.
- Neo Max Desperation Move: whenever the player is in the "Hyper Drive Mode" while having at least three power stocks, they'll be able to pull off this powerful technique. Players can also link this move into a combo, in which you'll do a "Max Cancel".
All I have to say is this, the songs in this game are soo totally badass. Instead of having generic songs for the stages, we get back songs for each team. Not only that, each team's theme, in my opinion, sounds like it belongs with them. Listen to Team Japan's theme here, and see for yourself:
As you can see from the image above, you can tell that the game improves on the graphics. The game will feature a total of at least 8 new hand-drawn stages, while returning stages from the previous game will get a visual upgrade. each characters themselves will have at least 20 different colors to choose from, all of which looks really nice, while some characters might have head swaps (Raiden & Takuma, I'm looking at you), and if the twenty colors aren't enough, you can use your own customized colors (I explained customization mode in the gameplay section of the preview.)
Final Verdict: HYPED!!!
Even though the game won't be out just yet, I'd say BUY IT!!!!!
Also, pre-order this game to get a special 4-disk set consisting of KoF music spanning the whole franchise.
Before I go, here's some videoes of high level KoF XIII players (I found these on iplaywinner's youtube page):

Broken glitch that allows Yang to avoid attacks and grabs on wake-up
First, have a look at the footage uploaded by http://www.youtube.com/user/sggamer
So wtf happens? Yang is invincible upon wakeup to most options for about 10 frames. Throws won't get him but cross-ups will. This isn't automatic though, there are some conditions on doing the glitch:
1.Before wakeup, Yangs body needs to be down with head closer to opponent.
2.Yang player can't press any inputs or buttons
3. Hitbox of attack can't hit Yangs back (cross ups will work against glitch)
4. Long active frames (things more than 10 frames I guess) will hit Yang.
So what do you guys think of this? It does sound extremely broken, except most people would be too scared to do it, not blocking on wakeup is a ridiculou risk. Unless you know your opponent very well, then this could be a great trick from time to time. Leave a comment on what you think, and if you think it should be patched or not.
My name is FnJimmy, but you already know that. Finally I got to play Red Dead Redemption. Here is my only review.
For the first time in any historics, I play and review Red Dead for 360. As usual I'm pretty drunk and extremely "tired" at the same time of making this video. Gouki and Ratbastered are asking me questions. The normal review stuff.

Killzone 3 changes the industry. Here's a look at a few high profile gun peripherals for the Sony Playstation Move. The official Sony Sharpshooter and the CTA Assault rifle. Play an FPS like never before.
There are a few excellent options if you want to use your PlayStation 3 Move controller and play an FPS like you have never played before. Killzone 3 has gun peripherals galore. We got to try one out recently at CES and FnJimmy really liked it. From what I observed, I like what I saw and would definitely give it a try. Sony has a quality product here with the Move FPS.
The peripheral we got hands-on with at CES was the official Sony PlayStation Move SharpShooter.

Our first look at how to build out the Borderlands 2 classes starts off with Maya, the Siren. Let's see how her 3 skill trees work.
Let's start off with my least favorite tree, Harmony (the center tree). Here's a link to the build if you want to follow along.
I really don't like the "Scorn" cap on this tree, as you can see at the end of the video, it's very easy to hit yourself with it. Some of the other skills like the "Res" game changer in the middle of the tree, are only useful in co-op, so you'd likely want to re-spec if you ever played solo and put that point to better use somewhere else in the tree. In a full team of 4, and with a good Heavenly Nurse class mod, this build can greatly improve the survivability of everyone in the group. In fact, you should probably move the 5 points in recompense into Elated if you have 3 or more players as it will be less about your survival and more about the health of the group as a whole.Read full story...

Gears of War's Executive Producer, Rod Fergusson, has promised another XP marathon if General RAAM is able to topple Half Life 2's Dr. Breen in Gamespot's 'All Time Greatest Game Villain Feature,'
Found this over at http://www.xbox360achievements.org
here is a copy and paste of the article:
The EP tweeted the following yesterday, "Ouch 1800 votes down... Never mind %, 30x XP if RAAM wins." At the time of publishing, RAAM is down by about 1,300 votes and he's hoping this latest incentive will get Gears fans - and those wanting their 'wings' - to vote in their thousands. The semi-finals are set to start on Tuesday, so consider this your final heads-up. It should be a tight finish. Fingers crossed ladies and gents, fingers crossed. Head on over to vote now
Don't be a Jimmy! You know you want that 30xp for Gears 2. Vote up Raam so we can all get out wings!
Play on hard without looking like a Jimmy...
I played through the first Infamous recently for two reasons. One, it was free and two I wanted to play through it before picking up Infamous 2. Rei Puerto already did an excellent job reviewing the first game, so I’ll just say that it’s definitely worth picking up at its discounted price (if you didn’t get it for free like I did during the PSN welcome back program).Read full story...
